Artic Blast Anyone???

So as some of you may know when we got home on Sunday night it had snowed then iced over. It really didn't seem like a big deal since were from Utah and that stuff happens all the time right? Well they canceled school for me all week long. I could understand 1 or even two days, but all week? Come on. Not that I'm complaining because it was nice after a vacation. But the big storm didn't hit till yesterday. And this is what it left us with...



8 inches of snow with a inch of ice on top of it. We thawed out Ryans truck and it took us like 45 minutes to get the inch of ice off the windows. Crazy. It snowed then had freezing rain all night. Later tonight it started snowing agian. Here is a clip.



Just remember. If you think this is nothing this is very unusal for Portland. Last time it snowed like this was in 2003 and they only got 4 inches.

Our trip

Well we've been back from our trip for a week now and I'm finally getting around to posting about it. We had a lot of fun. The first day of our vacation was spent flying...boring..but at least we were on delta and they had individual t.v's so that made the time pass by faster. We got to Orlando at 10:00pm, checked into the hotel, and went to dinner to TGI Fridays at like 11. We were shocked that a restraunt was still open let alone serving food but we found out Orlando stays open all night. The next day we went to Seaworld it which is more fun than Seaworld San Diego, then went to the Blue Man Group that evening. They were the funnest part of the trip. If you ever get a chance to see the Blue Man Group go, they were soooo funny. Monday we left for our cruise. Now our cruise probably was the most boring part of the whole trip. I really wanted it to be exciting so Ryan would want to go agian but it wasn't. It was a small old ship, the food was so so, and it was so windy that they wouldn't let us go to one of our stops and they kept shutting down the decks. So the cruise was just ok. When we did finally get to be on land in the Bahamas it was great!!! We shopped, went to the beach, and went to the hotel Atlantis and swam with dolphins. They were so cute!! We didn't get to take pics of them but we bought a bunch even one of Ryan kissing a dolphin! We got done with our cruise on friday, rented a car and drove to the Kennedy Space station. Took a tour it was pretty cool. We got to see the shuttle land that was even cooler. That night we went to my cousins Ashley and Alex's apartment and they made us dinner. Thanks guys it was great!! The next day we all went to Universal Studios together. It was really fun. Then on Sunday we finally came home. The looooongst flight I've ever been on. 8 hours or something, Thanks Southwest. Well thats our trip, it was fun!!!

Can't Wait till Saturday!!!

We leave for Orlando in 5 days!! Yah! Ryan is even getting really excited about it, so that makes me happy. So I'll post all about it when we get back.

Ryan's Fishing Escapades

Ryan has been going fishing every Thursday for the last month. The result has been good. He has tagged out 12 Coho Salmon and pretty much taken over the whole freezer. A few of the days he has come home with 3 fish (the most he can catch in a day). Here are some pics of him and his fish.

These are our pumpkins this year. Mine is a ghost, and Ryan's pumpkin was so big that he made a skelaton on one side and a ship on the other side.

Crabbing

Yesterday we went to the ocean to go and catch some crabs. We only caught a few but we couldn't keep them because they were females. But it was still really fun anyways. We started off by feeding the seagulls. They really liked cheetos.

This is the crab trap they are really heavy when you are pulling them out of the water. I slipped once and hit my cheek on the boat.

Orlando! And the Bahamas! I'm soooo excited!!! Ryan and I are finally going to take a honeymoon trip in December. (I call it a honeymoon trip because we never got to go on ours) We are going to fly to Orlando on a Saturday, go do something fun, see my cousins who live there, then go on a 5 day 4 night cruise to the Bahamas which will leave on a Monday. We'll get back on friday and go do something fun in Orlando friday & Saturday then fly home on Sunday. It will be a blast!! Eight days of pure fun. Can't wait!

I just thought I would show you Ryans little toy. His boat. He loves this thing! We bought it this summer and have only been able to take it out a few times. Ryan is so funny about it, I keep it at my school and every single day he asks me to go check on it and make sure its ok. You would think it was alive or something.

Our Weekend Trip

So this last weekend Ryan and I went for a little trip. We drove down to southern Oregon on Saturday morning to go to a steer sale and then we stayed the night in Medford, Oregon. I really wanted to drive over to the beach on Sunday morning and drive all the way up Hwy 101 beccause its beautiful, but I had never driven from Medford to the coast so we ask a friend we saw at the sale what was the best way there and he told us Hwy. 199. So we take Hwy 199 and are driving for ever, then suddenly we came to a fruit and veggie check point. Then we all the sudden realized we had drove an hour and a half south to Northern California! Holy Moly. Then we had to keep going on that road and ended up in...... are you ready........

THE REDWOOD FOREST!!!!!!!

That is soooooooo far away from our house. Well it ended up being really cool seeing all the big tall trees and I think Ryan really liked it too. Here is a picture of him in one of the trees.


We finally ended up on the coast & drove up Hwy.101 and landed at the West Coast Wild Animal Park. It was a interactive petting zoo were you could pet wild animals and feed them. They had so many lions, tigers, monkeys, kangaroos, bears, ect. that were so close to you. It was awesome.

What We've done in Oregon so far.

Ok so this may be kinda long, lots of pics, but I thought I would share with everyone some of the fun things we have done since we have been living here. (I can only put stuff on since we got our digital camera sorry) So sit back and check it out!!!

Silver Falls State Park: This State Park was absolutely beautiful. This is where they filmed Last of the Mohicans. It was a 7 mile hike and there was tons of water falls. We only walked 5 miles and it took us most of the day.



Oregon is so mossy. It grows everywhere. On trees, on roofs, where ever. Kinda Creepy!

Lincoln City & the Sea Lion Caves: The sea lion cave was so cool. You take an elevator clear down to the bottom of a cave and you look at hundreds of sea lions. It was interesting but it stunk.

Sea lions hangin out on all the rocks. The rocks were so steep it seriously looked like it would hurt to get on them.




Light house outside of the calves. There are fun lighthouses like this all over the coast.





Ryan's Fishing: Ryan loves to fish here in Oregon. Actually he would be happy as a camper if he went fishing every single day. We have tons more pics of fish I'll have to have him download them tomorrow. But here is one fish he caught, the other pics are of his friend DJ (Fishing buddy) and some of the rivers he goes on.




Wilson River in Tillamook: Very fun there, but rains all the time!




Sandy River: Only 1/2 hour from our house. (new fishing spot)



The Beach: We don't go to the beach to often it takes us about an hour and a half to get there, but it is really pretty!! We have gone crabbing in a bay that was fun (I have pics but they were on our old camera) we went to see fireworks there on our first 4th of July in Oregon and it was HORRIBLE! I was so excited thinking it would be romantic watching fireworks over the ocean, but it was nothing like that. It was caotic, sooooo smokey, and way to many people. Needless to say we didn't do that agian. But here are some pics of when its pretty. The second one is of a old ship wreck we found.





Once was the largest Sitka Spruce Tree: This tree was sooooo big and pretty, then one night we got a crazy wind storm (like 80-90 mph) and it broke in half. Ryan always goes fishing by it and we always used to stop and look at it on our way to the beach.






Aviation Museum: Ok so I really don't think Ryan wanted to go to this museum but he was nice enough to tell me I could go where ever I wanted so we went here. It was kinda cool because they had the Spruce Goose that Howard Huges made. It is huge!!!



My computer is really slow and im tired so I will have to continue this tomorrow. Stay tuned.......

I Finally Started a Blog!!!

So today my cousin Ashley helped me set up a blog. It was so fun and I can finally keep in better contact with friends and family because I am horrible at calling and emailing. So keep checking in for more posts!
