Recent Craftings

This is mainly for my sister who likes to see what I've been up to. The Halloween crafts I made with my sisters back in September. It doubled my number of Halloween decorations. (thanks for the wood Lisa!)
I came up with the leaf garland myself from things I saw online. It was really easy, just a little tedious to trace and cut out all those leaves, but I like how it looks. I don't have many decorations for fall so it adds some color to our house.

I have a couple Thanksgiving crafts in mind then Christmas! hooray!

Halloween!

These aren't the best pictures, the kids were so tired they wouldn't cooperate for the camera. But we had a nice, low key halloween. We went to my sister's house and walked around her neighborhood. But callie was super sensitive to all the scary masks and decorations, so we only lasted for maybe 15 houses. Tyson just hung out in the stroller, sucking on his binky. Callie was tinkerbell since we already had the dress and shoes (thanks grandmas!) so we just made a stop at the dollar store for some wings. Tyson was a monkey. I think the hat was my favorite part, it has a banana peel sticking out of the top. Callie still got TONS of candy, which we have been picking away at all week. Gotta love that she still shares her candy with me.

Brother and Sister

I realized I had so many cute pictures of the kids together I had to document this. They really do have fun together, and it is so fun to hear them laughing and giggling together. Some day I'm sure they'll hate each other, so here is proof of their love. :)

Tyson's birthday!

So Tyson's birthday was almost 2 months ago, but still wanted to share a couple cute pictures! He was completely spoiled by both sets of grandparents and we had a fun day! He loved his chocolate cake, despite what the first pictures shows. :) Once I broke the huge piece up into little pieces he went to town.

He's doing great. He finally started walking just a couple weeks ago and is already running. He has had to stay on formula till December because he is just too active and not keeping any weight on. But I think he is starting to get a little bit of a belly now. This has been a fun year learning how to balance two kids and their different personalities. But we love our Tyson, both on the good and bad days!

5k

Earlier this month I ran a 5k with 3 of my friends. We all totally rocked it. This was my first official 5k, and I was way excited. I went running a few times a week and it made me feel so good! I finished it in 29 minutes! Prior to this race my best time was 33, so I was pretty excited. Amazing what running a flat race can do for your time. (the course I would run while training had a decent hill that wore you out pretty good) Emily rocked it and got 2nd for the women. I got 7th overall I think... don't quote me on that. Either way, it was really fun and loved running it with my friends!
This pretty much shows our relationship. We keep each other sane everyday when we think we can't handle our kids anymore. :)

Callie

Here's my sweet girl! Recently I have been amazed and how much she has grown. She has gone back to being totally potty trained with occasional accidents, so I'm so grateful for that.
She is so sweet to Tyson. She loves to play with him, and is always excited when he wakes up from his nap.
She is beginning to draw really well. She can draw smiley faces, rainbows, and some of the letters. I didn't sign her up for preschool this year, so we will do some basics at home to get her ready for preschool next year. She is still just as bubbly as ever and makes me laugh!

Tyson 11 months!

Just a couple more weeks till my Tyson is 1 year old! Some things about him: his favorite places to play are the stairs and the toilet. He has discovered the toilet has water, and has thrown toys in it... once after callie used the toilet and didn't flush. Yes, that was gross, I got to get that out.
He finally has his first tooth. I think the second isn't far behind either. He has been pretty cranky lately...
He isn't walking just yet, but he is so close. He can stand up by himself without holding on to anything, and will just stand there for a little bit. We'll see if he beats his birthday.
He loves cars, balls, books, and playing with Callie. He is so content to sit and entertain himself which is so nice.

He also loves to play on Callie's bed and with daddy, enjoy the video!

What we do

Everyday this summer, we have pretty much done the same thing. Wake up, eat breakfast, watch a show, wait for it to be late enough that we can go play outside with our friends, come inside for lunch, naps/quiet time, play outside again, then come back for dinner, and maybe even back outside once more before bedtime.
Behind our apartment there is a swingset and a sandpit that keeps us occupied for hours, along with some fantastic friends that live in the buildings all around us.
I love having moments like this, the kids playing so nicely together...

Swimming!

We have a pool at our complex, that we finally are able to take advantage of because Callie has decided she loves the pool now. So last week we went for FHE so daddy could actually come too.

Cali!!

We went to the bay area this weekend for the Ellefsen family reunion. We celebrated my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. It was so fun to see cousins, and to enjoy California for a little bit. Friday we went to the beach, where it was FREEZING. Callie pretty much stayed wrapped in the blanket the whole time. Tyson enjoyed crawling in the sand.

Callie learned the beauty of licking the brownie batter... Needless to say she loved it.
If Tyson was ever a mini-Nick, he definitely is now that we cut his hair!

FIrst haircut

Here are the pictures! The before picture isn't the best but it does show what his hair was looking like on a regular basis. He had bedhead all day everyday! We couldn't control it! He was great during the actual haircut. He thought the clippers were funny when they were on him. :)
