I got Parker's 9 month pictures this weekend, so I thought I would share some of my favorites.  OK, maybe a lot of my favorites :)

We got some family photos done as well, so I could have some to pick from for the Christmas card.  I love these outside ones!  It was kind of a blustery day, but Parker did great and loved all the leaves!

9 Months

October 21st marked Parker's 9 month birthday.  I'm finally getting around to getting them all posted.  Its been so much fun to watch and look back at how much he has changed over the past 9 months.

Fall is Here

This weekend was full of fall activities.  We just stayed at home all weekend, but man did we get a lot done. I made about six apple crisps and a big batch of cinnamon apple sauce from all the apples that Parker and I picked last week at a co-workers house (thanks Julie)!  Meanwhile, Laramie worked on the outside of the house.  He got all the leaves raked up and mulched and the yard looked perfect.  However, it only took one day before the yard was full of leaves again and looked like he hadn't done anything the day before.

But, before Laramie mulched up all the leaves, Parker asked Dad if he could play in the leaves.  Boy did he LOVE them!

We had a great weekend!  I was relaxing but at the same time we got a lot of stuff done.  Hopefully there are a few more weekends like this ahead before it starts getting cold.

Corn Maze

On Sunday, Laramie headed out to Seattle for work, so Parker and I went up to Eden Prairie to hang out with my sister Brittany and nephew, Kellen.  They moved up to MN about two months ago and we haven't been able to have a play-date yet!  So Sunday was the day!

We headed down to Shakopee to Sever's Corn Maze.  The place is huge.  They have pumpkins, a corn pit, petting zoo, giant slide, a huge corn maze and many other activities for kids.  We attempted the corn maze, but after getting into the maze and actually looking at the map, we looked at each other and decided we could easily get lost in this, so lets just do a quick loop and say we did it (it's our little secret.)

The corn pit was quite interesting.  It was literally this giant area full of shelled corn that was about 2-3 feet deep.  Brittany was the first brave one to go in with both the kiddos.

Parker was cool with the pit.  I was pretty impressed that he didn't start eating the corn.  There was only once where I had to grab a small corn cob out of his mouth.  Yuck!!!  Kellen, however, was not the biggest fan of the pit.  Every time he tried to stand up, he would just sink and he did not like that!

I think this trip was more for the Mom's than it was for the kiddos, because lets be honest, there wasn't much to do there for an 8 month old and an 11 month old, but we still had a great time.  We used the time for some good photo ops :)

Oh Kellen!  That's all I can say to that one!

They had a small pumpkin patch of pre-picked pumpkins, so of course we used that for some good photos.

We had a great time and decided that this will be an annual trip each fall.  It was great to hang out with my sister and her little boy.  I can definitely see more play-dates in the near future.

Parker turned 8 months today.  My little peanut is growing up too fast.  Here is some pics from a mini photo shoot this evening…

Apple Orchard

Fall is here and we are loving the weather.  Today was a PERFECT day so we spent every minute possible outside.  We had a fun filled day of activities.  We first headed to the farmers market so I could get some green beans to make baby food and then we headed out of town.  My dad had told us of a John Deere demo day over in Millville, MN so that was our next stop.  We test drove gators and did some off roading with them.  Unfortunately (or fortunately) there are no pictures of that.  I think we have decided on which gator we want when we move to the new house in November.

Our next stop was an apple orchard.  What a beautiful day for it.  The orchard that we stopped at not only had apples but also had pumpkins, hay rides and animals.  Parker had a great time playing in the hay and the pumpkins.

There were lots of fun activities to do.  We looked at the goats, chickens and the bunnies.  We even measured Parker on the "How Tall this Fall" chart.

After we got done with all the activities it was time to start picking some apples.  There were quite a few different kinds but we knew exactly which ones we wanted.  We ended up with some Galas, Cortland's and Honeygold's.  All of them are great for baking, eating and making baby food.  Parker thoroughly enjoyed the picking of the apples.

They had rows upon rows of apples trees.  The probably had over fifteen different varieties that you could pick.  The trees were just full of apples and there were plenty of good ones to pick.

We had a great time at the apple orchard and is definitely something that we will continue to do each year with Parker.  It will be fun next fall when he is up and running around, wanting to pick all of his own apples.  Hope everyone has a great fall!
