I'm guessing your Nativity doesn't include the three other "Wise Men"... Cinderella, Maleficent, and Ursula.

Getting a jump on the holiday season
The girls decided today to write letters to Santa, which has made me realize they've been watching far too much tv with commercials. The letters were pretty amusing; here are some excerpts from Quay's:
Dear Santa,
How are you doing at the North Pole? I want a Cinderella cookie and other things too, please.... And please can I have star cookies too please? I'm going to share with my mom and dad and sister and brother when he grows up. And I want a flower for my mom. And can I have toy fire please?... And I want toy eyes for our potato heads. And I want potato heads... And a toy with real hair like me and my mom and my sister and a little bit of hair like my dad....
And she even signed her own name, all by herself for the first time ever! Babs' letter was pretty straightforward, including lots of detail about exactly which Barbies she wants. But her letter ended inexplicably with this postscript:
"I love Santa. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"
I hope he's not scared off by threats of cannibalism.

Finally catching a few zzzzzzz's
I'm thrilled to announce that after 2 months of waking up 3 or 4 (or more!) times a night and insisting on a snack, MungBean slept 7 1/2 hours straight the last two nights in a row! I've probably broken the streak by sharing this info with the world, but I just had to rejoice! It makes me think there's maybe a glimmer of hope on the horizon for some sanity in my life.... we'll see!

Influential Lyrics
In case you ever wondered if kids pay attention to the words of the music they hear... This afternoon, I was singing "In our Lovely Deseret" while getting QuayQuay ready to go out. When I got to the line that says "Children's voices, oh how sweet," she stopped me and using her sweetest voice, sang her favorite primary song: Jesus Said Love Everyone. When she finished she told me to continue my song. As I sang the final line "They with happy hearts and cheerful faces meet," Quay turned on her most charming smile and batted her eyelashes at me. It was pretty dang adorable.
So I think for my next number I'll be singing either "When my mother calls me, quickly I obey" or "When we're helping we're happy!"

Welcome to the blog!
I hope you've been enjoying the pictures and video clips so far, but I thought a little text might be called for. You know the kids, of course, but for the sake of being a little shy on the web, we'll use nicknames here. Our lovely redhead is Babs; our firecracker blondie is QuayQuay; and our bouncing baby boy is Mungbean. The first photos that we posted are from the girls' first day of dance class. Babs is taking Ballet; in fact she was recently promoted to Ballet 2, and though she's the youngest and the littlest in the class, she's keeping right up with the bigger girls. QuayQuay loves her Creative Dance class. On the first day, she kept getting distracted from dancing when she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. Well, who can blame her, she's awfully cute! She's looking forward to performing with her class at the Festival of Trees next month. As for Mungbean, he's working hard on rolling. He can roll across the room when he wants to, though he often gets stuck on his tummy and will just call for help. He also likes to scoot along on his back, and when I set him down and walk away, he's never in the same place when I get back. Life with three is pretty hectic! There's never a dull moment around here!
