Roll away ribbon

Now if this is not the face of guilty I dont know what is. Noelle loves ribbon, string, yarn anything that comes and goes with her.
She strung this ribbon from the living room to the computer area. What fun. On a positive note at least the clean up is easy!

Christmas memories

The Christmas season has been a hand full this year. Noelle is very active and just loves the tree the lights the ribbon and anything else she can get her hands on.
Noelle is now crawling and trying to stand on her own--braving independence and holding on to nothing. It is fun to see her discover new things each day. The other day she found the buttons on the TV. Oh dear--it used to be a battle with the remote now she can shut off the tv, turn up the sound or do what she wants with BUTTONS. I guess that is the hazards with a tall child she can reach every where it seems. We sure love our bundle of joy!

River Boat Riders

If you have not been to San Antonio I would highly recommend it. The downtown area is just beautiful. Keven and I took a tour of the Riverwalk area in San Antonio on a river boat. I have to admit it is well worth the 8 bucks to go. These river boats hold I would guess about 30 people and have a tour guide. The barge takes you throughout the downtown area where you can see all sorts of fun architecture, flowers, shops for shopping and great eating establishments. There were several boats that had bands on them and everyone was dressed in Halloween gear. They were really fun to see.
Noelle made her own friend on the boat ride. She was hold the finger of the guy sitting across from her. It was really a cute gesture from Noelle to this guy. I did not even know she had grabbed his finger until he said something to me. It really made his day.

The Alamo

One can't go to Texas and not stop by the Alamo. Keven and I and Noelle had a chance to stop by early Sunday morning before we few home. We were only able to look in windows and gates since they were closed at the 7am hour. However, it was fun to see and read the history markers and such.

The Adventures of the Lyon Family

A few weekends ago our family had the opportunity to go to San Antonio Texas. It was Noelles first flight and she was a perfect angel. Eating, sleeping and checking out the scenery through the window. Of course she loved it she got to be held and had all of her toys within reaching distance. The flight was long but she has now been to states of Arizona, Texas and Colorado. Pretty exciting for a little tyke.

Happy Halloween

Halloween was loads of fun this 2008 year. Noelle was just 7 months old and nearly to large for her sunflower costume. Sheila and Edgars kids came over for some tricking and treating. Brandon was a Black Knight, Edgar was a Ninja, Maddie was a Princess and Gabbie a Jeanie (sp). Keven a farmer and my a potato. We finished the night at a local trunk and treat. Keven was a chili contest judge and I just enjoyed the eating.

Toes work better

When the pacy is just out of reach for Noelles' little hands and the finger is simply to hard to suck on. Why not try the toe! Wow I wish that I were this flexible. Right now Noelle will give just about anything a try--if she can just get it to her mouth. Toys, clothes, books you name it. It is interesting that this is more tasty then her cereal--which she refused to eat.

I got a good laugh out of this photo! Does or does this not remind you of Great Grandpa Cheney (or Grandpa Cheney) The hat the lip, the smile.
We painted her walls a fun lemon curd. It sure is bright be we have grown to love it! It is fun having our own house to decorate and spurce up--any old way we like it.

Beauty Queen

Noelle had her first chance to grace the swimming pool. What a darling. Noelle loved sitting around and catching the rays much like myself. Ya gotta love a good tan!

Isn't she darling.  At church on Sunday a older fellow asked me---What is that growth on your babies head.  He was teasing me about the big bows that I dress her up in.  One of these days she will have cute little earrings to go with her girly girl stuff.

IT is TRUE

Don't worry folks--the church is still true--the world is not coming to and end--but yes I CAMPED.  Look Jenn we used the tent and it was great.  This year for the family reunion we camped out in Lower Buhl.  It was actually a really nice location and there was running water!!  toliets!! and lots of space.  Noelles first time camping!  She was a perfect angel--of course!

The Koyle Family reunion was swarming with babies this year.  I think that there were 11 or so all under the age of 1. I was really excited when I found out my sisters were expecting babies around the same time that I was.  Noelle is 2 months older then both Hyrum and Gabriela seen here.  The reunion was loads of fun this year--as always we ate well, scrapbooked, ate, played, ate, and much more.  

Sometimes Church is a drag

Now that must have been a powerful sacrament meeting!  This was the day after the Koyle family reunion.  We had all gone to Brian and Mindys ward for Hyrums blessing and this is was the 3rd row by the end of the meeting.  I bet the speakers were nervous looking down and seeing how things were going when half a row was asleep.  Tired boys!  When they crash they crash hard!

Don't hate me because I'm Beautiful!

Noelle got all dressed up for a friends wedding reception.  She is just growing like a weed.  I have realized that Noelle loves to shop.  She is going to be just like her mommy.  When we sift through clothes at the store she squeals and wiggles about cute dresses.  It really is fun to see.

Well, with the love of shopping comes the price.  Sometimes to get the things you want you have to work hard for them.  Noelle had her first job.  Our neighbor Lucy asked Noelle if she would babysit Buns the bunny for 2 weeks while they vacationed in Oregon.  Noelle was happy to do so and thus earned her first 20 dollars.  Buns loved to eat carrots from our garden--left over salad and the neighbors beets.  What fun!

The fun blanket in the back ground of this photo was some fabric that I saw at my grandmothers house over 20 years ago. She saved it for me to have when I had a baby. She said that she was worried that it would never happen. The blanket is just lovely--infact beautiful and a treasure from Grandma Koyle.

A Unique Name

Noelle Nizhoni Lyon

There has been some wondering on where Noelle got her name.

Keven and I quickly came to 2 names that we loved. Noelle being one and Abigail the other. As many of you know Keven and I waited patiently for 9 months to see our precious baby and then decide on the final name.

Once upon a day Keven hinted that he wanted a french name for one of our children. He suggested Noelle and I loved it. Keven served his mission in France and that was the root of his desire. I as well have had in mind for many years the name Nizhoni which is a word in Navajo meaning "beautiful". So to represent both our missions we combined the two names.

There was no stuggle in the deciding of name Noelle Nizhoni.

However, the struggle came when Noelle was born and we were trying to decide between Noelle and Abigail. We tried out each name for one day and just came back to Noelle. We thought since it snowed 3 inches the day she was born that she brought her own "beautiful Christmas" day.

Adventures of a little lyon

Spring has sprung on Temple Square
Welcome to the "out of house" adventures of Noelle. Noelle had to have one visit to Temple Square before all the beautiful tulips wilted away and spring melted into summer. Keven and I have decided that Noelle brought with her arrival all the late snow we have gotten this spring. I honestly dont think the tulips appreciated the late winter but none the less the grounds are beautiful.

Just recently Noelle ventured out to her cute friend Annabelles baby blessing.
We attend the ward of Liz and Annabelle and Noelle got to experience something new and fun herself. She had never been to church with lots of babies and you should have seen how wide her eyes were when she heard other children fussing and crying. It was a really fun experience.

11 pounds and growing

Now 4 weeks young Noelle is weighing in at nearly 11 lbs. She is wearing a 6 month jammie in this photo and if she stretchs her legs she is the same length as the jammies. My My she is beautiful.

Growing like a weed!

Here is a fresh look at our little "lion"! Noelle is developing loads of personality....As you can see she has one thing on her mind and that is dinner. I have quickly come to recongnize the signs.
