Fiesta Numero Tres

Here is annual ginger house building.

The competition was intense.

Can't you see the concentration level in each family.

We are proud to say that there was no duck tape used in the Destination home this year.

Party Numero Dos

Last year we were bathrobe beauties this year.... How about 'bakin babes'!
And for the guys... Anyone up for a BBQ? Please note the little somethin' somethin' goin' on over on the left side. HHHMMM.
.
These were the hugs of he night.

Dad's kiss face was my personal favorite!

Poor Macus. He was up since the morning before from work. When you fall asleep in the middle of a party on the hard floor, you know it's got to be bad.

We can't forget the matching pajamas from Nan.

This is Isabel's real mom. Isabel looks far more like Kelsey than she does me.

Gabe won the most excitement when opening a gift. "It's a cutter! It's a cutter!" It was also a nice treat for Gabe because his most Idolized cousin Ethan gave it to him.

This is our sweet Gracie.

Let the Holiday Games Begin....

Well, the Holidays got started with a successful Thanksgiving hosted by yours truly. That's right, 25 people in our house and I think everyone liked it. I even cooked my first turkey which was excellent if I may say- Maple marinated. The best part however, was seeing Papa laugh. He was telling stories right and left and I think he sounded like himself for the first time in awhile. We love you Papa!!!

Next event- The annual Davis Christmas Party.

Everyone enjoyed their gifts from Grandma!

Marc kind of has a special touch with Lace.

Corbin was especially excited!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Many people complain about the snow. I infact love it. Time for skiing.....!!!

Does it get more adorable than this? After building their first snowman ever, Isabel had to come and warm by the fire for a bit.

Here are our munchkin snowplowers. If you ask them, they were the ones that shoveled the driveway.

Flordia Trip #3

Well, this was the last trip for me to take while Isabel was still a lap child. Although, after this trip, I will gladly get her a seat next time! My sky miles are dwindling (I started out with 150,000) but I believe I've played my cards right and have left just enough for Isabel and Me to make one more trip to see our dear friends the Whitings! Our 3rd was fun and we will look forward to trip number 4 in a year or two. Unfortunately, not a lot of pictures this time. With Christmas and all, we kind of layed low on the activites, but it was just what we needed. It took the entire time to catch up and that's even with us talking on the phone every week! You just can't say as much into that metal device as you can in person. We still managed to do our usual shopping and I think Ella and Isabel would be best friends if we had left 2 days earlier. (I think Isabel had overstayed her welcome with all of Ella's toys). I feel relaxed and rejuvinated so a big thanks to you Rebecca. Also, a big thanks to Debbie and Bruce for meeting us for lunch. It was so much fun to catch up. We really enjoyed it and Ella and Isabel loved the time spent filling Bruce's hands with rocks.

Lunch at the Olive Garden

Our bike ride & our cute hostess! (Model couple don't you think?)

Midnight Madness

This home ownership thing is becoming quite commical. There we were enjoying our nice Sunday dinner of cold cereal when we recieved a disturbing knock at the door. The news- our drive way seems to be spouting water. Sure enough, between two of our cement slabs, a beautiful fountain of water that was quickly flooding our street. Within the next couple of hours we managed to shut off the water to everyone on our street while providing them with delightful ground shaking sounds of a back hoe pounding into our cement. The crew was nice enough to work on it throughout the night and had our water back on by morning. Now we 'get' to lay new cement. $$$$ As a side note, most of our driveway is old and cracked and needs to be replaced. We do have a strip of our driveway that is nice and new. Bet you can't guess which part of the driveway was torn up!

Dearest Isabel

My Dear Isabel. You certainly are a child of God. A blessing from above! If the name had not been taken, you would have been named Grace because when you were born you were dad and I's saving Grace in so many ways. Your dad and I hold your birth dear to our hearts for reasons that only the two of us will ever know about. But my sweet beautiful daughter, know that you are one of the greatest things in our lives. I will probably repeat this story each year on your birthday, but I will never get sick of it. I had the greatest time carrying you. I have never felt so good in my life. I don't know if this will be the case with all my pregnancies but I felt so beautiful. The doctors decided to induce me at 39 weeks because you decided to stop growing and I had actually lost a pound. Just as the pregancy was easy, so was your delivery. You came out wide-eyed and weighing a whopping 5.7 pounds. All the nurses told me you would be very sleepy and a poor eater. Boy did you prove them wrong. You stayed awake for 8 hours after you were born and ate like a champion. Things have not changed. You continue to hate sleep. You don't want to miss a thing. You love food and have so far been blessed with the metabolism to down large quantities of it and still maintain your little figure! You continue to be the highlight of our lives. While I want to strangle you sometimes because of your extreme independance and stubborness, you are perfect to me in every way. You have been blessed and cursed with my personality. While I worry about you, your father finds much joy in it. I think you will always get to him because of it. When we were waiting your arrival, your dad would constantly say how he wanted you to be just like me. Well, with the exception of our looks, we are definitely two peas in a pod. Your father is not a very emotional person except when it come to us. I believe it was he that cried when we left you for the first time, not me.

Isabel, you are so vibrant. I love the way you light up our home. Your little face is so full of expression. Your dad and I are constantly laughing over the faces you pull. You are so smart. You constantly amaze us. You have known your ABC's and many other songs since you were 18 months old. You really think for yourself. I feel like I can hold real conversations with you. I love how determined you are. If used right, it will take you far in life. I love that you like being a girl and all the 'girly' things, but that you aren't afraid to follow dad around and do all the 'guy' stuff. I hope you know how much dad and I love you. Although I am saddened that one more year is gone, I'm excited to see what you have to bring to this world as a 2 year old! Happy Birthday beautiful!

Birthday Fun.....

Tinker Bell is her all time favorite character. She has a tinker bell blanket, a tinker bell cup, tinker bell socks, and tinker bell pajamas. Needless to say, she had a very tinker bell birthday. She loved it!

Can we say trouble? Actually, trouble and spoiled. She's got the whole house wife thing down- apron on, jewelry on, cooking and talking on the cell phone. That's my girl!

Blackout

Utah VS TCU- it rocked.
We looked like bank robbers but we were cute bank robbers!

Just a matter of time

Statistically, I knew that this would eventually happen. I actually thought it would be sooner. This proves that I am right in standing in the way of my husband owning a bike that can go over 50 mph. The worst part of the accident can't actually be seen. He messed up his shoulder. I'm guessing he's going to need rotator cuff surgery within the next 5 years. These pictures are of his thigh and knee. Let this be a lesson to my darling husband- accidents do happen! I'm just glad he's okay.

AARRRGH!! Beware of the Blackburn Pirates!

Thank you to all who have posted your cute Halloween Photos. They are my favorite. I don't know why kids are so cute dressed up, but I can't get enough of them. You all had darling costumes and I very much enjoyed seeing all the adorable kids! I too wanted to post some pictures of my babes so here they are. Enjoy.

A special thanks to our pimp daddy work out guru and his hot wife! We love you guys!

Fire in the Hole!

We've been trying to take advantage of the warm weather and get our yard put together. This has included several days of digging, pulling and burning! We are exhausted and not even close to being done but at least we are teaching our kids the value of work, right! They have joined us with their own shovels and rakes and have spent just about the same amount of time outside as we have. Grant it, they spend much more time running around the sand pit than anything else but don't they look cute? Gabe taught Isabel how to walk on the logs and boy does she think she is big now. I don't know why but when brothers and sisters hold hands, it is the cutest thing ever.
