Double trouble

We joke that we have two molds in our family --
Ivy and Mae belong to one,
Olive and Eleanor in the other.
These girls are two little peas in a pod!
Not only do they look the most like each other, they act like it too!
My two little sassy pants.
It's no secret that Eleanor only insists on wearing dresses.  Like every. single. day.
And since we basically skipped winter in Utah this year,
its pretty much bearable to wear dresses and not freeze.
They came to run errands with me and were so excited to coordinate
in their Old Navy dresses.
The new spring line makes me so so excited for continued warmer temperatures.

Also, please bless I can figure out a way to keep my girls at their current age right now.
I am loving life at the moment and do not want it to change.
Yes it is so busy, but I feel so fulfilled and couldn't love my little family more.
I'll forever cross my fingers that they will always want to run errands with mom.

Resolutions

 January always calls for new goals,

and like most people, fitness is usually one goal that is on my list.

I love love love my morning pilates class, 

but I've challenged myself (and my family)

to get outside more and explore our beautiful state.

I admit that a huge motivator for me in getting fit is new activewear,

and I tend to buy things that I would be okay wearing all day -

because let's be honest, I usually just keep my workout clothes on after a workout.

This pullover sweatshirt is seriously one of my favorites!!!

I bought it a few months ago and wear it all. the. time.

And when I saw that Old Navy launched a fitness Olympic line I was so excited.

The Patten family is counting down the days until the winter Olympics start --

Christmas traditions

With a little bit of sadness in my voice, 

this is the very first year we are staying home for Christmas.

We usually spend the holiday down in St. George with our families,

but last year Chris and I decided that we needed to start our own traditions in our own home.

I go back and forth almost daily on excitement and sadness,

but as the days get closer and closer the more excited I really am.

My parents usually do Christmas Eve pajamas with my siblings and cousins

and I knew that was one tradition I wanted to keep alive -

except instead of getting them on Christmas Eve I thought it would be fun

to get them earlier in the month so we could wear them leading up to the holidays.

I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see my girls every morning dressed in

their Christmas jammies.

I searched high and low for the perfect pajamas and fell in love with what 

Old Navy had to offer this year.

I snagged this set for myself,

these matching onesies for the three big girls,

this two piece set for Eleanor,

(I can't find the red/green/white ones online)

and last but not least, this amazing onsie for our Christmas loving daddy!!

Chances are high that we will all be wearing these pajamas well after the holidays are over.

Chris and I have a running list of other traditions we are wanting to start, 

hopefully I can share a few more soon. 

It will be interesting to see how this year plays out.

Regardless of what traditions are made, and what aren't,

we are forever grateful to be together as a family.

Two weeks and counting!!!

Diaper drama

  No I am not potty training Eleanor, although I probably should.

She shows a lot of signs, but to be honest, I am ignoring them all.

Potty training is seriously my nemesis.  

I like to wait until my girls basically figure it out of their own ;)

That being said, since she is still in diapers and getting older 

she is getting pretty opinionated on how her diapers fit....

I swear we have fits every time I change her diaper that they are too tight, or not on right.

The past little while I have been on the hunt to find the perfect diaper - 

we've tried all sorts of brands and then I came across Comforts™ diapers 

when I was grocery shopping at Smiths.  

The fact that it said "Comfort" in the title had me intrigued.  

I bought a small pack to try and crossed my fingers she would like them.

I kid you not - the first time I put one on her she said, 

"mom, these soft!"

HALLELUJA!

Seriously not a single fit or squirm from her.

I didn't want to get my hopes up in case they didn't hold up well,

but I'm here to attest, they have been awesome!!!

The absorbency is great!  Eleanor wakes up in the morning 

with a full wet diaper but rarely does it leak. 

Sorry is this TMI?

I'm just here to help another mama out who is tired of fighting their child 

at every diaper change :)

Not only are they super soft and comfortable they come in two darling prints!

(which are gender neutral)

Who doesn't love a little baby bum in a cute diaper?

Win win all around in my book.

I also grabbed a package of the Comfort™ wipes and actually really quite liked them as well.

Apparently they have been upgraded,

I don't know what they were before, but now they are soft but still thick!

The package says they are hypoallergenic which explains why they are so soft on the skin.

Not only do we use our wipes for diaper changing, 

but my big girls are constantly asking for wipes to clean up sticky hands

and they have loved these as well.

I got the sensitive kind and all my girls at one point or another commented on 

how soft they were. 

I guess that is a perk in their eyes ;)

So until I decide to bite the bullet and potty train Eleanor

 Mid November and we haven't even seen a single snow flake!

Whaaaa!?

I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad.

(of course we all know I'm happy)

But I do admit, that when the holidays come around I love to bundle up 

and get in the spirit of the season. 

With our last trip to the lake last month, I finally packed away our swimsuits

and hit up Old Navy for some must have winter staples.

You guys!  I've said this a million times, but Old Navy is killllllling it!

I wanted to buy everything!

Especially sherpa.

Um, and maybe I might have.

I seriously walked away with three sherpa jackets ---- just for myself.

and then this zip up that I literally wear every single day.

They are all so good!

If you are anything like me, come winter time, all color goes out the door 

and I always lean towards wearing muted colors.

Black, whites, and grays are my go to.

Even for the girls.

I about died when I saw this sweet pinafore for Eleanor. 

She loves it and begs to wear it everyday.

That gold detail?  Oh gosh, I love it!

The cold will definitely be an adjustment for her, 

she currently refuses to wear jeans or tights at the moment.

It's basically a dress everyday and sometimes I can convince her to put on some leggings.

Heaven help us.

Regardless I'm ready to sit inside and watch the snow fall with a mug of hot chocolate.
