The Year of The Wedding

This year has been full of weddings! We have been to a wedding-whether our own or someone elses-every month since May! Its been crazy! Its been so great though. Its been so awesome to share the same year with so many great people in my life! Most exciting though, this year is shared by many of my siblings and my parents. 2011 has been a very special year for weddings in my family.

First, my step-sister Amber married Jake Cook on May 21. It was really fun to be able to go to Vernal and attend her wedding ceremony. Not only did we get a fun road trip, but we got to see a lot of great family members that we dont see very often.

The next big day in the family was June 7th. My dad and my step-mom Marilyn got sealed for all time and eternity in the Bountiful temple this day. We were so excited for them. They were married on June 7th 2005. But they worked really hard to get to the temple. I am so proud of them and so happy for them to be sealed to each other forever.

The next big day was my own! Cameron and I were married in the Bountiful temple on August 11. Despite many trials and mishaps with the wedding planning, our wedding day was beautiful and perfect. I couldnt ask for anyone better to be married to. I love Cameron and cant wait to spend forever with him!

Next up was my step-brother Tyler and his wife Mandy. They were married on September 3. Mandy and Tyler dated for 8 years before their big day! We were so excited to see them tie the knot and have Mandy officially join the family.

Finally, the last marriage of the year was just last week. Whitnee and Justin were married on November 18th in the Draper temple. It was a beautiful wedding! The only downside was it was super cold outside for pictures. But still the day was perfect and she looked beautiful. I am so happy for her and Justin.

2011 has been an amazing year for my family. We are all so happy to share the same year to be married. It really is so special to share that with my parents too. I am sure that it has been hard for all of my parents to lose all of their kids to marriage in a short time. However, at least it was all done fast and quick. Its been really great and we look forward to what 2012 will bring us as well.

Wedding Day!!

Cameron and I were married on August 11. It was such a beautiful day! The weather was very nice...extremely hot and even humid but it was still blue sky and sunny. The day started off very early with me getting my hair done at 8:30. Following my hair I had to hurry home and finish my makeup and getting ready to go to the temple. Finally I was all packed. At 10:45 Cameron picked me up to drive to the temple. Following a few minutes of paperwork it was time to get into my dress. After what felt like forever, it was time to be married. I was so excited and nervous. But it was the best feeling. At noon we were offically married. It was the best experience of my entire life. I got to share it with my closet friends and family. It was so beautiful. After it was all complete the sealer looked at me and said Mrs. Cabe...I totally looked over at Camerons mom when he said this lol. It was so strange to be called Mrs. Cabe. But I love it! Here are a few pictures of the temple:







Following the temple we had our reception at the Wight House in Bountiful. It turned out really great! My mom and grandma and everyone at the fabric store really made the reception so beautiful. Despite a few issues like the water jug breaking and spilling everywhere or my jacket for my wedding dress being left at the temple and having to buy a new one at the last second, the reception went very smoothly and turned out great. It was such a beautiful day!! Even better is that yesterday we celebrated our one month aniversary! I cant believe how fast time has gone. Its been a fantastic month! I am looking forward to many many more!

Wedding Mishaps

Its been a real adventure planning this wedding! We have had a million and one things go wrong. To start out the problems our invitations were a mess! My mom would not decide on a person to do them. So when we finally made a decision on the person, it was the middle of July. They should have been out by then. But we got them going and all was well. Or so you would think... The invitations themselves looked really great. I was very happy with them. However, the envelopes had the wrong return address on them. Then after we made labels to go over them, and sent out the invites, Cameron's mom noticed that the church in Ohio had the wrong address. It was a nightmare! Even worse is the guy who did them didnt have them ready until the very end of July. It was awful. I would not recommend him.

Once this mess was finally taken care of, the food became a problem. I didnt want to serve food at my wedding. I just wanted dessert. So I chose cheesecake. We had just planned on getting them from Costco. Well that was a nice idea. When we went to order them, they said they were not making them anymore. I was dying. So we went a million other places and then finally returned to Costco and pleaded with the manager. Luck was on our side and they agreed to make our cheesecake!! So happy! Problem solved!

But the biggest and the worst of them all was our reception center CAUGHT ON FIRE!!!! It was honestly my worst nightmare coming true. 10 days before my wedding the reception center had a fire. Not exactly good timing!! I was in tears and a mess all day. Luckily prayers were answered and the Wight House was available on my date. We booked it! Its been a fairly easy transition over there. Not my first choice, but it will still be really pretty and nice. I am just grateful it was available. However, the only reason it was, was the couple that had it booked broke up....sad for them...good for us. But hey it worked out and it will be nice.

I am just hoping and praying that we can make it through this next week and not have any more problems. Crossing our fingers!!

