Happy Birthday!

Snaggle Tooth Cam

Background Info: I have a tendency to pass out or almost pass out when it comes to medical things or things that involve the body. I passed out when I was a little girl while my tooth was being pulled. I almost passed out when Cole pulled Camden's first tooth. I had to do the "sit in the floor put your head between your legs move." Let's just say it was real funny to everyone else! Camden pulled her second tooth in the car while I was driving. I had to remain calm and not look so I didn't pass out. 
Now that you know my background with teeth and passing out . . . ..

Camden discovered that her front tooth was REALLY loose on a Monday night.  Great for her but bad for me since Daddy was out of town for a week. She stood in the bathroom forever trying to pull that tooth. I tried to record her pulling her own tooth but after several failed attempts I gave up. She was so desperate she even let her little sister try to pull her tooth. It was HILARIOUS!!! At one point, Carsyn looked at me and said "I cant do it. It's stuck in there!" I laughed so hard watching the two of them try to pull that tooth out that I was crying before it was all over with. Needless to say the tooth hung in there for another eleven days. She even let her Sunday school teacher, Mrs. Tammy who works for a dentist, try to pull the tooth out.  It was so nasty watching her play with that tooth. Finally, the tooth decided it was time. She went into the bathroom and I think it pretty much fell out. She was soooo excited and so stinkin' cute I must add. She held the tooth forever and wouldn't put it in a bag for the tooth fairy. Instead, she wrote the tooth fairy a note that said "I Love You." She left her a cupcake and a cheese stick. She was so excited when she woke up and found a cute tooth fairy envelope with a sweet letter inside. She was even more excited that the tooth fairy left Carsyn a note for being so brave and helping her sister try to pull out her tooth. They can't wait to spend their glitter dusted dollar bill and their two quarters.

The LAKE

I'm going to be straight forward about this . . . .  I prefer the beach any day over the lake. I am a family girl and it almost killed me to live away from my family for four years while I was in Tuscaloosa and I knew I never wanted to live "away" once I returned home.  Now that I have gotten older, I have decided that I could live at the beach and be OK with it. I am blessed to have married a man that had a smart mama and purchased a place many years ago at the beach that we are now able to enjoy. With that being said, she also has a place at the lake that I "try" to enjoy. As a child, I grew up on the river. Our weekends included packing up and spending all day on the river skiing, jet skiing, knee boarding, grilling, etc. I even drove the boat pulling my brothers knee boarding.  Looking back, MY MOMMA WAS CRAZY!!!!  I cannot believe she let us play in that river.  I often ask her about it and she just laughs. I guess she doesn't know why either.
Back to the lake part. . . the girls and I decided to pack up and travel to the lake to visit everyone. Cole had to work so it was just the three of us. Once we got there, the girls were so excited to see Olivia, Jackson, and Chase.  We headed out on the boat to let the kids ride the tube. After a couple of spins on the lake, the boat QUIT! Did I mentioned it was 1,000 degrees that day with no clouds so the whole boat not working was not good. Kids were whining because they didn't get a turn, I was whining because it was HOT and I didn't want to get in the water, and my girls were whining because they didn't want their feet to touch the bottom of the lake.  I was a HOT MESS!!!! The night ended a lot better than the day. We took the kids back and fed them and they got to play games and go riding on the golf cart. They girls were also super excited that cousin Olivia got to come home with them and spend the night. In the end, my love for the lake is still neutral but I did enjoy visiting with family and letting the kids play.

Fun, Food, Family & the Fourth

The 4th of July has become a holiday with a lot of meaning for our family. We started celebrating this holiday as a family about 7 years ago when my Uncle Steve was being deployed. We have continued the tradition with our family and the adults look forward to it as much as the children do. This year was a little extra special because my Great Granny Collins was able to attend. She is 96 years old and truly a blessing to have in our family. Who wouldn't enjoy a day filled with fun, food and family?

So HAPPY to live in the land of the FREE and the home of the BRAVE.

LIKE TOTALLY!!!!

We have a SIX year old!!!!!
It's obvious we are not getting any younger and neither is she. It is so hard to believe that six years ago this little girl would change our lives forever.  Camden was born 13 days earlier than we expected and I am sure that has something to do with her lack of patience!!!!! She has been going strong every since. She is such a sweet and loving, laid back little girl but she is also stubborn as a bull when it comes to certain things. We love her more than she will ever know and we are so thankful that GOD allowes us to be her parents.

Spring is Here!

 Carsyn got a little gardening set for her birthday and could not wait to plant some flowers.

Being the gardener that I am (NOT) I advised them to wait for their Grammy to help them.

 With a little bit of assistance, the girls were ready to plant their seeds.

 

After they sprinkled the seeds in the soil, they had to cover them up and water them so they would grow.

 

Now all we need is a little patience!!!! Hopefully we will see some little sprouts soon.
