Coldplay Concert

The coldplay concert was amazing. I bought tickets last spring and so was way excited, but I had no idea what to really expect. I started to like Coldplay a few years ago but haven't been an obsessed fan or anything. Just really liked their music and their new cd. I was totally blown away. They were so full of energy and fun. I was so impressed with Chris Martin playing the piano, then jumping around and singing while picking up a guitar, and then ending with a piano solo all during one song. They interacted a lot with the crowd and even left the stage to come flying out of the back end corner of the stadium playing a couple of their songs in the middle of the people. They were so hot and their stage rocked out. I loved every second of the concert. Too bad Chris says at age 31 he is too old to be playing music and plans to retire in a year or so. How disappointing.

I love the Fall

This fall has been such a great one. Jeff and I celebrated our 29 year of life. He is two week older and still thinks being older is a cool thing!! Honestly...I can't believe I am almost 30. We have been busy trying to work on projects around the yard. A guy from our ward asked if Jeff started up a construction company. It made me laugh. He borrowed his dad's bobcat and he and his brother and nephew laid cement to extend our patio and have a place for a shed. He also made me a good size area for a garden which I am way excited to have. Jeff is so amazing. After a long day of laying cement he went over to his nieces house to help lay their hardwood floor in which he said he was working like a maniac. Seriously I don't know how he does it, but he amazes me all the time.


I am still trying my hand at the domestic life. My mother-in-law taught me how to bottle peaches and this week I am dehydrating apples. As lame as it sounds I have enjoyed both of them.


But for real fun I finally saw the theater production of THRILLER with Jeff and his family. It was a lot of fun and I highly recommend seeing it. I also went with an old friend Brooke Adamson to the Scarecrow Festival by Thanksgiving Point and Gavin loved it. He laughed the whole way through the haunted house. I also went to Gardner Village to see the witches a couple of times which is also way fun.


Halloween was a blast taking Gavin around for the first time Trick-Or-Treating. He looked so darn cute I could have eaten him up.

Highlights of Our Summer

Because I seem to fail at the weekly or daily blogging, I decided to take a moment and just share our highlights from our summer so far. We have had a fantastic summer and I can't believe it is coming to a end. Starting with the most recent:

• A nephew leaving on a mission to New Zealand on my birthday. LUCKY!
• We became first time Great Aunt and Uncle on September 8th.
• My divorced brother announced his engagement to a girl we have met once. Shouldn't I be excited?
• Jet skiing in Preston in the most glass like lake I had been to. During this short stay our 2 year old nephew sprayed jet ski degreaser all over his privates when no one was looking. In screaming agony he pulled down his underwear and said "Daddy, kiss my owey".
• Surprising Jeff with a nice date for our 3 year 1st date anniversary on August 20th. We enjoyed an awesome stake dinner and Ruth Chris's.
• Going to Lagoon on "Walmart-Employee" day (I wouldn't recommend it)!
• Attending my 10 year anniversary. It was fun seeing friends but disappointing that the people I wanted to see that I haven't seen in years, didn't attend.
• A new niece born July 24th Josie Pulley.
• Painting our laundry room lime green. It's fun but don't forget your sunglasses.
• Quiting Work in July. There's nothing like being a stay at home mom. I love it...I love it...I love it.
• Discovering after Gavin started screaming frantically over nothing that he cutout a large piece of his cornea with his finger nail. OUCH! Thankfully the eye is quick healing and after a few days it had healed over.
• Spelling my name with my butt in front of the Rose Creek 1st ward during Heber Valley Stake Young Women's camp to rescue our Stake YW President. How embarrassing! Camp lasted a week and I did other skits and stuff to embarrass myself. Although I came home emotionally, and physically drained I had such a great time getting to know the girls in our Stake. I have the best calling!
• Getting in a laughing match with my 15th month old.
• Purchasing Cold Play tickets for a concert in November.
• River rafting in Idaho on a family reunion trip. Like a dork I got our canoe singing row row row your boat in beautiful harmony. Jeff just looked at me half smiling & half shaking his head.
• Going on a two week Mediterranean cruise with Jeff's family. It was truly amazing and the best vacation I have ever been on.

Mom actually went to the zoo!

My mom actually made it to the zoo with me, my sister Stephanie, and her kids. It has been well more than a year since my mother has left the house to do something fun like this. Besides going to the movie maybe once a year, she doesn't get out. My mom suffer from poor health and although we persist that she get out of the house she has a difficult time doing it. We had such a great time. My mom's knees are messed up so it is difficult for her to walk. Stephanie and I promised if she went we would push her in the wheel chair. Little did we remember that the zoo if full of hills. We all about died laughing the first hill my sister went down with my mom. They were going so fast and out of control that she about killed both of them. Mom was a great sport and spoiled the grandkids with the train ride, merry-go-round and ice cream.

Gavin's 1st Birthday

I can't believe that I have a one year old. I don't have a baby any more which makes me sad, yet I love that he is getting older and showing more personality. Gavin starting walking without the walls and furniture on his birthday. I did a barnyard themed party and my nephew was so kind to bring his 20 year old pony to take the kids and/or adults for a ride. I made a cow cake that he was thrilled to dig into and make a mess. I had to stop him when he starting getting cake in his hair and we cleaned him off with the hose. The party was fun but I was quite exhausted and am glad it is all over, just 17 more to plan!!! It was awesome though and well worth the effort to make it fun for everyone.

What I wouldn't do for a nap!!

Last week in church Jeff and Gavin were sleeping in this exact pose in the foyer. Some of the Young Women were laughing and told me my husband was snoring. Jeff was so embarrassed! Two hours after we got home, I snapped this picture.

Costa Rica

Thanks to my sister-in-laws boyfriend, we were able to stay in an amazing house in Costa Rica at no cost. Jeff had to talk me into it because I didn't want to leave my then 7 month old. I am so glad he did. Costa Rica is amazingly beautiful. It is uncrowed, has amazing food, and criters of all sorts. I was able to go with my old friend Erica who is now my sister-in-law. We had been many places together as teenagers, but I would have never guess years down the road we would be married to brothers and going foreign. If you ever get the chance to go there, it's worth it.
