Just another Cute Line...

We have been teaching Ashlynne different Bible stories- the birth of Jesus, David and Goliath, Jesus healing the sick woman, etc... She asked if she could watch the movie of "David and Garlic"!! Dustin and I laughed for a very long time over that one!
She has picked up the story of Jesus birth very well. She loves to reinact it with her Fisher Price nativity scene. It goes something like this. (This is the SHORT version!) She walks the angel over to Mary and says " you're going to have a very special baby"! in her narrative tone! It's adorable. She then takes the angels over to the shepherds and shakes her head side to side and moves the angel and sings "Glooooooooooooooria"! Then, the shepherds go to the "Sable" and tell baby Jesus how cute He is... It is absolutely precious. Try to keep a straight face while you watch it. It's NOT easy!!

Tanksgiving

We spent "Tanksgiving" at my parents house. Dustin thought he was in Heaven- Mom had made his favorite crescent rolls, and he kept to tradition and ate his share and mine too! It snowed while we were there and Ashlynne got to see it. We drove up to Escudilla and Ashlynne had her first taste of snow- that she can remember, and didn't like it. Such a city girl!!

Kyle spent most of his weekend snapping shots of my favorite of his picture subjects!! Here are a few for starters...Kyle always gets the best shots!







Dustin always brings home ear plugs from work-Ashlynne copies Dustin in everything. Monkey see, Monkey do!! Just kidding, babe! And, NO, he doesn't bring them home 'cause of me... just forgets to take them out of his pockets- I know, my father in law doesn't believe that, do you Dave? Is that why you bring yours home, too?! How come it's only when I'm going to be there??? :)

Ashlynne at 5 AM

Ashlynne woke up early this morning. I went to see why, and turns out she couldn't find her covers. I covered her up and "sunggled" her for a while, and then said "ok. It's time for mommy to go back to her own bed. I love you." She said " Can I go, too?" I told her no, and that she had to stay in her own special bed. I said " I love being your mommy!" She said " me too!" I asked her what, and she said "I love being your Ashwinn!" I melted instantly. I felt that I had been paid the biggest compliment ever, and I couldn't quit smiling. However, I got all teary eyed that my sweet little baby can comprehend what I meant by loving to be her mommy- and does indeed love being my baby, too. Such a bittersweet moment. I couldn't leave her~I picked her up and she got the rare privilege of sleeping in our bed. Daddy was just leaving for work, so she sunggled daddy for a minute, and kindly informed him that there were no treats in his work shirt pocket! (he normally brings treats home in his pocket every day just for his munchkin!) That's Ashlynne! Always aware of EVERYTHING at all hours. She was being so cute that Dustin did not want to go to work.

She loves to get her pictures taken. However, we waited for an hour, and when we finally got in it was hot, and after an outfit change, late for lunchtime and nap-time etc, she was doing really good.

Actually, believe it or not, she wasn't mad, but it looks like it. That's the meanest I've ever seen her look. She was only saying cheese. It is so cute! Not one we'll put in our Christmas cards, but stuff like this is what memories are made of!

BBQ Face

I don't like letting her feed herself messy foods... Much to Gwomma's dismay. I don't have time to clean up millions of messes. So, she gets to practice on 'clean foods'.- or at Gwomma's. I decided to outside my comfort zone and let her feed herself her own bbq wing. It was her very first time to eat a wing all by herself. I snapped pictures to prove that I do let her get messy! Well, I did once anyway.

It doesn't rain very often, so when it does, we LOVE to play in it! This is Ashlynne's excited face! She squeals and clenches her fists... So adorable!

More Reminiscing

Goofy Girl!

I actually forgot about these. This was her first night in her big girl bed. It was four months before she turned two. We had made a big deal about how exciting it was going to be, and how cool she was. She was so excited. She walked right over and climbed in and said "it's my big girl bed, guys!" We did our normal bedtime routine, and she laid down, and went right to sleep. She didn't even try to get up. That came a couple weeks later!

THIS is what I woke up to the next morning. I opened the door, and ran for the camera. I didn't touch the "scene"! This was all her, including the hat!

Haha! She had peed so much that her diaper was too full... It overflowed to her bed, and then Our little princess moved over in her sleep! That's my girl! She actually is a clean freak. If she knew this happened, she would have weeped and wailed until we fixed it! Won't she love this when she's older?!

She loves mirrors. With every bow and every outfit, she checks out front and back and says " Do I look cute?" She has no idea!!

Ashlynne's Dance Class

We signed Ashlynne up for Tap, Dance, and more Tumbling. This was my big girl walking out the door carrying her own dance bag. I never thought this day would come. Everyone elses kids grow up, but surely not ours! She turned around after she got out the door, and said "Come on mommy! We have to go to dance class!"

Walking With the Dinosaurs

We went to the Walking With the Dinosaurs show. There were about fifteen different life size dinosaurs. Each one looked so realistic- their eyes blinked, their heads moved up and down, their mouths opened, they made dinosaur noises... It was absolutely amazing. Ashlynne has been crazy about dinosaurs ever since.

The coolest opening scene ever...

Da Mommy dinosaur and da baby dinosaur! The mommy one saved da baby one- white dis! (like this!) Ashlynne reinacts this almost every day. Oh, and the part where the dinosaur pooped! She watched it pooped and Ashlynne announced VERY loudly, "dat dinosaur pooped! It was a Big o poop! Did you see it Daddy?! It was HUGE! The man kicked it, white dis!"

These dinosaurs were about forty feet tall. They were incredible!

Colorado Trip

This is more from our Colorado Trip. We stopped to visit the family- Here is Ashlynne with Great Great Uncle Jim and Aunt Raylene.

Our little sleeping beauty. Our hotel in Vail was awesome. It was a four star hotel- complete with underground heated parking! Ashlynne slept in the other big bed in our room. She looked so tiny!

Fort Collins, Colorado

We spent two weeks at Fort Collins, Colorado. It was so beautiful. It got really cold for a couple of days, and It felt like Christmas. Weird, I know, but hey. I love to visit the cold weather, but so glad I don't live in it.
