Gingerbread house & a Walker

At school on Friday Kindra got to make a gingerbread house. It was so much fun to watch her a her classmates get creative. The houses all turned out perfect. Kindra is so proud of little house.

Last night I put Walt in his walker so he would not crawl into a mess on the floor. He did not like very much. Later he found the walker stood up next to it and discovered that if he pushed it it would move. He walked all over the house pushing his walker.

A new use for a walker.

Snow Day

"NO SCHOOL"

We I got a phone call at 6:30 am last Wednesday I was unsure what was up. No school my friend said it a snow day. At that time it was only raining in 29. I laughed a little and thought of going to school as kid is over a foot of fresh snow. I told the girls that I wanted to try to get some Christmas pictures in front of the tree (what fun we had). By 10:00 it was snowing, 1979 was the last time there was this much snow in 29. The whole town shut down. A total of 4 -6 inches of snow on the ground. I thought it was beautiful! The girls loved playing in the snow.

While the girls were outside playing in the snow I found Water on the kitchen floor eating dryout suger cookies I had just put int he trash can. He sure like them.

Math & Cookies

Kindra is in 3rd Grade this year and is doing really good. Yesterday was the awards assemble for the first trimester. Kindra was chosen from her class the get the Math Award. I am so proud of her and all the work she has been doing in school.

When she got home home from school she wanted to make up her own recipe for candy cane cookies. I encouraged her to experiment with a recipe that she all ready likes. She took her favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe and made cookies all by herself. They turned out really good. I am so proud of her! My own little chef.

American Girl Trip

About 4 months ago some of the girls from Church decided it would be fun to go to the American Girl Store in LA together. Kindra got all excited about the trip, but I wanted to make sure that this was something Kindra wanted and was willing to work towards. We told Kindra that if she wanted something from the store that she would have to purchase it with her own money. So the money saving began. She helped out extra around the house, did a yard and bake sale with some friends and read some American girl books. In the end with the help of Grandparents she ended up with $89.98. So off we went to LA. The group had 10 girls 7 mothers and Walter.

We all know Kindra love of Dolls NOT!!! She found a horse in a doll store that she had to have. She was just as excited about the horse as her friends were about their dolls. The horse is the colt Patriot from the American Girl story Felicity.


Audrey walk around the store with the biggest eyes all morning. She came up to me and asked if I would get her a doll. I thought about it for a minute and said not until you are 8. I can't imagine spend 90.00 on a doll for a 4 year old. She said she had some money, she opened her hand and handed me $6.34. That's a lot of money for a 4 year old. Being the soft mother that I am I found a mini doll of the one she wanted. That made her happy.

It was a fun time. Thanks to Whitney for putting it all together.

Slow Down

Most days in my life I want to put in slow motion. Walt is one of the big reasons why. He is so cute, but growing so fast. It is so much fun having a little boy in our house.

Walt is crawling everywhere, and is really fast at it. It seams like I am always asking Audrey "Where did Walt go?" He love the girls room SCARRY!! way to many little things.


Walt went on his first backpack trip to Deep Creek on Veterans Day. He was such a good sport. Sleep on the way there and back. Just like his sisters.

Walter new accomplishment is that he has learned to pull himself up to stuff. He is so proud of himself when he does it.

Thanks to Uncle Steve Walt love to stand on Dad hands. At first it scared me, but now it just makes me smile.

My little boy the the laundry. Folded or unfolded it does not matter, he will take it ot of the basket.

I love being a mom of such a cute little boy!

Halloween Week

We went out to check out the camp sites for next weekend in the National Park. No matter what we say the girls just can't keep from climbing the rocks. If Kindra can go up Audrey thinks she can to. Coming down is a different story.

Walt has been eating baby food for awhile the other night I gave him a baby carrot. He loved it, I think it felt good on his teeth.

Carmel Apples

This year I taught the girls how to make carmel apples. Kindra really got into it. She even deocrated her apples with nuts and sprinkles.

Audrey discovered that carmel is hot when melted and stayed away until she could put her own sprinkles on.

Pumpkin Carving

Audrey got her dad to help clean the guts out of the pumpkin. She did not like the feel of the insides.

Kindra on the other hand loved every single part of it. Ithink that there was pumpkin inside all over the dining room. She did the carving all by herself.

Team Avatar
The girls decided that this year the family was going to be team Avatar. For those of you who don't know about Avatar it is a show on Nickalodion. The whole family loves to watch.

