College 2002-2003

I attended Utah State my Freshmen year and lived just off campus with 5 others girls, one of which was a good friend. In my Sophomore year I transferred to Weber State and stayed at home with my parents.

Graduation

Graduation day was finally here. Ben and I had to be there early because we were in the choir and had to practice before the ceremony started. Practice went off without a hitch and then when it was time all the Senior had to go line up in the hallway. All the Student Body Officers, Band Members, and Choir Members were the first to walk out and then followed by the rest of the student body. With the numbers of Officers, Band Members, and Choir Member, Ben and I were able to walk together. I don't know if that made him feel uncomfortable or not, but I was happy. 

The ceremony as usual was long, after sitting now through 4 of them. When it was time they played the Graduation song and all the Senior got ready to walk and receive their diplomas. This of course it the part that takes the longest. When it was finally over we all cheered and it was officially time to celebrate.

We snapped a few pictures we went out to eat and then headed out to party. We planned a Graduation party at Melissa's house. We had goodies and games. We were all there till after midnight. It was so much fun and ironically enough out of all the people who were there only 3 of us were actually the graduating Seniors. 

Seminary Graduation

The end of the year was quickly approaching and one of the main events at the end of the year is Seminary Graduation. I was able to letter each year I was in Seminary plus I was on the Seminary Council my Senior year. At my Stake Graduation they even asked me to perform a special musical number. I was a little apprehensive at first, but Bishop Ritchie told me he would play the piano for me and would work with me until I felt comfortable with it. It was a nice Graduation. The speakers did a great job and I would like to think that the special musical number was just as good. All done and over with was reason to celebrate. At least with Family with it being a Sunday.

Awards Concert

The last choir concert of the year is always the Awards concert. Mrs. Moulton hands out awards for achievements during the year. I was completely surprised by what I received. I knew I was getting the senior award, but that went to every senior every year. The one that took my by surprise was Most Outstanding Choir Student (girl) of the Year. I was blindsided by this and truly appreciated my Choir teacher for awarding this to me. It was sad and a happy moment all at the same time.

Awards Assembly

As all Seniors did, I applied for college and whatever scholarship I thought I was capable of getting. I was awarded one and at the Awards Assembly they presented me with my scholarship. It wasn't huge and grandiose like others, but I was happy with what I had received. I was a recipient of the Utah State Alumni Scholarship. It was $500 a semester for one full school year to be used either for tuition or books. I wasn't sure what I was going to study, but I would do my best since they were helping me along the way.

Now we'll just wait and see what college will bring me.

Choir Tour

I have been in choir since the 7th grade and all with the same teacher. She is an amazing teacher despite what everyone thinks of her. She is really tough and dedicated to what she does that some people would consider her a monster. Well they called her something else, I just never repeated it.

One of the perks of being in Concert Choir and Modern Choir was a choir tour every year. My Sophomore year we went to Las Vegas, my Junior year we went to San Diego, and my Senior year we went to Anaheim. Beside having to sing in front of judges we got to do something fun each year while on tour. While we were in Las Vegas we got to walk the strip and all that that it along with the dinner show at the Excalibur. While in San Diego we went to the San Diego zoo and the award show was at Sea World. In Anaheim we went to a Broadway show The Lion King, and of course went to California Adventure park and Disneyland. Every year I have had a blast and grateful that I was able to go.

My Senior year, both of my parents were able to come as chaperones. As weird as some would think that is, I thought it was awesome. I was glad that my parents wanted to come and be a part of it. This year they would have it easy too. While at the parks they were told as long as we stayed in small groups and kept in contact and checked in with our chaperones, we could go pretty much anywhere while in the park.

It was an awesome tour and I had so much fun. I wouldn't have changed anything. We came out with awards each year as well which made the tours that much better.

Sadly because we were given so much freedom while at the California Adventure Park and Disneyland there weren't any pictures to go along with it.
