Hello family! I have been remiss in my blogging duties. I am very very very sorry. Can you EVER forgive me?!

I mentioned the fireworks in the neighborhood last time. They have finally stopped. Thank heavens for that. I don't think Spooky or I could have taken much more. IF I ever get another dog, I'm getting him when he's a puppy and getting him rifle trained.

Samantha and I went on a road trip to the Teton Dam. It is amazing to me that that one day changed so much for so many people. Actually, one moment. Now I'm hearing rumors about wanting to build the thing again. Didn't they learn their lesson the first time?

How was everyone's fourth of July? I rode my bike over to my roommate's parents house to watch the parade. It was a glorious day. Not too hot with a nice cool breeze. I was standing out enjoying the sun and on three different occassions three different people (my roommate, her sister and her mom) pushed me into the shade. I smell a conspiracy....but I didn't get sunburned that day. After the parade was over I rode downtown to see a car show. Along the way, I got honked at twice by my roommates family (they look after and worry about me in case you couldn't tell). Idaho Falls has a little street fair type thing on fourth of July with booths, music and fair type food. I didn't stay very long since, as you all know, I MELT in the heat (by that time it was getting hot). I walked around the car show, visited one of my friends at her booth then rode home and took a nap in my air conditioned semi-dark room. Sounds lovely, doesn't it? It was...After I finally woke up, I went to a barbecue and watched the fireworks. They are quite beautiful here. Best in the region I'm told.

I had a completely random adventure last Tuesday night. One of my girlfriends called me up at 6PM and asked me what I was doing that night. I told her that I had no idea, nothing as far as I was aware. She asked if I wanted to go listen to a great band play (I always say yes to that)....in Island Park. An hour and a half away. On a week night when I have to work the next day. AND I hadn't even left work for that day yet. OH, and the band was going to start playing at 8PM. She sent me the email about the group so I could decide. It's this soul-blues-gospel group (think Aretha Franklin) that sounded really interesting. We never get this kind of music in Idaho Falls, let alone Island Park. Do you really have to think very hard about what my decision was going to be? Are you kidding me?! Of course I said YES. You only go around one time so take the moments of joy where you can get them. We got up to IP (short for Island Park for the slow among the group) about 9PM. A girl has to finish work, go home, get cleaned up, pick up the dog and get fuel you know. These things take time. Anyway, we got up there and I was immediately thrilled with the decision I had made. The band was amazing and I danced my fanny off. I met some great, fun people and danced until at least midnight. Thankfully the girlfriend I went with has some friends up there, so we were able to crash there that night because by then it was too late to drive back. As I like to say: and a good time was had by all. I almost always have fun when I go to IP. Usually I'm there to listen to a band so that must have something to do with it!

Then last night I went to my first Idaho Falls Chukars baseball game of the year. It's about time. I've been a complete slacker in that department this year. It was a beautiful evening (once again, I LOVE Idaho Falls in the summer) and our team ALMOST won. Maybe next time! Then out with the girls to find some live music. We found a fun great band that is easy to dance to, so once again I dance my fanny off (not as much as IP, I need a break you know!)

All right Family, here it is....

I love love love Burn Notice! It is one of my great joys in life to watch Sam Axe do his thing. Especially when Jeffrey Donovan says "I could kiss you Sam" and Sam says "Get in line". That guy cracks me up.

As some of you may know, I've been stage managing 'On Golden Pond'. The run finally finished last night. Everyone was very sad to see it end. Everyone, that is, except me...Is it bad that I wasn't? Not that I didn't enjoy the show or the cast of characters (emphasis on the word Characters!), but I'm ready to go play outside for a while. Did you know that there is actually a sun and it really does shine? I wasn't so sure there for a while. The next thing I'm going to do for ARTI is stage manage "Sealed for Freshness" this fall. I'm crazy, right? But I can't pass up the opportunity to be backstage at such a funny show. It's a play about a Tupperware Party in the late 60's gone horribly wrong. Definately MATURE audiences only (that means lots of cursing and inappropriate humor, just FYI). Just as an aside-did you know that people at ARTI think I'm bossy?! You all know the truth, right? If you'd just do what I tell you, I wouldn't have to be so bossy...

Spooky and I went for a walk today, but I was a mean mom. I wouldn't let him play in the mud puddles because he just got groomed. He's all clean and soft so no puddle jumping for him! Poor Spooky HATES this time of year. SOMEONE taught him to be afraid of loud, unexpected noises so the poor dear just hunkers down as close to me as possible whenever idiots are lighting fireworks after midnight. On a weekday. In the middle of town. Two weeks before AND after July 4. Not that I have a problem with it, no, not at all. I think it's GREAT to take in a big ol' whiff of nasty doggie breathe at 1AM when I've been asleep for hours and I have to be up in five hours... Love it. Bring it on!

Off to get a blizzard from DQ. I expect comments when I get back!
