Candle in the Wind

My sister, man and I went to one of these Candlelight concerts recently that have gotten popular all over the country. This one was a tribute to Fleetwood Mac.

It felt like being in a Bridgerton episode. The main difference being it was a very white older crowd.   No sign of Lady Danbury.  Shocked I tell ya. 

Right in between songs, someone in the small crowd crossed her legs, let one rip, and let out an audible gasp. Or is that gas? Both I suppose. 

If you have seen them advertised and are interested in seeing one,  treat yo' self.

The Business of Dying

 Yesterday I delivered the eulogy at my mother’s funeral service.  It was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my nearly 60 years of life.  Exactly one year ago to the day, we buried my father.  Neither died suddenly.  Each one took an extraordinary amount of caregiving and I’m relieved they no longer struggle with the difficulties of aging.  I need to write about what the last two years have been like so a few more posts to come.  Today, however, my heart aches.  Grief is a fuckin’ bitch even though my therapist tells me the tears are just my heart healing itself. 

Hug the people you love and tell them how important they are to you.  Spend time with them, it’s the most precious thing there is.

April Fool!

I was fooled briefly by my local grocery who is advertising this new product.  It really isn't so far-fetched that the people of southern Louisiana would consume such a thing.

Mother's Day Approaches
