Trouble

Seriously there has been nothing but trouble happening in this house. While Colby is up to no good and getting into everything from helping me unload the dishwasher, playing in the toilets, and unloading all the bottom cupboards for me..............


Molly has been up to this. Potty training is so not fun. But we are getting the hang of things. We are only on the beginning of day 2 of really cracking down on it. I know to some of you, you are thinking she is old enough to be trained I know this, and don't think we haven't tried for months. My doctor said with how smart she is she should have been trained at 18 months. However, this is my girl who is terrified of EVERYTHING.

When we first tried I said I was never buying a potty chair because 1) gross, who wants to clean those nasty things when they poop, and 2) you then have to retrain them to go on the big potty. So we bought a little toilet seat to put on the big toilet and she hates it. She refused to sit on it even if we hold her.

Our next attempt I broke down and bought a potty. Not just any potty. It is a princess potty that sings and lights up when she pees in it. We brought it home and she screamed because she did not want me to even get it out of the box. I have heard that you can't force them to do it so I sat it in the laundry room for a week and talked about it every day. We went and picked out Tinker Bell panties and chocolate balls (whoppers) for her treat. Once we convinced her to actually sit on the potty she quickly learned that mom would wait on her hand and foot. Get me my babies, get my juice, I want a book, I want a movie.......... but she would sit there for hours. No joke 3 hours would pass and she would do nothing. The second she got off she peed. We did this for months. A few times she started peeing because I guess she forgot what she was doing, but then stopped immediately after one little drop of pee. So we stopped pushing the issue again.


Monday morning on October 4th (sorry this is for my records) I decided that this was the week. I got the potty out and she was excited to sit on it. WHAT!!! 20 minutes later she peed, and not just a drop. 45 minutes later she did it again. We were both so excited. I was making a huge deal of it! This continued the entire day. Then a huge milestone happened, she pooped. After she was done she was so excited she jumped up to show me and as she was telling me to come see she peed. Oh man. I felt bad for her because she really didn't mean to do it. Other than that she did awesome. It is only 10 AM on day 2 and she has is doing awesome. I am so proud of her!!!

As for me I am ready for it to be done. Between getting everything she needs and cleaning up after Colby's destruction I am tired. If anybody has any tips to help us out give them to me. She is doing great, but how do I get her to tell me when she needs to go? I am the one constantly asking and she will tell me yes or no but how do I get her to just tell me?

Our Silly Molly

We can't seem to get enough of this girl. She is so funny. Some of the pictures I have posted show her personality so well. She is our littler entertainer/performer, and a little tease. How could we not love this girl?

In this picture it was Colby's birthday but she also thought it was her birthday too. Luckily Grandma Connie brought presents for her too. Talk about spoiled.

Molly is hands down a daddy's girl. She has Aaron right where she wants him. I however don't mind because when daddy is home she makes daddy do everything for her. He is the only one to help her, read to her, change her bum, put her to bed..... and so on. I think it is adorable.

She loved to play in Grandma and Grandpa Hunter's tree in Idaho. She thinks she is so big.

She is constantly asking me for olives. Not that she wants to eat them or anything, they are just to play with and tease and tickle her brother with olive fingers.

Yesterday we met up with uncle Kason so he could show off his new cop car ( it is a new charger). Molly thought it was the coolest thing ever. Kason let her sit in the driver seat and she watched people on the camera, and sat in the "dog cage" (the back seat has a safety cage in it.) He even turned on the lights for her and that is all she talked about the rest of the day. In fact our conversation on the way home went a little like this;

Me: Molly that was fun to see uncle Kason, and his new car wasn't it?

Molly: Ya mom, it had rainbow light too!

Me: That is cool Molly, what color were the lights?

Molly: Red, blue, and yellow, like in a rainbow!

Me: Good Job Molly, we like rainbows don't we

Molly: We do huh mom. And in my world people eat rainbows and poop butterflies!

I started laughing so hard. That last line she got from Horton Hears a Who, an obsession she had a year ago. She comes up with the funniest things and it makes me wonder if she is really only 2.

One Year Down

On July 6th my baby boy turned 1 year old. It was harder on me than when Molly turned one. With her I guess I was excited and looked forward to her birthday. The fact that I was already pregnant with Colby and knowing that I was going to have a baby again soon enough played a big role too. As I browsed through pictures of this last year I was a bit emotional. The time goes so quickly and I forget so quickly all the special moments. Colby has been such a blessing in our lives. It was hard for me to come to grips with having another child so close to the first. I was not ready in so many ways. However, I would not change it for the world. Colby is by far the sweetest little boy ever. He has big blue eyes, and he can light up a room with his smile. We joke about how you know your kids are cute when people go out of their way to tell you how adorable they are. We get stopped multiple times when we are out in public by random people telling us how cute they are. I have to agree as well. Colby has so much personality and is the most lovable boy. He LOVES his sister can't seem to get enough of her. As Colby is getting older it is so fun to sit back and watch them play together. Molly is like a mini mommy to him. He is a mama's boy and I love it. Colby gives the best slobbery open mouth kisses ever, and he does it all day. He is a climber, he has been climbing our stairs for a few months, climbs on the couch, and his sister. His favorite place in the house is the toilet. He is a very curious little boy. Every morning he has to give daddy loves and stand on the porch and wave bye bye, if we do not do that he is one mad little boy. Colby is starting to walk. He has been standing on his own for a while but he is now taking 2-3 steps on his own and then he stands back up by himself too. I am excited to see him grow and watch more of his personality develop. I am grateful to be a mother and for the joy that it brings to my life. I am grateful to have the opportunity to be at home to raise my children. They teach my every day and and I love them so much! Happy Birthday little Colbster!

