It's alive!!!!

Hey all,
I know it's been eons since my last post, so I'll do a quick update on my life...

In May of 2011, I graduated from university. Yayyyyy.

After another summer working in the computer labs, TB  (The Boy) and I got hitched.

We're pretty awesome.

And now, I'm planning our honeymoon (yeah, it's planned for November) to Germany. Yayyyy

I want to get back into blogging, so maybe I'll make it a weekly goal to do so. :)

Momentum!

Last night The Boy and I hung out with my brother after one of my cancer check ups (as far as I know, I'm still good! :)  )

We had so much fun climbing with my brother. He is so much fun to hang out with, and I love that every time I happen to be in his neck of the woods that he makes time to go to lunch, or go climbing with us. What a good big brother! :)

Lunar Eclipse

I just wanted to share a great pic that I found of the lunar eclipse over the winter solstice.
I found it on a blog that I love reading called Pacing The Panic Room.

I love reading Pacing The Panic Room, because the guy who writes it is an amazing photographer, who is basically documenting his life and career. I started reading while his wife was pregnant, and he did a weekly maternity shot that was then shared on his blog. I loved seeing her belly expand, and the creativity that went into each shot. Good news everyone!

My semester ended well *HAPPY*DANCE*. The Boy will attest to me having been around, but not really "there." I spent most of the semester letting course material roll around in my head... trying to fit all the puzzle pieces together. Kinesiology was the hardest, as over the course of the semester we memorized all the muscles (and what action they produced, where they inserted and originated) and then we had to put it all together to analyze movements. It was hard-core, and I was so excited that I got a 93% on that final!!!

Oh, and please don't thing I'm bragging, or being an asshole. I'm just so excited, because the course-load seemed impossible!

And we're leaving early Friday morning to the Land O' Loved Ones* for Christmas. I can't wait to get there!!!

*Land O' Loved Ones - We are visiting The Boys family for the holidays, and I am so freaking EXCITED!!!! I love his family to death, and always eagerly await Christmas, because we get to spend time with them. I'm ready for a week filled with food, Hand and Foot, and Cribbage :) :) :)

This is what happens when I can't focus

So.... I'm trying as hard as possible to study for my Kinesiology final, and all the words are rolling around in my brain trying to drive me insane as quickly as possible, so to drive some words out of my brain, I will post them here (after finishing this, not nearly as many words came out as I expected. I guess I'll just have to go hide out in a deep quiet corner of the library (HA! If there is such a thing during finals week) and get them all straightened out instead of having them come out here)

Oh, and a pretty picture, because it is sparkly!

So,The Boy and I discussed getting a Christmas tree. Well... the laziness* won and we only decorated our windows, and duct taped our Christmas lights to our mantle in the shape of a tree. The only reason I managed to decorate the windows is because the new neighbors across the street went balls-out on decorating their house and I felt guilted** into decorating...

Sadly, the duct tape tree didn't last long. Only about an hour. Now it is a lovely clump of lights piled on top of our TV fireplace. Meh, at least the stockings are still hanging.  :)   (BTW, we were playing video games when the first clump fell and it scared the crap out of me! After the first few 'branches' fell, it turned into, "Oh, there goes more... and more...," and "...and more, ok, well, whatever...")

Oh, and some fabulous news.... I got an A- in my Biomechanics "Vectors From Hell" class.  I'm so happy!

Hellloooooooo!!

Hey Everyone,
the semester is about over - 2 more finals to go and then sweet sweet FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDOOOOOMMMMM!!!! Well, until January 10th. Hahahhaaha-

This semester has been busy with Biomechanics, Evaluation in Physical Education, Kinesiolgy and medical terminology.

Totally understandable why it's been so quiet around here, right?

But the best part of that is... Spring 2011 semester will be the last semester of my undergrad! YAYYYYY!!!! I'm so so so excited :)

My bestie, my brother and I will be gradumacating together! It'll be a relief all the way around.

Oh, and I mentioned a few posts ago that I've been selling  my stuff in a local bead shop. That's been kinda.... cool to have my stuff in there, but it's not that busy of a shop, so things haven't been as magical as I've wanted. The boss has been really cool about making really neat cabs out of beautiful stone, and I've been wrapping them and we've come up with some really neat stuff.

I've also been making a lot of custom jewelry for friends, which has been awesome. Here are a couple of necklaces to show what I've been up to

Green aventurine wrapped in .925 silver, with green aventurine and black obsidian beads.

 This one is 8mm black obsidian wrapped in a strand of silver seed beads, with a strand of 6mm snowflake obsidian, and then a strand of 4mm black obsidian. Custom order for a friend.

This is black obsidian (8 and 4 mm) with a strand of silver seed beads, and then a blackstone and .925 sterling silver tree of life pendant.Also a custom order for a friend.

So, basically, some really cool stuff!!

Well, this is enough for now, I really should be studying for my Kinesiology final...  :)

Just trying something out.....

Meet Bob!

A lot of you long term readers know that I have a long-standing love/hate relationship with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. To work in a specific computer lab on campus, we have to be familiar with both, and have occasional trainings on them. This is what our Photoshop training was supposed to turn out like:

 The tutorial was supposed to be for beginners, and we were supposed to create this from scratch. Well, needless to say, it was much harder than a beginner project, and I ended up frustrated part way through. Our manager gave us permission to only create the head, and this is what I came up with:

I was pretty frustrated, so I changed his hair color (and he does have ears, they're just hiding behind his hair)
and didn't do much else than give him a shirt and shorts. And the name Bob. Hehehe

Season Passes!!

I almost forgot. One of my favorite times of year is coming up. The snowboarding season!!! The Boy and I bought our season passes on Thursday. We'll be hitting the slopes as often as possible, and I am stoked! YAY!

Been busy!

I got a second job working in a local gem and bead store. I absolutely LOVE it. :) And I get to look at all sorts of pretty beads and stones all day. It's wonderful!!
(I have so much stuff that I want to make, it's kind of dangerous!)