Birthday Weekend

This weekend was full of fun!! I got to start celebrating my birthday Thursday and continue celebrating all through the weekend! Thursday we celebrated my birthday at work. It was really fun! They brought cake and everyone got together and ate and chatted. It was a nice break from work. Then on Friday Cameron surprised me and took me to my favorite restaurant-Macaroni Grill-for my birthday! The food was great as usual and it was great to celebrate and enjoy my birthday with Cameron. After dinner we got to go bowling with Amberly and Joe! I just love them! Joe kicked everyone's trash at bowling and lets just say I am not going pro anytime soon.




Then on Saturday I started out the day with a bridal shower! I was really excited to see all of my friends and celebrate. It was pretty fun. I got some pretty interesting gifts lol. But my favorite of them all was my sister gave me a fish! Cameron and I now have our first pet! Cameron took the liberty of naming him and we are now the proud owners of Pug. Yep that's what Cameron named our fish. lol Cameron really loves pugs and wants one really bad. But until we can have a dog this fish will be his pug lol.


After the shower, Heather, Jaclyn and Shell took me out for ice cream for my birthday! We went to coldstone! I love that place. Ice cream is like my biggest downfall in life lol I just love it. Then I came home and got cleaned up and then me and Cameron went to dinner with my mom and step-dad and whit and her boyfriend Justin for my birthday. We went to Robintinos! I love that place. After dinner we came back to our house and had cake and opened presents! I got some really great things! Whit gave me a George Foreman grill! I was so excited. Then my mom gave me an electric frying pan and some other great kitchen gadgets! She also gave me some movies and a nice trash can and toothbrush holder for our bathroom. My grandparents also came over and did presents with us! My grandma always give such fun gifts! This year she gave me some really cute Easter decorations!I am really excited to have cute things to put on display in my house for the holidays! Cameron gave me a super cute new shirt. I just love it.



Sunday was my actual birthday. I turned 22 this year. Man that number sounds weird. I feel like I am really getting old lol. Birthdays that fall on a Sunday are not the most exciting though lol. I got to sleep in and have a great breakfast, then we went to church. After church we went with my step-mom's family and had dinner and celebrated my birthday and my dad's birthday. I got some fun new clothes and some gift certificates to go shopping and to dinner! Cameron and I will really love the chance to go out and have a date night!
The whole weekend was full of celebration! I had a great weekend and a great birthday.

4th of July

The 4th of July this year was really great! Cameron and I wanted to do something fun and different. So we decided to go to the zoo! We also invited Tyler and Kristine to come with us. I am so glad that they came with us! It was really fun. The last time that I went to the zoo I was in elementary school. Basically just way too long ago. I think that my favorite exhibit was the elephants! They were so cute! Especially the baby elephant. It would kick a ball with its trunk and play with the zoo keeper. It would also sit down on an old tire and then not like how it felt and stand up and try again. It was cute! It was fun to watch them eat too. Its so strange that they use their nose to pick everything up and to feed themselves. My next favorite was the giraffes. I made Cameron take a picture in front of the giraffes lol. What can I say...I just thought it was cute.

I was kind of sad that the zoo was under construction and the polar animals were not on display. I really love penguins and polar bears! But they will not be at the zoo for close to a year. I guess that we will have to go back! To finish off our zoo adventure we had all packed a picnic and ate our lunch in the zoo. It was a really fun day spent at the zoo with friends and even better great weather!
Finally for our 4th of July adventure we got to go to Oakridge for dinner and fireworks! I am like a little kid and get so excited to see firework every year. I just love them. Dinner was so good! Its an all you can eat buffet of international foods. There was American food, Mexican, Italian and Jamican food. They were all really good! But I think that my favorite part was the all you can eat dessert lol. They had dessert from all of the different countries. It was so good.
After dinner and now feeling way too full lol it was time for the fireworks! Its really fun to go there and watch fireworks because you sit outside on the golf course and watch them. It is a great spot to people watch and just hang out with family. The fireworks were really great and I am so excited that I got to spend that time with Cameron and watch fireworks together! It was a really great day and we had tons of fun!

Small Preview

Okay they are finally done!!! I am so excited about my engagements! They turned out so cute. I freaking love Jen's photography and I am so glad that she did them for me! So here is just a brief sample. I will save most of them for after the wedding...you know, just to build up suspense lol. jk. But really I love them.





I know that I am weird but I really love serious pictures!!

