Long Time NO Blogging!!

A lot of things have gone on in the Andersen Family, and I figured before I did a major "Blog Overload" I should preface future posts with a brief update. 

So it has been two and a half years since my last post, and although Lyndsey does look adorable in these baby pictures, she has grown up into quite the little lady with a feisty personality.  Ian too has grown up so much that it kind of makes me teary-eyed looking at older pictures of him.  He is quite the smarty pants and have a very creative imagination. 

For the last year and a half I have been in school doing prerequisites for Nursing School, and working full time at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital ICU as a CNA.  Jared is still working as a music teacher for Cyprus HS, and is currently working on arranging percussion ensemble music in his "spare" time.
Besides working really hard and having lots of fun in the meantime we have some major changes approaching us with this new year.

I am just nearly finished getting my Nursing School application submitted....eeekkk I'm totally nervous about it...but really hoping to get in the first time.  I am applying to the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona.  I am able to get a master's degree in nursing there and it will make a great stepping stone towards my doctorate in nursing which is my ultimate goal....being a nurse practioner.  Of course we are nervous about this new adventure, but feel that as a family we are ready for a little change in scenery.  As a result of this upcoming adventure this will be Jared's last year teaching and will become the "stay at home dad."  He is excited for this new role, and I'm so thankful to have such a supportive Hubby. 

We have had many adventures in the last two and a half years, and now that I am not taking classes this semester I finally have time to update our blog.  Yeah!!  My goal is to keep it updated so that everyone will be involved in this crazy loop we call life.  In the next few weeks I will be adding/updating photos of the kids, and all the fun things we have done as a family.  So stay tuned because this going to be probably the most amazing update ever!  :)

Lyndsey Has Arrived!!!

For those of you who aren't on facebook and haven't heard the awesome news yet...we had our baby girl!! Lyndsey Michelle Andersen was born on June 12th at 2:02pm. She weighed in at 7lbs. and 1oz. 20 inches long. We are excited that she is here and I will have pictures posted hopefully by this weekend.

No One Told Me It Would Be This Hard!! (The Second Time Around)

So I know that I haven't posted anything in a while, but for whatever reason felt the need to complain a little bit, and since this is my blog I can do and say whatever I want right?! I have decided that being pregnant and having a toddler is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I also think that with this pregnancy my body just isn't handling it as well as the first time...I know I"m a little older but man am I feeling it. Yesterday's weather was quite nice so I decided to take Ian for a walk, and at the same time drop off reminders for Activity Days...since I'm an activity days leader for our ward. After my 20-30 minute walk I was so sore!! I couldn't believe it! I have been staying active with this pregnancy since the beginning to avoid this type of pain. I swear I pulled my hip flexor muscle and now I try to walk and siatic nerve pain shoots down my leg. SO needless to say not only am I doing the "waddle walk" but I also look ridiculous because I don't want to put too much weight on my sore leg. Apparently being 27 weeks pregnant and pushing a stroller isn't a good idea. All I want to do now is sit and never move again, but for anyone who knows Ian you know that isn't even possible. Hopefully in the next few days I will be able to walk with less pain and less "waddling" but we will have to see.

As for everyone else...Jared is working really hard all the time. He is quite busy that sometimes by the time he gets home from his other job I'm out as a light (which doesn't take much now a days). Ian is getting big and always has something to say. He knows all his colors now and whenever he sees anything he has to tell you what it is and it's color. It is quite cute. He has been in nursery for the last few months and is finally starting to enjoy going. His favorite primary song right now is "Follow the Prophet" because he gets to run around all over the place while you sing the song. I think Jared and I sang it 10 times last night before telling him that the prophet went to bed so Ian needs to be in bed too. :) I will hopefully get some updated pictures posted soon, so keep an eye out.

Ultrasound Pictures

This is the infamous gender shot. The ultrasound tech assurred me that we were definetly having a girl. Although I will have them double check when I go for another ultrasound at the end of March.




This is a profile picture of Girl Andersen....and yes we still have no idea what we are going to name her. Jared and I compared this profile to Ian's and they are extremely similar (I think they are identical..but Jared is hopeful that this baby will look a little more like him than me.)

This ultrasound was a little better than Ian's. Ian was moving all over the place and the tech had a really hard time finding the necessary things. This baby was totally chill and very well behaved....I'm hopeful that will still be the case when she arrives. Besides it was nice not having an ultrasound probe jabbed into your side to "hold" the baby still. :)

Drum Roll Please....

Well the results are in from my ultrasound today. We are having a girl!! I"m really excited, and glad to level out the playing field. I will try to post pictures if I can figure out how to get my parents scanner to work. As for new things with our family, there really isn't anything new going on. Ian is still a ball of energy and doesn't stop till it is time for bed. Jared is working really hard all the time to provide for us, and I am trying to keep my house clean from the tazmanian devil I call Ian. :) Other than that it is just the same old stuff going on here.

It's Official!

So yes those silly rumors are true! For anyone who has seen me recently you were probably wondering why I have waited so long to say something...or you just thought I was gaining weight again. It's like my body said, ok you're pregnant and stopped fitting into my normal clothes! Jared and I are crazy and have decided to have another baby, but we are really excited! My due date is June 14th, 2010...exactly 25 months to the day apart from Ian...and I am currently starting my 13th week of pregnancy on Wednesday(tomorrow). I will try to keep everyone posted on whats going on and we will definetly announce the sex as soon as we find out. (Hopefully in 6 weeks or so.)
