My sis in law pointed out that I needed to blog. I have been so overwhelmed with everything lately that I haven't wanted to make the time. But I was looking through all the cute pics of my sweet guy and thought I could at least write a quick recap of our lives the last few months and post some cute JT pics.

Troy - Hubs started a new job in January. It required him to take the financial licensing exams Series 7 & 63. So, work and study for those two exams was all he did from the time he started the job until April 8 when he passed them both! Two huge thumbs up! We're so proud of him!

Em - I tried my hand these last three months as a single, working mom. I had to keep the house running and baby cared for and try to keep things going at work. Somehow (with a lot of prayer and family support) we made it through and I even managed to lose 10 lbs of my baby weight and am feeling more like my old self everyday. During all this craziness - one of my buildings at work won the local competition for the building of the year award and I got a great employee review. JT is thriving and a great baby (I say this as he is screaming uncharacteristically in the other room because he will not go to sleep. I guess anyone can have an off-day!), and my marriage survived the stress. :-) On a serious note - I am so lucky to have such great guys in my life - a great husband & wonderful little baby. Even the dog is behaving well for me these days.

JT - 10 months old. It's amazing how much he has learned over the past three months. I'm working on choosing some pictures to post. He is really changing and growing up, his face is thinning out and he wants to be moving constantly and exploring the house. He doesn't really crawl yet - he gets up on his hands & knees and rocks, but he mostly just pulls himself around with his arms & toes. He still doesn't have any teeth, but I swear he is teething (drooling, fussy, runny nose) - we can see the teeth under his gums but they refuse to break through! He has an easy smile and beautiful blue eyes. People in stores always tell me what a cute kid I have - and I agree! I can't imagine my life without him. Being a mom is awesome!

Bathtime - a favorite in our house. JT loves to splash around in the water - he can soak the floor (and me) and he giggles while doing it and I laugh so hard I'm sure it encourages him to keep doing it.

2011 Projects

I can probably pull up last year's list of resolutions and copy them verbatim into this year's list. So, instead of doing the same thing year after year I thought this year I would call them **Projects** instead of resolutions. Much the same thing, I guess, but I feel better about structuring my goals this way.

2011 Projects:
Financial - Make a Budget (T starts his new job tomorrow, so we are in serious need of a budget - I need my fence & piano this year)
Career - Apply to do some adjunct teaching (I have been saying I will do this since 2007 when I finished grad school. And I am happy to say tonight that I have applied to two schools already and it's the 9th!)
Physical - Get Healthy a.k.a. Project lose the baby weight (I started on this one two weeks ago. I have been pretty strict with my diet and I have lost a whopping 3 lbs. Why do people keep telling me it's 90% diet? I think with my body type it's at least 50/50 diet/exercise. I will not be discouraged - I will keep going even if it takes me a year. And I will find more time to exercise going forward.)
Spiritual - Keep up with the lessons (I'm finding attending SS & RS difficult with the baby)

I can tell it's January because I am on fire with my goals, I mean Projects! I'll update again in a month and report on how my projects are going.

JT at 6 Months

I can't believe my little guy is 6 months old! We absolutely adore him and cannot imagine our lives without him.

He has such full checks that I hear comments now about how big he is (which is so funny because the first four months of his life everyone told me how small he was!), but his stats are right on track for his age:

Height: 26.5" (50th percentile)
Weight: 16.6 lbs (25th percentile)
Head: 17" (25th percentile)
