It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

No snow here (unlike Chicago and DC) but that doesn't mean I'm not in the holiday spirit! I'm very excited for Christmas--especially since I have off from work this year. Last week I put up my tree and I've been listening to Christmas music since before Thanksgiving!

We Don't Bake, We Decorate!

I had a good, but very short, visit to DC for Thanksgiving last month. I bought one of those gingerbread house kits because AJ loves helping in the kitchen and recently demanded his mommy bake cookies so he could decorate them! Megan and Abigail helped and AJ even scolded me at one point because the M&Ms were for "decorating, not eating!"

With a long five days of nothingness ahead of me I searched to find something to do around the city and what did I find?!? A Pumpkin Patch! In Manhattan! And it was free! So Mikey and I met up in the West Village this afternoon and had lunch followed by a rainy walk down the cobble stone streets to the pumpkin patch. It was quite a cute little thing--geared towards families, but if it's free, I'm game. I brought home my pumpkin and after a few missteps (apparently the lid hole needs to be big enough to put your hand in) I ended up with a pretty cute Jack-o-lantern!

Hey Obama! Let Mama Marry Mama!

Last weekend I took the bus down to DC for the National Equality March and rally. I had a ton of fun marching with people from the Public Theater and seeing a lot of other people I knew from HAIR, other Broadway shows and even Lady Gaga (who gave a surprisingly articulate and poignant speech). Most importantly though, we were there to push President Obama and Congress to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell, the Defense Against Marriage Act and to promote full equal rights to same sex couples.

Where Did September Go?!?!

With all the travel I did during September, the month flew by! After my trip to Vegas with Sam, I headed to Chicago for a long weekend to help out packing up the house with mom. We got a lot done, but also took time to enjoy the trip home and stop by a couple of my favorite restuarants. Then a week later I headed to Virginia to go on vacation with Michelle, Pete and AJ to Charleston. We had a great week on the beach and did a lot of fun stuff in the city. AJ did pretty well in all the restuarants and shops, but as a three year old, he know's how to throw a fit! We had a great time though and I'm so glad Michelle asked me to go with and helpout.

Now that I'm finally back in NYC, I'm working with costume designer Anne Hould-Ward shoping and swatching for a couple diffrent shows she's designing. It's nice to work on something other that wardrobe and shake it up a bit! Looking forward to a quiet month and then back at the Public in November to wardrobe supervise a show there.

Endless Summer!

Lots of things have been happening the last few weeks and I haven't updated you all about any of them! First off, Bacchae closed on Sunday the 30th. It was extremely sad to see the summer season in Central Park end, but I know I can look back and remember that I had one of the best jobs ever this summer! The night of closing, the Public threw a party backstage and everyone got to say their goodbyes. Here I am with Jonathan Groff, who played Dionysess, and then Emily, my wardrobe supervisor, and Katie, the wig supervisor.

Right after closing and strike I headed out to Las Vegas for Labor Day weekend with Sam, one of my best friends from Chicago. We had a blast just hanging out at the pool and going out at night. We saw the Cirque de Soleil show "O" that all happens on/over water. It's hard to explain, but it was incredible and I highly recommend it to anyone heading out to Vegas. As you can see, Sam and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip!

Tomorrow I'm heading to Chicago to help clean and pack up my stuff and a bunch of other things from the house in preparation for mom and megan to move out to Virginia in a month. Then in another week I'll be heading down to South Carolina with Michelle, Pete and AJ. I am VERY excited for the beach! The summer activities are never ending for me!

Happy Opening!

Last night was the official opening for Baccahe, the second show for Shakespeare in the Park this summer. We lucked out with beautiful weather a only three raccoons that made an unexpected appearance on stage! The post-party was at the theatre and quite a few people from HAIR, Twelfth Night and other recent Public Theatre shows came. It was great to see everyone.
