Baby

Here is our newest addition to the Family. She is a basset hound mix, It was very hard to get her to hold still for the pictures.

Mommie's new car

So her she is photos long awaited my new car. They call it Carmine Red, it's more of a purple plum color. We love our baby car as Rich calls it.

Hardtop

The hardtop we ordered to handle those European winters ha ha. Richard wanted to cancel it when we found out we weren't going but, I decided I wanted to keep it. So after the hardtop arrived, Richard took Rich for a ride to check it without then we installed the new hardtop. We are so glad to longer have a huge hole in the back window (sorry Rich's crocs). It is suppose to help with gas milage. We have already found out it inproves the stereo and reduces ground noise.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhh

Ah Dust storms in Iraq hope doesn't come when I suppose to come home so I can get out of here ontime.

So it has been more than a month since my last post. I completed my first class at NAU toward my bachekor's in Public management with a 87.5%. I am never taking a 5 week class again. 16 weeks of work in 5, I felt like all I did was read and reread my 2 books over and over again. ( It was easy to get lost when Airplanes are calling you on the radio) I should be home in less than 30 days and am excited about that. Hoping all this dependent clearance stuff works out. So we can be on our way by mid October. If it takes too long I might have to push my date back another month. Working 12 hour days 6 days a week is exhausting. I am definately ready for my 2 weeks of uncharged leave when I get back.

Here are my buddies and me for the first 2 months I was here more to follow. It should not be 101 degrees at 0130 in the middle of a dust storm.

Deployment

Half way thru and made a bunch of new friends. 9 of new friends have already gone home. I made 9 more, 3 more are on to another deployment. I can't wait to get back to real life. Have more than 24 hours when I don't have to go to work. Everyday is the same AMC is referred to as airplanes might come. Are they going to be late, have all our pax and cargo, have room or be able to make room for all our pax and cargo. What kind of new problems are they going to find today for us to fix. I can't wait to get home I miss my husband, babies, my parents, my siblings and all my nieces and nephews.

being Bored

So this week the Army final went thru and blocked evreything. On the Internet that is, even the backdoors we had found to sites like Facebook and EBuddy. So this week we played phase 2 days in a row. I have 4 months left and never want to play phase 10 again. 8 hours total playing Phase 10 is too many. We played dominos and all the guys started building models. If they cared about our morale you really think they would leave these sites unblocked. I have to pay 10 dollars to have internet in my room for one day or 95 for a month. They have a 50 dollar plan but it is so slow it is a total waste.

We just got a new crew of aerial porters, the people that load and unload the planes they seem pretty cool so far. But, all my new friends the old aerial porters will be missed.

Ah, a day off

So another day another $3.50 as they say over here. $3.50 is the per Diem rate we get. It was a great day off, our Iraq spa day we called it. I had to get a hair cut the hair in the back was getting really long. I didn't get the sides cut though I don't want to lose any length. Here I am looking super sexy, how I walk around base when I'm not working. I have added a picture of an old Iraqi anti aircraft gun. It's pretty cool. We had another really nasty storm last night. I was off work so I was sleeping. The visibility was less than 200 meters. Wish I had been awake. I woke up to 2 inches of dust on everything outside. Yes we are in a desert but this has only been the second really gross storm I have been here for.

We were bored

On raining mornings here we have to find something fun to do. We went four wheeling in a 2 wheel drive ranger. The 4x4 has a flat or else we would have been out racing each other. It was a fun morning and great stress releif. We got soaking wet and a little muddy, but that was that was the point. The tires got covered in mud after about half an hour so we were pretty much done. Then we had to get the mud off. We drove through the yard and all the puddles and that's when we got soaked.

Easter

Here are my Babies enjoing easter at Grandma's house. Mommie had an awesome lunch on Easter it was almost like Thanksgiving how much food we had. They had ham, prime rib, turkey, pork roast, mash potatoes, really yummy sweat potatoes, cake and they were even serving root beer floats and sparkling cider. They ham and sweet potatoes were my favorite. It was a great day candy and Jelly beans were also everywere. It was the best meal I have had since I've been here. Other that Quesadilla Wednesday. I have pictures from our meal included too.

Letter writing.

I have received a package stuffed with envelopes and writing paper. I have taken it on as a mission to write one letter every night I am at work. So be ready to get them. Mail is free from here so don't worry about sending me stamps. It would be nice If you could answer occasionally as it is always nice to receive mail.

Tucson Snow!

I missed it again! Just before we moved to Tucson is Febuary 2007 it snowed. I was gone for one week to Florida and it snowed again. Here are the pictures my husband captured to show me the Tucson snow.

Hurlburt Field

I been TDY the last week to Hurlburt Field in Northwest, Florida. My mom was able to come visit for 4 of the 6 days I was there. We went to 3 exchanges and 2 mini malls while there. It was a very busy week. We tried to make it too a movie but, that didn't work out the day we had it planned was the only day we got done after 3pm. Image our surprise when we saw these... They are the only ospreys in the Air Force and they are assigned to Hurlburt Field. We watched them take-off in awe they are pretty cool.

Promotion

As of December 22 I was promoted to SrA. I worked so hard being in the Airforce for 28 months to earn it.

Crazy Month

The busy life of an Air Force mom. Yearly exercises have made work crazy for this month. I work 3 days have today off work 3 more days have Monday off then work 3 Nights, ugh. Then I have 3 days off and was going to make a run to Phoenix for the weekend. I just realized I will be gone for half a year. I know 6 months half a year it's just with it all coming up so fast it just hit me.

Hello 2009!!!

Well I worked New Year's eve it sucked. I missed all the parties, I was invited to 2 even though they knew I had to work. We had no DUI's this year which is totally awesome(meaning I didn't have to work too hard). Hope you all had a safe and Happy New Years.
