I'm ba-a-a-ck!

I am posting today to let you know that I am going to be posting here on a regular basis. I recently told Reed I was going to do this and he laughed like it really wasn't going to happen. Then Meg told me her dad has started writing again and how much she is enjoying it. I went to his blog and read his last post. I found it totally inspiring. Rather than re-state what he said I thought you might enjoy just reading his. He's quite a writer.

I'll be honest. I'm very intimidated when it comes to writing anything that is going to be public. I don't feel clever or funny and I know my skills for grammar and punctuation are poor at best. I am going to set that aside and not worry about any judgement people might make. My story, our story, is more important. I am going to start posting some place safe...this blog. Then possibly get skilled enough in the English language that I might be confident enough someday that I could share on a bigger scale. Time will tell! Anyway, I just wanted to make you aware of my intentions so I will be more likely to follow through.

I am excited to share our life as empty nesters, grand parents and life here in Southern Utah. Watch for posts on most Sundays!

30 Years...and many more!

We recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Wow, it seems just like yesterday. It's been an amazing ride. We're looking forward to 30 more! We spent some down time in St George, going for walks, eating at our favorite haunts and watching an equal amount of guy flicks and chick flicks! Nice quiet time, just the two of us.

Our children surprised us with this fabulous bouquet of fruit and chocolate dipped fruit with this sentiment. "Happy 30th Anniversary! We love you so much. Thanks for being such wonderful parents.

I love those "pay-days." It really was delicious and fun.

BTW - Thirty-three years ago when my "employed" boyfriend and I were dating, he would buy expensive and frequent gifts. I was un-employed for the most part and never had money to reciprocate on the same level. When I would protest at his generosity, he would reply "not bad for a buck ninety-eight!" On our wedding day, he found inscribed inside his wedding band, $1.98. There are 198 reasons I love my husband, a 198 times he's overlooked a mistake (ok, ok I know there have been more...maybe a 198 times this month!) and a 198 dreams I have for our future!

What I Know for Sure

Being a grandma rocks! And watching your children be amazingly wonderful spouses and parents, in spite of you, is almost as good. I am LOVING every minute of it. For now we have two amazing grandsons Will (2) and Sam (6 weeks). Our first granddaughter (Lucy?) will arrive anytime. I'm hoping to be in Memphis for the exciting day!

Life is for Sharing

I recently made the statement "what would I blog about, my life is my kids. I should just have links to my kid’s blogs and profiles and all would be well." Those words kept ringing in my head. As time went on I decided...that was ridiculous. My life is fabulous! This “post-child rearing” stage of my life is wonderful, liberating, full of adventure and creative. Hey, maybe someone out there just may find it interesting! If not, oh well, I’m having FUN!
