Peach Picking (June 26, 2010)

As a family, we went to pick peaches together one Saturday morning. It was extremely hot (and I stayed in the shade most of the time), but we were able to get some really great peaches at a great price! When we got home, Katherine helped her daddy make some homemade peach ice cream - delicious.

Trip to Naples, FL (June 15-20, 2010)

Brandon had a conference in Naples, FL and we were thankfully able to go with him! Katherine did great on the long car ride and really enjoyed her first trip to the beach. She didn't so much like getting sand on her hands, so she preferred sitting close enough to the ocean to wash off the sand whenever she pleased.

Katherine also really enjoyed riding the tram from the hotel to the beach:And she LOVED the pool at our hotel, especially the really fast slide (my apologies for the video being sideways):

Pool Opening (May 22-31, 2010)

Brandon and Katherine couldn't wait to get in the pool this summer! Ours opened up on May 22nd, and even though it was a little cold, they got in anyway. Katherine got good at jumping off the side of the pool (and even off of the diving board with mommy and daddy's help), and she learned how to blow bubbles in the water and kick. We went to Augusta, GA for Memorial Day weekend to visit the Vanderburgs in their new house, and Katherine and Carli were able to go swimming together.

Katherine's Baby Dedication (May 15, 2010)

Katherine had her baby dedication at our church on May 15th, and Brandon and I were thankful that we had both family (my mom, Lindsay, Chris & Carli) and friends (Susan and Julie Brack, Barb Elliott, and Sandi Glidewell) there to celebrate and pray for Katherine with us. Unfortunately, I barely got any pictures - so sad.

This one is of the cousins feeding the ducks together at the pond near our house on the same weekend as the baby dedication.

Carli's Second Birthday Party (May 8, 2010)

We drove to Fort Bragg, NC for Carli's second birthday party in May. Katherine loved seeing her cousin, and we all had a lot of fun together!

18 Months Old

Katherine is already 18 months old - I can't believe it! We went in for her 18-month well-baby visit today, and she looked great. Here are the stats for those who are interested:
Height: 33 inches (86%)
Weight: 24 pounds (47%)
Head Circumference: 19 inches (91%)

It's a Girl!

I am at 19 weeks now in my pregnancy, and this past week we went in for the important ultrasound - the one where they check to make sure the spine and all of the organs look okay. It was great to have Brandon and Katherine come with me, and we were so thankful to discover that the baby looks completely healthy thus far. We also discovered that we will be having another little girl! We are grateful that Katherine will have a little sister so close to her in age and hope that they will grow up to be the best of friends, as I am with both of my sisters (of course it was not always that way, but now our bond is something to be cherished). Brandon makes such a good "girl dad," and I know he will be as great with the second one as he is with Katherine! I can't believe I am almost halfway through the pregnancy. There is a lot to do before baby #2 arrives (name to be kept a secret until the birth - but we haven't chosen one yet anyway). We plan on moving Katherine to her "big girl room" with a "big girl bed" sometime this summer, but we need to get it ready and decorated first. We also plan to potty train Katherine this summer and are hoping she will be ready - I guess we will just have to wait and see how that goes. Above all, we are thankful for God's many blessings and for our growing family!
