Santa

Cody telling Santa he wants a "Racing Scooter"(meaning a razor scooter).

Nick telling Santa he wants more Hot Wheel Tracks.
After they sat on Santa's lap they got some yummy desert and danced to the music.

The next morning I asked Nick what he told Santa he wanted and he told me the Hot wheels but he needed a couple of questions answered. He wanted to know why Santa did not have glasses on last year and why his voice sounded wired this year? I quickly told him that you did not ware glass last Christmas and maybe Santa eyes went bad like yours. And I told Nick that maybe Santa had a cold because he drives a sleigh at night and he might get sick sometimes. Nick was happy with those answers thank goodness.

My Mom

An update on my mom...
She had emergency open heart surgery about a week and a half ago. What a trooper she is, she is doing great and has been home for a week. She feels better then she has in years, she has energy and can do a lot more things in a day without being wiped out for a week. She did not know that her consistent fatigued was because her heart was not working right. It turns out that she was born with a deformed aortic valve, that will not be detected until it is not functioning right. Her heart was in such bad shape that they said if they did not have the technology to do the surgery she would have no longer then 9 months. Good thing they have the technology, she now has a mechanical Aortic Valve that you can hear tick if it is very quite. Cody can not wait to hear her tick. Thanks to everyone that had her in their prayers, she is doing great and hopefully will not have any more problems.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Yes it was his birthday yesterday and he turned 7 years old, wear does the time go? I can not believe that he is already 7, I miss that little baby that only wanted to be with mommy. Now he just wants to play with friends and be in his room and do his own thing. All I am good for is making his meals( not really but sometimes it seems that way).
Anyways he had a great Birthday and we just spend the day as a family. He got to pick his birthday dinner and what kind of cake and ice cream he wanted, sometimes the kids thing that is the best part of the day. oh wait the best part of the day is gifts, what was I thinking!!!!!!!

This poem was written by a lady in my ward in CA, and I just love it.

The Girl in a Whirl

Look at me, look at me, look at me now!
You could do what I do
If you only knew how.

I study the scriptures one hour each day;
I bake,
I upholster,
I scrub,
and I pray.

I always keep all the commandments completely;
I speak to my little ones gently and sweetly.

I help in their classrooms!
I sew all they wear!
I drive them to practice!
I cut all their hair!

I memorize names of the General Authorities;
I focus on things to be done by priorities.

I play the piano!
I bless with my talents!
My toilets all sparkle!
My checkbooks all balance!

Each week every child gets a one-on-one date;
I attend all my meetings (on time! Never late!)

I’m taking a class on the teachings of Paul,
But that is not all! Oh, no. That is not all …

I track my bad habits ‘til each is abolished;
Our t-shirts are ironed!
My toenails are polished!

Our family home evenings are always delightful;
The lessons I give are both fun and insightful.

I do genealogy faithfully, too.
It’s easy to do all the things that I do!

I rise each day early, refreshed and awake;
I know all the names of each youth in my stake!

I read to my children!
I help all my neighbors!
I bless the community, too, with my labors.

I exercise and I cook menus gourmet;
My visiting teaching is done the first day!

(I also go do it for someone who missed hers.
It’s the least I can do for my cherished ward sisters.)

I chart resolutions and check off each goal;
I seek each “lost lamb” on my Primary roll.

I can home-grown produce each summer and fall.
But that is not all! Oh, no. That is not all …

I write in my journal!
I sing in the choir!
Each day, I write “thank you’s” to those I admire.

My sons were all Eagles when they were fourteen!
My kids get straight A's!
And their bedrooms are clean!

I have a home business to help make some money;
I always look beautifully groomed for my honey.

I go to the temple at least once a week;
I change the car’s tires!
I fix the sink’s leak!

I grind my own wheat and I bake all our bread;
I have all our meals planned out six months ahead.

I make sure I rotate our two-years’ supply;
My shopping for Christmas is done by July!

These things are not hard;
It’s good if you do them;
You can if you try!
Just set goals and pursue them!

It’s easy to do all the things that I do!
If you plan and work smart, you can do them all, too!

OUR BIG NEWS

That right we are finally having baby Number 3!!!!!!!!
So what do you think it is going to be a Girl or Boy, I am only 13 weeks along. Maybe within the month I will find out what it is(keep your fingers crossed).
So let me know, is it a Girl or Boy?

My Big 1st grader

Here is the first day of school picture that you have to take. That the best we could get.

We were so happy to see that Joyce was just as happy to see Nick as he was to see her on the first day of school. They are in the same class again this year and they are so happy about it.
On Wednesday he told me that Joyce kept hugging him at PE.

CODY

Cody had his surgery on Tuesday and everything went good. He went into surgery at 8:30am and we left the hospital at 9:30am. He woke up in the recovery room with on problems and was talking to the nurses. He enjoyed looking at the monitor and watching his heart rate and all that stuff. When I got in there he was sitting up and drinking his juice. When he was done he asked why he did not have a Popsicle because all the other kids had them, so they gave him one. When he was done eating he asked if he could get dressed and go home. The nurse turned to me and said take him home. The only side affect from the surgery is he is getting head acts because he says we are talking to loud. That is good, hopefully he got all his hearing back.

My little Cody

So we finally got Cody Surgery date.... he will be having it on July 22nd and hopefully the surgery will go good. Right now he has an infection in both ears, so hopefully we will be able to clear them up so he can have his surgery on time. Soon he will be feeling good and I am going to miss all the cuddles I am getting with him because he just is not himself.

An update on poor Cody

So we finally got Cody into a ear specialist and what do you know Cody needs to have tubes put in his ears. He has some hearing loss but the Dr. says his hearing will be normal after he gets the tubes put in. He also has some scare tissue in both ears but not enough to cause any problems. One good thing is Cody is not allergic to any dairy products, so we can go back to eating anything we want.
I don't know when his surgery is going to be but I will keep you updated.

Memorial Day

We went to Bonnie Springs it is an old western town, by our house. The boys had so much fun, we went with Larry and his kids.

The end of the year

This is Nick and his "girlfriend" Joyce, they are so cute together. The last week of school they started writing notes to each other. Look at that smile, if I could only get him to smile like that all the time. Hopefully they will be in the same class next year. They are really good friends.

This is Nick and his friend Brendan. They have become good friends over the school year, they are not in the same class, maybe next year they will be!!!

This is Nick teacher Mrs Ruiz, he just loved her. About a month ago we started talking about how he would be in first grade and that he would have a new teacher, and Nick starting crying because he did not want a new teacher. He really did like having her as a teacher. Hopefully next year he will like his new teacher just as much.