Dad = Socka

Kindra = Ang

Audrey = Toph

The only problem is that I could only find a costom to purchase that was Ang. Big Problem!

I was asked to make everyone else costome. I told the girls I would start with Toph and see how it went. I finished Audrey costome at 1:00 on Halloween afternoon.

Last Sunday

October 25th, 2008

After church last Sunday Kindra and Audrey came running out of their room asking to call their cousins. We live so far away from family that keeping that relationship is hard when you only see someone once or twice a year. I gave Kindra my cell phone and called her cousin Melissa. Then I handed Audrey the land line and called Caleb. Caleb was not at home so we called Grandma Nelson.

After I gave Kindra the phone I did not hear her I think Kindra and Melissa talked for over one hour. When Kindra got off the phone she said that they was so much fun and asked if she could call Missy again soon.

Audrey was pretty upset that she could not talk to Caleb or Curtis. She decided that talking to Grandma was pretty good. She spent the whole time on the phone dancing around the living room.

Walt enjoy his Sunday. He is trying to cut his front teeth, we are calling him the happy drool monster. He is crawling everywhere and is getting so fast at it.

Smiles, Computer and Crazy Hair

Our lives have been really crazy this last few weeks, but I think things are calming down. Here are some of the highlights of our weekend.

Walt's 2 tooth smile. This little guy is always makes me smile. He is turning into a mama boy.

Audrey loves the computer and will spend hours playing on pbs kids if I let here.

Last Friday at school was crazy hair day. Kindra's hair stayed like that all day, at her doctors appointment and soccer game. I thing she used half a bottle of conditioner to get it out.

Walt is crawling everywhere. Clean up the pet shops here comes Walt.

Tammie Tagged me on this fun game, I don't get into this kind of stuff very often, but I love pictures. This pictures is of Mom, Alan and Chryl in Italy waiting for the boat to take us to Venice. It was really cold that December day!

He Did It

I am proud to announce that Ray did it he ran is first Marathon. Ray completed the Long Beach Marathon in 4 hours and 23 minutes. I can't run 3 miles let alone 26.2. I am so proud of him and this accomplishment.

During Rays race Kindra participated in the kids run. Where is ran 1 miles in about 6 minutes. I am proud of Kindra and her ability to work so hard.

Motherhood

When I was growing up I wanted to be a mom so bad. I looked forward to getting married and having kids. When I ask Audrey what she wants to be when she grows up she said she wanted to be a mom and a princess. I think it is a good goal, but then there are the days.
When you have to wonder why did know one tell me about, the dirty diapers that stink, laundry that never stay clean, the bathrooms that always need to be cleaned, the kitchen floor that is covered in something sticky & dog hair, the beds that somehow are always a mess, the toys that multiply when you leave the room, the piles of paper that never seams to end, the books that are covered in dust because you don't have time to sit down a ready them, the dust so thick that you can write your name it it, and the dishes that are always over flowing the sink.

When I start to feel this way I wonder, what am I doing! Then some little person comes up to me and says "Mom your the best mom in the world". And I say to myself I LOVE BE A MOM. One day in the not so distant future I am going to miss this.

To all the mothers out there remember that these little blessing grow up so fast. It will not be long and I will sleep all night, and there are only two glasses in the sink. So I am going to enjoy today.

Old Time Photos

A company came to base and took old time photo, I got my back yesterday. They turned out so cute. I fell in love. I was unsure what they would look like because we came from soccer practice the day of the photo shoot. I just had to share them with everyone.

Saying Good By

My fugi camera has taken 20,267 picture.

It has been a good four years with me beloved Camera. Ray has told me many time that it was the best gift he as ever given me. I think, he might be right. But this summer my prized camera started acting funny. It might have something to due with the may times it has been droped off things, the large number of outdoor activites it has been on and the trip into a hot spring. The pictures started having digital errors. I tried everything I could to figure out why, because not every picture had the problem. Finaly I gave up and started shopping for a replacement. I felt bad in a way like I was going to leave a part of me behind.

After alot of research and talking to people I have purchased a Nikon D80. It will do so much, and my prayer is that with a lot of work and study, and a photography class at CMCC in January that I will be able to take it off the Auto setting. I am really exicted!!

I am exited to see the places this camera will, the moments it will capture and the memories it will document. My camera's future is waiting.