2 Month Overview

Wow I don't even know why I blog. Is it already June? Nearly 2 months and I have not done any posts. We have been up to a lot of fun. Again, I am going to post a million pictures. We are loving the weather and playing in our yard. These pictures are in no particular order.
This is a picture of Molly shutting the door on her brother. She loves to lock him in rooms and he hates it. In this picture she shut the door on her shirt and she was stuck. Serves her right I guess!

We went to Salt Lake to see the new display they have of the temple. It is way cool, it is an exact replica of the actual temple. It really is amazing and a great missionary tool. The kids loved walking around the temple grounds and the favorite part was all the fountains.

My kids really are best buddies and I love it. Molly is so good with her brother and Colby just loves her to pieces. Colby always wakes up in the morning first and gets so excited when he hears Molly.

I am a bit biased but they really are so stinking cute! I don't know what I would do without these two little monkeys. They keep me on my toes but I sure do love them!

Well my house is slowly getting decorated and I love it. This is a shelf that I made and it turned out perfect. It is in my dining room.

We had the opportunity to go to the zoo with my mom's work. My sister and her kids met us there too. This was our first time and it was a success. Molly is terrified of any thing from aunts, birds, dogs, etc, so I have never taken her there because I knew she would just panic. When we first got there she was a little nervous but luckily it didn't last. She loved it and talked about it for weeks. Her favorite was the giraffes and the baby elephant. Colby loved the monkey's. He just giggled over them and it was so cute.

The train ride. It was fun for about 30 seconds but we sat in the very front and there was a big loud fan that blew on us the entire way and Molly was not happy. She screamed during most of the ride.

Molly, Grandma Connie, and the giraffes! We had so much fun at the zoo and can't wait to go again when daddy can come. It was a workout pushing the double stroller up those hills.

I LOVE that my princess has hair finally. And I love doing new things to it. She however, is not a fun of getting her "pretties" in. This is proof! Everyday she says, "I don't want mine pretties mom I don't like to get sprayed." Sorry Molly you will just have to learn because I am not going to stop!

Time for the gates, this is his favorite place in the house. He gets so proud of himself when he sneaks out of sight. Where did my baby go? I am not ready for him to turn one. He is so full of personality and can put a smile on any ones face! We are so glad he is a part of our little family!

We are so glad it is finally summer. We are looking forward to BBQ's, swimming, parades, family reunion, and living in the yard!

Easter and Spring Time

BEWARE: Picture overload!

I can't believe I have let the months go by and haven't even blogged about them. The weeks just kind of slipped away. The kids and I are longing for the warm weather not the kind that comes for a day then snows the next. The few nice days we have had, we lived outside, been on lots of walks, found different parks to play at, but our favorite was the little pond by our house with ducks, geese, fish, and otters. Aaron is dying to be out working in the yard in between work, school, and homework. We are slowly meeting a few people in our neighborhood. Everybody goes into hibernation for the winter so it has been hard to get to know people. We finally got callings after six months of living in the ward. Aaron is a home teaching district leader and the ward choir pianist. (We are now looking for a piano to purchase.) I was called onto the relief society activities committee. Hopefully that will help me get to know some sisters. I have learned that the best place to meet friends is in the mothers lounge! Seriously.

Anyway, Easter was great! Listening to conference is always so amazing. Saturday morning we got up and went to the Easter egg hunt in Payson. It was FREEZING and so not worth it. Is it ever?

Easter Egg Hunt and grandma and grandpa Pages later that afternoon. So much better! Way better candy and tons more. Molly ended up getting M&M's in almost every egg. Grandma Page knows that that is Molly's favorite treat!



She couldn't have been happier. All the adults get to go out and hide the eggs and for the little ones we just throw them out in the lawn but for the bigger kids we hide them really well, that way if they can't find them the adults get them! However, Molly found must of her eggs hidden and not on the lawn she was so excited every time she found one.

She is so stinking cute, when she spotted her Easter basket she ran so fast! The next few pictures show her running to the basket!

Colby was also so excited! He got a basket full of yummy baby food, balls, books, and bowling! I love his smiling little face!

Colby is growing so fast. All in one week he learned to roll over crawl, pull himself up to furniture/people and cruise along. He didn't even ease us into things, one day he just decide to go. Molly and Colby are such good buddies. They love each other and can make each other laugh over nothing. I hope they stay best friends!

The other day I caught Molly sharing her ring pop with Colby and boy was he in heaven...until she took it away.

We also got a new washer and dryer and I have learned that this is Colby's favorite place. He loves to sit in front of the dryer and watch all the clothes go round and round. I am sure the next picture I take he will be inside. He is all boy!

This weekend we went to Idaho for Aaron's little sisters graduation! We stayed in Idaho Falls at Grandma and Grandpa Hunters. When we got there nobody was home so we ran around outside.

Ok honestly who says boys clothes aren't as fun as girls? Look at how cute my little man is! I got this outfit for 7$ at the Just Between Friends Sale. Are you kidding it is even Gymboree. Anyway, I have decided that my kids have so many cute church clothes and I am going to start taking pictures of them every week before church. I think Molly has so many dresses that she wears them once or twice and then she is too big for them. I know it is sad but when you find them for so cheap it is hard to resist.