Busy Busy

Well since my last post life has been totally crazy. We have been wedding planning like crazy! It is good to get lots done...but man I am just ready to have the wedding over lol.
One of the bigger items that we finished planning last week was the wedding cake! Cameron and I were so excited about the cake lol. We are both big Reese's fans so naturally for the bottom tier of cake we did chocolate cake with peanut butter filling!! I am just so excited about it. Even better is the cake decorator told us the filling will taste like Reese's. Does it get any better than that?! Then the middle tier will be vanilla for all those that dont like chocolate or peanut butter. Finally our tier is red velvet! My favorite kind of cake! So I am pretty dang excited about the cake! I cant wait. It will be really pretty too. Very simple but still very pretty.
Along with the cake being done we had our engagements taken! I am really excited! I cant wait to get them back and see what they look like. We both got new outfits for the pictures and were looking pretty dang good if do say so myself lol. Even better is that Cameron did not complain about the kissing pictures! With the pictures done we will be able to finish our invitations and then our wedding video! More things to cross off the list.
We also bought our plane tickets to Ohio for our reception! It is nice to get this done and out of the way.
Mixed in with our crazy week Cameron and I got to have some fun! On Friday we went to the car show in Bountiful with Tyler and Kristine! It was so fun to walk around and look at all of the neat old cars and even some new modern cars! After the car show we went to dinner at Applebees! It was pretty darn good. Then after dinner went back to Tyler and Kristine's house and played the Kinect and ate Fazookies.It was a pretty dang fun night! Thanks guys!
Saturday we ran around like crazy doing engagements and then we did some Fathers Day shopping and some other errands. Then later that night we got to go and see Amberly and Joe! It was really great to see them both!
Coming up this week in the planning is our invitations and the flowers. I am excited about both! I already have everything picked out and know exactly what I want.

Happiness

This weekend was full of happy events! It was a great weekend and lots of fun. On Friday my dad my step-mom got sealed in the temple! I was so excited for them! They have been planning this now for 2 years and it finally happened on their 6th wedding anniversary. I dont remember the last time that I saw my dad as happy as he was that night. I am so excited for them to spend eternity with each other. Even though I was not able to go in to the ceremony, Cameron was and said that it was very great. Congrats to them!!
After the ceremony we went to Orange Leaf for ice cream! I love that place! It was a lot of fun to be with the whole family before they all left on vacation for 2 weeks.
As we were leaving Orange Leaf, Cameron got a call from Tim and Heather. We were so excited to go and see them and hang out for a couple hours! I got to see Heathers adorable new baby lexi and see Marchele!! It was a banner night!
Saturday was so great! I got to take my bridals! I dont have any of the pictures back yet but I have pictures of my hair! It was such a beautiful day! We went to Memory Grove, the Capitol Building, City Creek Park, and the McCuinn Mansion. We got close to 400 pictues! It all turned out so great!



Then after pictures I got to go to Amberly's bachelorette party!! It was so fun to see her and hang out one last time as single girls! I am super excited for her to get married tomorrow!!
Sunday was just a very nice calm and relaxed day. We went to church and then came home and ate dinner with my parents. Then since it was such a nice day Cameron and I hung out outside.
It was a great weekend! Great weather, great friends and great events! So much happiness!!

Road Trip

This weekend me and my family got to road trip for a wedding to Vernal! Vernal is not the most spectacular place but it was still fun to go for a drive and see my step sister Amber get married. To pass the time in the car...we took pictures to document the trip hahaha.


My parents drive a two door Toyota that is a bit cramped to fit people in the backseat. So to make the trip a bit more comfortable and enjoyable my mom rented a car! We got a super nice Jeep Cherokee! It had leather seats, a really large sunroof that came all way to the back seat area, dash cam, digital gauges on the dash, and tons of room!! It was a nice upgrade to our car lol. Even my mom said it was going to be hard to give it back at the end of the day.


My mom took over driving. Jeff drove like a crazy person and made poor Whitnee totally car sick.



Me and Whit just passin the time and being funny. I just love that girl!




We finally made it to the wedding!! We were so happy to be out of the car! After 3 hours of driving we got to stretch our legs and say hi to our family! It had been almost 3 years since I had seen my step sisters so it was really great to see them again!







The wedding was a bit red neck and was at a park in a bowery right next to the playground lol. Her dress was more of a prom dress and the groom wore slacks and a button down shirt with basketball shoes. Most of the guests wore tee-shirts and jeans. It was for sure a vernal wedding. Not quite like anything that I had ever been to lol. But, the best part was the honeymoon was at the Motel 6 right in town lol. Oh man good times!!



We caught Jeff playing at the park! lol ok just kidding. He was playing with his grandson Jayson. But we did get some time to just play at the park and visit with family.




Back on the road again and very bored! In case you have never been to Vernal this is what my view looked like most of the time.


Our last stop of the trip was to Dairy Keen in Heber! They have really great hamburgers and shakes! It was a great dinner! I love it!!



We made it!!! It was a fun trip and long but still we had fun.
