Mia is growing up and getting an even bigger vocabulary! LOL She surprise us completely when she belted out the aggagate (aggravate) statement...then gave him the Eebil Eye. :)

Sick Little Girl

Poor little Mia has been sick for a couple days. We were at the park on Sunday and although she seemed to feel okay, she had a nagging little cough. Sunday night and Monday night she didn't sleep well and kept mommy from getting a good night's sleep. Mommy took her to the hospital in Springerville on Tuesday (10/5). The doctor there said she had ear wax build-up and flushed her ears then sent her home with antibiotics.

Things worsened after that. Mia started vomiting after getting the antibiotics and seemed to get worse by the hour. Grandma & Grandpa took her to the doctor on Wednesday, at the clinic next to Dr. Paxman's because he was out of the office. They diagnosed pneumonia and gave her a prescription for a different antibiotic. They gave her shots at the clinic to get the antibiotic treatment started. After waiting for the prescription to be filled, we headed back to St. Johns.

Shortly after arriving back to town, Mia was even more sick and throwing up again. The doctor at the clininc wanted her taken to the Emergency Room. So, off went mommy and grandma to take her back to the hospital. She looks so sad, so tired. :(

Mia did a good job posing and holding her breath for chest x-rays. She held her breath like when she goes through the tunnel on the way to the valley. The tech was impressed.  :)

She tried being brave but that didn't work well. Mia had to be secured for getting a blood draw and setting up the IV. She was wrapped snuggly in a sheet then held down. :(

She was so upset.

Mommy let Mia hold her money to give her something else to focus on. It worked, somewhat.

Mia was admitted to the hospital - she looked so tiny in that big bed.

This pillowcase was given to Mia. It has cheerful messages painted onto it and surprise, it is from Salem Ward YW!

As Mia started feeling better, she was able to have visitors...like this therapy dog who stopped by to say hi. Mia missed all the doggies so she was real happy to see this one! She even got out of bed for a picture. :)

In the end, they determined Mia did have pneumonia (ER had originally said no) and the aggressive antibiotic treatment (shots at clinic) had stopped it from worsening although she ended up being severely dehydrated in the process. After an initial bout of vomitting Thurday morning she began making improvement in the afternoon. She was realeased from the hospital about 7pm that evening.

I am so glad you are feeling better, Mia. Grandma loves you! ♥

Pictures in the Park

Mia wanted me to take a picture of her belly button. I've no idea why. We didn't take pictures of other body parts. Just this one of her belly button.

She danced and played, too.

And, we played together.

And, Mia got hold of the camera. :)

Trial Run

I went over to pick up Mia and she was all ready for her first day of pre-school...and she was excited, too!

She had her new backpack all ready to go.

And she used it for a bit of shade while she waited on Grandma to actually head out. :)

Then, we drove over to her pre-school, climbed out of the truck and rang the bell. Mia was a bit apprehensive but Grandma said she would go in with her.

Ack!~ Are you serious? Off by a week? She starts on the 7th!

Oh well. The visit wasn't a total bust. Mia was able to go in and see Ms. Greer's surprise.

Nine, count them nine new brown Labrador puppies!

They were brand new, too! Their little eyes aren't even open yet. Mia got to hold one of the puppies, this pic is Sis. Greer holding the pup. Mia knew exactly how to hold her hands for holding the little one and Sis. Greer was impressed she was so gentle with the puppy.

The day wasn't a total loss. Mia had a chance to hang out with Curious George when we came back to the house. :)

A Ghost Made A Mess

"Uh, huh. A ghost did it."

Did the ghost put some of those chocolate dots in your mouth, too?

"Uh, huh."

Where did the ghost get the chocolate dots from?

"In your fridge. There's the bag."

Princess Polly

Mia and I picked up this book about a week ago. I have read it to her, and to her and TJei together, maybe 8 times already. This morning they got Grandpa to read it to them. And they made sure he knew how to check under the mattress each time he turned the page. :)
