Julia is 13!

Our little girl is a teenager!
She started the day with birthday cake pancakes.  This is what they looked like on the internet.

Ours looked less fancy, but they were still delicious.
She had to open presents before school so she could wear her new shoes.
All in all, it was a very pink birthday.
Happy Birthday Julia!

Halloween 2011

Finally, on the afternoon of Halloween, we had time to carve our pumpkins.
Some scary faces
They were done just in time to light them up and put them on the front porch
Toby the poodle pirate
(He keeps licking his lips since Julia was feeding him roasted pumpkin seeds.
For some reason he loves seeds.)

You can tell he isn't liking this one so much

Happy Halloween!

Pink Sparkly Toms

Julia's number one item on her birthday list is pink sparkly Toms.  We were at the mall so she just wanted to try them on.  Of course they had just the ones she wanted, so why not just buy them now?  Then we won't have to worry about it when it actually is her birthday in 3 weeks.

This girl has always had trouble waiting for her birthday.  Anyone remember her 4th birthday?
Boo in the box was quite famous by the time the big day finally rolled around.

Yosemite and Twain Harte

The kids had no school on Friday, so it was perfect timing for a trip to Twain Harte.  We spent the first day in Yosemite.
Bridal Veil Falls

El Capitan
Swinging Bridge
Yosemite Falls above the bridge

Lower Yosemite Falls
The resting hikers
High five from the bear in the Yosemite store
Half Dome
The next day we went to Columbia.  Josh's first item of business was the Sarsaparilla

The old Columbia school house
Twain Harte Lake

It was a fun 3 days of swimming, hiking and relaxing at the cabin!
