Where do you want to go on your next vacation? Legoland - we are going there on our next vacation!

What is your favorite part of fall? soccer season!

Soccer and Kindergarten by Logan

 I like soccer because it gets new stuff in me like better drop kicks. I had my first soccer game on Friday and I scored a point!  I like swinging. 

I am kindergarten now. We have been doing colors week at school. Friday was rainbow day. My favorite part about kindergarten is I like going to library, PE, and playing soccer at recess. My teacher's name is Ms. Chaney. When we get to the top of our jar we get play time. Kindergarten is a really good school! 

I like to eat hotdogs. My nickname is PiggyMan 64. (side not from Ethan and mom - that is not his nickname - no one has ever called him that. lol.)

My First Soccer Games by Ethan

 Yesterday I had my first 2 soccer games of the season. It was fun. We played 2 games in a row. I was really tired at the end. We won both games. Three of my friends are on my team - Joaquin, Miguel, and Lincoln. I played one of my best friends Alex in the 2nd game. In the first game we won 5-0. Also, in the first game I brought the snacks. In the 2nd game we won 5-2. 

Also, I like on soccer how you have teammates to pass the ball to and to trust you, but in baseball you don't really have anyone to pass to. Also, you have to run a lot. In my 2nd game I was in for the entire game. It was really hard and tiring. In the first game I was in for most of the game. 

Mason's Cross Country by Mason

 This year I decided to be on the cross country team. It's been some of the funnest stuff I've ever done. It's definitely my favorite sport. I really like running and I just find joy in it. A lot of my friends are on the cross country team, which is fun. For each race I run a 3K, which is 1.87 miles. 

Here are my times from all my meets:

First timed run at practice: 17:34

First meet at Legacy Park: 18:20

2nd meet at Kuna Park: 16:51

3rd meet at Vallivue Middle School: 16:00

My goal is to get 15:50 at the next meet on Tuesday.

Ethan's Play - King Arthur's Quest

 Last week Ethan got to participate in a play. There was a traveling theater company that came here to run it. On Monday kids K-12 could go to the high school for a group audition. Everyone who showed up got a part in the play. Then they practiced Tues-Friday and did 2 performances on Saturday. It was so well done and so fun to see Ethan perform. The play was King Arthur's Quest. Ethan was "mini Talesein". Him and the other 3 "mini's" he was with sang 4 different songs together and Ethan was turned into a frog and a duck. He helped a sad giant and brought him a blanket and helped a dragon feel better. He also did some dancing with a dragon and that was the highlight for everyone.  Ethan was a great dancer and really made it funny! Logan was cracking up during a lot of it and loved it and wanted to see it again. We are so proud of Ethan. He would love to do another play sometime! 

Ethan says - I had a really fun time and I Liked when I got to go - "la la la la la" every time Merlin said he would turn me into something. 

Ethan's Baptism

 Ethan was baptized on Saturday, April 8th. We are so proud of him and his decision to follow our Savior Jesus Christ! He was really excited to be baptized. Grammie said the opening prayer. We sang I like to Look for Rainbows. Grandpa Buckner and Dillon helped with the music. Grandpa Buckner gave a great talk on baptism. Chad baptized Ethan and Mason and Grandpa Dennis were the witnesses. While Ethan was getting dressed everyone wrote him a note to congratulate him - we are going to put those in his journal. Brian and Brandt's families also joined in on zoom. Then Cara gave a great talk on the Holy Ghost and all the gifts/blessings that come from having it as our constant companion. Chad confirmed Ethan. Then Dillon gave the closing prayer. It was a beautiful baptism. Everything went really well and smoothly. After the doors to the font were closed Chad let Ethan swim in the font for a minute. He received a quad with his name on it from Grandma and Grandpa Buckner, a journal and scripture case from mom and dad, stuffed animals and gummy bears from grammie and Grandpa dennis and a paper about the 3 "bears" of baptism - you promise to bear your testimony, bear others burdens, and bear Christ's name. He also got a candy poster letter from Mom and Dad. We started this as a tradition when Mason was baptized and Ethan has been looking forward to that for years. :) 

After Ethan was baptized he said it was the best day of his life and he felt very good. 

Ethan's Field Trip to Mountain Home Air Force Base

 On Friday I got to go with Ethan on his school field trip to the Mountain Home Air Force Base. It was really fun! We started the day seeing 3 different dogs who were trained to find drugs and bombs and to attack bad guys. They showed us some demos of how the dog would attack.  Then we went to the fire station. The kids toured the inside (the kids loved the theater room with recliners), got to climb on the fire trucks, pretend to use a fire extinguisher to put out a fire, see 2 fireman race to get their gear on, and get pics with Sparky the fire dog. I think the highlight for everyone was that they got Sparky's autograph on their Sparky coloring book. Next, we went to see the robots and other weapons and artillery.  The kids loved the robot taking them on a wagon ride. They also got to drive one of the smaller robots. After that we had lunch at the park and then visited the tanks and then the areas that had fighter jets and training equipment for fighter pilots.
