Oh Henry

 Elementary is over and he's heading to middle school. I cannot handle it! 

3rd grade... I can't find the first day of school pic, but this is orientation night.

End of 8th Grade for Jack

Jack finished school a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be bothered to get up early enough to take a last day of school picture. The spring semester was great. Highlights included an orchestra trip to Branson (where his orchestra won first place), a fun track season, the 8th-grade dance, a Sporting KC game with Uncle Will, and getting his braces off! He's in South Dakota right now on a mission trip and is having a blast! Oh, and his recital was amazing and he made the top high school orchestra. He worked so hard!

Goodbye EPiC: Henry's Last of 5th Grade

 Well, here we are! Henry's last day of 5th grade and last day at EPiC. It was an amazing six years at EPiC for Henry, and eight years for our family. It's a special place.

Today marked the end of two weeks of 5th-grade recognition activities! They went out in style, with a final walk through the halls and then a pool party. This group of kids has been together since kindergarten and are such good friends. It was a bittersweet day since they are splitting up for middle school.

Last week was the 5th-grade recognition program and they also went on a fishing field trip. They also walked to movie theater to see Scooby-Doo and had a yard games day with a visit from the snow cone truck. 

We've also had his end-of-the-year orchestra concert and a fun spring soccer season. 

Snow Days and A Sad Superbowl

We're on snow day #3 of February and might even be out the rest of the week because of the cold. Sadly, real snow days are a thing of the past now that virtual learning is a thing. They still have to do school work at home! Work at home looks like zoom calls (for Jack lots and lots of zoom calls), lots of iPad time working on assignments and being forced to do workout videos with me, go on walks with me and do art projects with me. And, of course, video games with friends. Thank goodness for xBox and headsets.

We're still recovering from the sadness of the Super Bowl. We were so ready for a Chiefs victory, but it wasn't in the cards this year. 

Also of note in the last week, Nathan made Poppy a coat. She hates it.
