California in February!

It was a great decision to take a trip to see my family in CA. Not only was it enjoyable as always to see them, but it was the perfect time for a mid winter break to soak up some sun. Here are a few pictures of our fun. I'll add more pictures in the future that my dad captured on his camera of carousel rides, swinging, and much more.

14 months!

Well I dropped the ball the last few months keeping up on caysens developments, but he is growing into a little toddler. I love watching him explore things, make connections, and remember things. His little brain is constantly working. I'm going to try and list some things about him, but I'm sure there will be future blog posts with little bits here and there describing his development.
He loves walking and running.
His attempt at jumping looks like he's doing squats or dancing
He thinks the only way to throw a ball is to put it over your head with both hands (he's seen way too much basketball:)
He's getting better at his fine motor skills, which include coloring
He is a very good eater most of the time. Especially if its chicken nuggets, tomatoes, olives, pancakes, hotdogs, cheese or anything with spaghetti sauce on it.
He tries to dribble a basketball by slapping it
He climbed out of his crib at 13 months
He says a variety of things including mama, da da, papa, hide (Heidi), ball, ba-ball (basketball), no, dont, Na-na (banana), boon (balloon), vroom vroom, choochoo, woof-woof, meow  he's working on shoes, hoop. I, sure I've forgotten things he says. I love that he's beginning to communicate better, but the best part is that he understands so much more!
He loves his bath and now swims around and loves his bath toys
He loves dancing to music
He loves going to the indoor swimming pool (the only way we are surviving winter)
He loves wrestling and snuggling (he knows the way to each of his parents hearts:)
He's such a joy and I love hanging out and playing with him all day!

11 Months!!

My baby will be one next month! I used to think it was annoying when everyone would say "time flies" "you'll blink and all your kids will be grown" but now i see all of those comments are true. This year seems to have sped by. Ive tried so hard to enjoy every moment-soak up every smile, make eye contact whenever he looks at me for reassurence, catch him when he falls (which is an IMPOSSIBLE task) and just love him and be the best mom I know how to be.
Right now Caysen-
-loves walking everywhere definitely his preferred mode of transportation
-dances anytime he hears music
-Eating a variety of foods, but refuses baby food
-constantly has a bruised head
-points at anything and everything
-loves to kick the ball around
-knows how to blow rasperries
-thinks its funny to bite (we're working on this one) no one wants to be the parent of "THAT" kid
-cries whenever James leaves for work (definitely has an amplified love for dad nowadays)
-shows more and more personality everyday.

Dad & Grandpa Carr Visit

My Dad traveled to St George to spend some time with my Grandpa (who suffers with Alzhiemers)  while my Grandma had some much needed girl time on a cruise with her daughters. Of course the first thing my Dad looks into is BYU's football schedule and lucky enough there was a home game that weekend. So, my Dad and Grandpa traveled to Provo and we met up with them to go tothe BYU vs. BOISE ST. football game. We had a blast! Then they were able to come spend a couple nights at out house. It was great to see my Dad and Gpa even if it was just for a short bit. Caysen especially loved spending time with his Papa-having wrestle time, banging pots and pans, and feeling his scratchy face :)

10 Months

My baby is not so baby anymore. I'm a little sad that he keeps learning new things everyday, but I'm happy ill be able to have more children to enjoy the baby stage with again. Here's an update on Caysen:
-He points at everyone and everything. He has learned that pointing will get him what he wants, which is great when I'm letting him choose what to eat for lunch, but not so great when he demands the majority of the day. Now that he realizes he's allowed to have an opinion and knows how to express it he sure does all day long
-He took his first steps! So fun but he is in no way a professional walker. By the looks of his poor bruised head you can tell. He take a few steps here and there, but crawling is definitely his preferred form of transportation
-He says mama, dada, nana (banana or really any food at thus point), kkkkk for kitty
-When you aske where is jesus he points to our one picture of jesus hanging on the wall.
-sleeps through the night ... has been for awhike (so grateful)
-He laughs whenever someone else is laughing or if he wants attention from someone
-He babbles nonsense all day long. I love it :)
-He almost always sits with his feet crossed.
-He squeezes his fists together and and shakes when he's super excited or super mad.
-He HATES getting dressed (you'd think it was torture)
- He LOVES reading books and rolling the ball back and forth

I love my little guy :)

Family Fall Friday

Seinfeld has Festivus Charlie Brown has The Great Pumpkin and the Logans have invented Family Fall Day! What does this day entail? ... Pumpkin Patch, tractor ride, halloween dinner, candy corn cookies, witches broom reeses,

and fall movie (Remember the Titans). Caysen LOVED it all especially the pumpkin patch.
