Groundbreaking For Our New Church

Today was a historic day for our town Mission, Texas and the ward members that live here.  We finally are getting our first chapel built here.  We have had to commute to McAllen my whole life to go to church, and now we will have a chapel just a mile away.  What a blessing this will be to the faithful members of our area and it has been a long journey to get this far.  We have gone through trials and tests, neighbors protesting our church, being denied a building permit TWICE, etc!  The church bought the land even though we were denied the permits, what courage and faith!  This has not been easy and because of faith from our leaders and the members we were able to get the help that we needed to get the permits.  Our community is learning what our church is about and we are trying our best to be good examples in our community.  I am so glad to have been a part of this historic moment for our ward.

Our 10 Yr. Wedding Anniversary Celebration

Sam and I celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary Aug. 24th 2011 by going to San Antonio on a little getaway!  We went to the Natural Caverns.  We had such a fun tour and it was so amazing to see the beautiful caves.  We went to The Cheesecake Factory, and then took in a show at the Comedy Club.  We ended the night with renting movies and staying up till the wee hours of the morning eating not so healthy stuff and watching our movies.  Something we have not done in a very long time!  We were so grateful for mom and dad watching Trinity for us while we were gone.  It's always nice to get away and even better when you come home to your family.  10 years of bliss!

Watching the Rain

                                            

Trinity loves looking out the window and watching the rain, when we are lucky and it it does rain.  We have been in a drought for a while now, and on Thursday it rained a little bit.  I caught Trinity looking out the window very thoughtfully.  I love the way she has her hands on her cheeks!  She was excited to see the rain!

Chili Cook Off

We had wonderful time at our 1st Annual Ward Chili Cook Off! Trinity was non stop playing and Sam of course was being "Mr. Competitive" at tug of war, and the sack races. We got a little sun burned and enjoyed some great BBQ and fantastic chili! Trinity was all tuckered out even after a nap. A shower, dinner, and a little Disney she was all ready for bed again. She climbed up on our bed with a blanket and soon after she was ready to dream again. I included a close up picture of her hair. It's growing so long! I love it! I love having fun with good friends and family. Makes for lots of good memories!

Got Caught!

I was in the kitchen making lunch and Trinity was not playing as usual. It was eerily quiet. As I called for her there was total silence. As I looked in the computer room there she was with a mouthful of Robin Eggs that were left on the desk by Sam. He tends to much on something when he works here in the office. Well, she found them and was totally endulging in this "new candy"! Totally caught and totally time to brush those blue lips and teeth!

Grapefruit Day!

Trinity and I had a wonderful time picking the fresh Ruby Red Grapefruit from our tree. This year we had a good bunch and it was so sweet! Luckily it didn't go bad with the small freeze we got this winter. I juiced most of them and we enjoyed the fresh, cool grapefruit juice. The ones you see on the table are just the beginning of the gathering!

Grandma's Shoes

Since my parents live just 5 minutes away sometimes Trinity and I like to stop in and welcome grandma and grandpa home from work. On this day after we welcomed grandma home Trinity went into her closet and picked out the shoes mom was wearing and started walking around in her heels. This is typical Trinity of course because she does this all the time with my shoes! But she started doing a little dress up too when grandma gave her some necklaces to wear also. Keep in mind the higher the heel for Trinity the better! She can reach things she couldn't reach before! And at grandma's house, that's NOT good!! We have a running tab!
