Night out at the LACMA

We went to an outdoor showing of the Pixar shorts last night at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.  It is also where the famous Tar Pits are located.  There was an interactive art feature that Ethan said looked like "yellow spaghetti".  We had a great time and will probably do it again.  We really haven't done much around the town since Lincoln was born so if felt good to have an evening out.

Adjusting

So we are all adjusting to our new schedule with Ethan being in school. People have asked me how I'm doing with it.  To tell you the truth, I was so ready for this.  Of course, when Ethan asks me questions like, "Why do I have to go to school EVERY day?", I do get a little sad because I know that he will now go to school for the rest of his young life.  But I feel like I made good use of these first five years.  Because I didn't send him to preschool, I have been able to spend a lot of time with him.  But our relationship has been somewhat strained these last six months because I knew he was ready for more challenges and stimulation.  After only two weeks of school, our relationship is better already.  He gets to actually miss me when he is at school.

As for my other two kids, I am enjoying spending some more alone time with Annalisa.  We are starting solids with Lincoln (she always wants to feed him) and his two bottom teeth have just about broken through.  He now does this really cute thing where he pulls in his bottom lip (see picture below).  Who wouldn't want to hang out with these two everyday?;-)

Ethan is five!

We celebrated Ethan's fifth birthday this past weekend. We went swimming and opened presents with his friend Korven. I attempted to make a ship cake that my sister had made before. You can see in the picture below what it was supposed to look like. However when it fell apart we had to get creative and make it a shipwrecked ship instead... Ethan loved it anyway. He also loved his present, some remote control trains. He is growing up so fast!

Kindergarten!

Ethan started school yesterday for the first time. He has never done any type of school away from home so I was worried how the day would go. He cried for a few minutes when he realized I was leaving and then I set him down to another boy and he started talking to him and he was just fine. He was really excited to tell me about it after the school day was over and he was excited to go back this morning which I think is a good sign I hope he can continue to adjust well. I'm so proud of him!
