Hip Hop Hooray! It's Austin's Birthday!

 This year for Austin's birthday we rented the play space at a local church and went with an Easter theme since he turned 2 on Good Friday! The kids and parents seemed to have a blast so all in all I would say it was a success here are some pictures from the day.

Sesame Street Live

What a fun night! So glad that we took Austin to see Sesame Street Live and of course the night wouldn't be complete without his best friend Tatum. They loved it and were absolutely mesmorized by the life size characters singing and dancing on stage. They stood most of the show completely glued.

Austins Birthday was Good Friday so we celebrated with two egg hunts and a trip to Carlsbad. Also, it was Matthew and Mackenzie's spring break so they got to hangg out too.

I two! That is what Austin would say and at two he is amazing us more and more each day. I tell everyone how in the first year of his life he grew so much physically. He went from having to be held to walking on his own but this year it is what he has learned mentally that blows me away. I mean he can tell you how old he is or that his name is Austin. As he turns two he can speak in short sentences telling you what he wants, asking questions, talking to his friends, singing complete songs includidng the ABC's, Twinkle, Twinkle, Jesus Loves Me, Happy Birthday, the Bumble Bee song and many others. He has also learned to count to 10 (most of the time), learned probably 10 letters, his favorite is 'O', spells his name out loud altough sometimes he gets to 'i' and instead of saying 'n' finishes the alphabet, and knows all of his colors although sometimes he gets red wrong which baffles me because it is the color of his favorite toy: Lightening McQueen. Austin has loved cars for awhile now but sometime since Christmas you might say that he has become obsessed with the characters from Cars the movie. McQueen and Mater are his favorite but Francisco holds a close third. He can't hardly go anywhere without them. His other favorite things to play if he is not playing cars or trains include puzzles which he can do a 12 piece all by himself and on his first birthday he couldn't do a three peg piece puzzle, horses, ball, and loves his slide from Christmas. His favorite books include I've Got a Job to Do, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Counting Colors, Mother Goose, and Farm Animals. His favorite foods include a PBJ, Mac N Cheese, pasta, corn dogs, turkey, green beans, oatmeal, cheese and most fruits. God has given us a gift everyday the past two years and we are so excited to continue on this journey of loving him. What a bleesing you have been Austin!

Sea World

 For Spring Break we took Austin to Sea World.

We had a great time and got to see friends from Dallas the Hasslers. Austin talked about feeding the dolphins fish and watching Shamu splash with his tail for the next few weeks.

We got to feed and pet the dolphins. This was my favorite part but I am not sure Austin knew what to think. We also feed sea lions.

I was a little sad for Austin to have his first haircut but the mullet growing in the back had to go. So CC got out the scissors and gave Austin his first trim.
