End of Summer Fun!!!

I returned to work this week but before I did, our family indulged in a few activities…

Baseball….

Riding the Rapids while camping…

And 2 hours of free bowling with amazing raffles!

Yep, I think we closed the summer with much excitement!! Until the next time….We will miss you, summer.

The Past Few Months…..

So, I’ve been horrible about blogging since April.  Hopefully you’ll find these brief pictures provide a little insight into the busy life of the Farrell Clan!

May:

Josh and I travelled to Arizona with my mom.  While there, I graduated with my master’s, we visited with old friends, and Josh was reunited with a missionary companion he hadn’t seen in over 11 years!

June till Now:

A whole lot of fun in the sun!!  Ocean Breeze Waterpark, Zoo with Mimi, swimming with cousins, and of course….the beach!!

We traveled to Louisiana for Spring Break, main purpose...Josh and his brother, Eddie, replaced the roof on their Grandma T's house. But we were able to have a little fun, too! (Brace yourself for oodles of pictures!)

What taking a Break is all about!

JJ shares his birthday with his Uncle Eddie.  On that day, Josh and Eddie worked later than planned on the roof (Eddie later than Josh).  Eddie told Josh that we should sing happy birthday to JJ without him. When we suggested it to JJ, he said, "It's Uncle Eddie's birthday, too.  I can wait!" So, at 8:30 pm, we sang Happy Birthday to a couple of great guys!

Of course, before we left...We had to visit NEW ORLEANS!

I love the talent found there...

Within the past year, we've visited Louisiana at least 3 times...I think we kinda like it there!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

And boy, will we have many opportunities for just that this spring!! J.J.'s opening day of baseball was yesterday! It's so much fun to watch the excitement on those little faces as the first (of many!) game days gets started!


The parade is so cute! Every player in the league gets dressed in uniform, from peewee to even the big boys who think they're too cool! Each team makes a banner that is posted outside their dugout at each game.

It brought tears to my eyes as every player put their hat over their heart while one of the older softball players sang the National Anthem.

Then it was time to get warmed up and PLAY SOME BALL!

Our Little Actor

The first grade at JJ's school performed a rendition of the musical, West Side Story. The girls were cats and the boys were dogs, and as we all know, cats and dogs do not get along!


When the musical started, I discovered that JJ had a major role in the musical. He was a puppy who didn't understand why he couldn't play with a cat. He and his kitten counterpart test the boundaries of what was expected and decided to play together.

Not only did I not know that JJ had a "leading" role, but we were surprised to hear JJ sing a little duet with his friend, the kitten.

Dragon Dash 2012

Luxford Elementary PTA presents the

6th Annual Dragon Dash

The race consists of a toddler dash, 1 mile race, and a 4K. Kelsy and JJ participated in the 1 mile with Petey running the toddler dash.

(Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the ceremony with them, needed to prepare for the Easter Egg Hunt at church that was immediately following...Thanks to my friend, Jenn, for taking pictures for me!)

JJ came in second place for Boys age 5-6! He was determined that he was going to place this year, and he did it!!!
