Warning this may be a very long post!

Look at the size of him!

I never thought I would have a baby over 7.5 lbs let alone almost 9 lbs.

Daddy is giving him his first bath.

Sam was so excited.

My dad calls newborns: EatSleepNPoop - which would describe Hyrum perfectly. He sleeps very well, and loves to be cuddled.

Jaydee came in and wanted to hold her baby brother right away. She was okay with Mommy staying one more night in the hospital, but she wanted to take her baby brother home with her.

He is ready to go home! I loved this newborn outfit, but I had brought a premie outfit because I didn't think there was any way he could wear it. It fit perfect.

I had the whole birth story but it is gone. I'll write more later. I had to pay bills. :P

Baby News & Jaydee Stories

Baby News: I am dilated to a 2 and 50% effaced, the doctor said I could go anytime. I have my fingers crossed. I told Jaydee to tell her baby brother to come out, she looked at me and said, nah he can come out next week and then grinned. I would love to go this weekend. I am really tired of being pregnant. I have also hit the safe zone so the baby should be just fine.

Deedra called Jaydee a stinker and she replied “Nope, I’m stinkin cute.” (Which is another one of Deedra’s phrases).

Then I told her to go brush her teeth, she told me “No.” Deedra stepped in “Did you tell your mommy no? If you don’t go brush your teeth, I am going to hide your princess shoes.” Jaydee took off running, then came back with her impish grin and said “You can’t find my princess shoes!” Deedra got up and made her brush her teeth.

Later, she wanted Blain, but he was climbing in the shower, so she knocked on the door he told her he was showering and to go away, she tried to open the door and then got mad because he had locked it. I laughed as she yelled at him to unlock the door so she could show him something and he yelled back No!

Our weekend

We went to the valley on Saturday, yes I am crazy to drive down there this close to delivery, but it was my great grandma's funeral. We bummed around most of the weekend (a little shopping, lots of visiting). Jaydee went into my aunt's shower (which is clear glass) and shut the door then opened it "Peek a Boo" then closed it "I'm hiding!" I laughed so hard.

My great grandmother Florence Vilate Echols Busby was 89 and truly an inspiration. The funeral was very nice and it was fun to see cousins and family. It was a long day. I had contractions on the way home and got very excited but they stopped. Well we will just have to keep waiting.

I can't find a copy of my grandmothers obituary so I guess you will have to wait for that.

Jaydee didn't want to go to sleep

Jaydee doesn’t like to go to sleep, I wish she was more like my brother Joseph and would go to bed when she was tired. Instead she just fights it and cries all night. Deedra asked her what was wrong? She sobbed “I don’t know.” Deedra said, then why are you crying? (pause) Sobbing “because I’m hungry.” Then she was thirsty and I took her a drink, she didn’t touch it because she was telling me (very dramatically) how time out worked. “When I go to time out (sob between every word), because I make sad choices, then I cry cuz you won’t talk to me.” (I gently remind her that I can’t talk to her in time out) “Then it goes beep, beep and I get out of time out and make happy choices” (Yes, the timer goes off) “Do you push the buttons to make it beep?” Jaydee, do you want a drink or should I go now? Remember this is like the 10^th time someone has been in to check on her. It was so funny!

Deedra gave me a print out of super nanny's bedtime tips! As she hands me the copy, she says I don't want to overstep but... I love my sister and she couldn't offend me. Yes, we have a spoiled little girl. And yes I am jealous of Deedra's twins who you hand them a pacifier and they go right to sleep. But I do love Jaydee's inventive ways to get out of bed. Last night she came in because she had "toked" (choked) in her bed. She then took the bowl next to my bed and pretended to cough/gag into the bowl. (Remember I have been throwing up all last week). I do admit that I am very entertained by her.
