New Year, New BeginningsIt's a new year, and I'm trying to start with a relatively clean slate. I'm cleaning out my inbox, backing up all of my photos and documents, and working my way through the "must finish before classes start on Monday" list that I've managed to mostly ignore until now...Knittish tagged me AGES ago, but I'm just now getting around to it! Here's my 6 weird things... (1) I am a strictly go-in-order girl. If there's a series of books? Have to start with #1. Ditto on tv show-dvds etc... If I (gasp) can't find book #3, I am totally incapable of reading book #4 until I do. (2) I flip through magazines from back-to-front. Not sure how this works with #1, but I never claimed to make sense... (3) I used to be a classic night-owl and thought that waking up before 9 was some form of torture. Now, I very rarely sleep past 8, and usually am up before 7. Gone are the days when I was all productive from like midnight until 3... now, if I don't get my work done before about 2 pm, I start losing brain cells rapidly and by 6 I'm approaching useless. This was really great when I worked in IT, but perhaps not-so-great for the law firm. We shall see. (4) I hate coffee in all of its manifestations. I hate drinks with coffee in them, coffee ice cream, coffee-infused cakes (tiramisu? ick!). I even hate any drinks made with Kahlua. But I like the SMELL of coffee, and I liked the milkshakes a high school friend made with Ben & Jerry's White Russian ice cream. Go figure. (5) I'm a DC-native - born at GW back when the old hospital hadn't been blown up into a giant rubble-field. But I've never actually lived in DC - I grew up in Maryland, and now I live in Virginia. (This may not seem weird. But pretty much everyone who is from DC seems to move by the time they hit their 20s, so most people around here aren't from around here.) (6) My hair doesn't stay curled - no amount of hair spray/gel product will keep my hair from straightening back out. This was extremely inconvenient in high school when I was in plays/musicals that called for curls. I used to have to re-curl between each scene. And those fancy up-dos for prom or whatever? Yeah, not happening. But I am not complaining - I don't own a hair dryer, and I was able to spend 5 days in Ireland without a hair brush without looking too awful! Instead of tagging people, please - help yourself. It's actually really fun to try and think of things about yourself that you want to share with the internets and that are kinda strange. In other news, I need to take pictures of my latest knitting. But for the moment, I'm going to stay away from pictures and cameras and computers - yesterday I got the new card reader for my new camera - camera hasn't come yet, but the card reader did! So, thinking that I was all smart and helpful, I noticed that my roommate's camera had the same type of memory, and that I could use the new card reader to transfer her pictures for her. Or instead, to somehow corrupt the memory card with ALL OF HER CHRISTMAS PHOTOS ON IT. I'm not sure what happened, but it was AWFUL. She was so amazingly sweet about it, but I felt so terrible. Luckily, $30-something later and THIS wonderful program got back all but a couple of the photos, and even got back the movies she had made. I've never been so happy to see photos show up in my entire life... And afterwards we were talking, and remarked that it wasn't as bad when you lost a roll of undeveloped film (back in the days when you, you know, had actual FILM) - because you didn't know what pictures you had lost! But here, we had SEEN all the pictures, so the loss felt more real. (Oh, did it ever!) And I guess it's good that now we have the data-recovery software should anything like this ever happen again (knock on wood), AND we both got freaked out about backing up our pictures, which is good because I really should put everything on my external hard drive more often - but I still think I could have used the lesson say, with pictures of knitting instead of with my roommate's irreplaceable Christmas pictures. So yes, me and the camera are going to have a little time apart today. Unless, of course, my new camera arrives from UPS, in which case all bets are off... Labels: Random 0 comments || # Thursday, November 09, 2006 Next Project AngstI know - I know - the serious dilemmas I face in my life - but I don't know what to knit next! This weekend, I'm concentrating on finishing up my last two UFOs - the Gathering Intentions cabled sweater (finish seaming, weave in ends, do something with the collar, and block the whole thing) and the Silk Shrug (finish seaming, finish edging, weave in ends). I'm still plugging away on the cabled socks, but honestly, even though I love the way they LOOK, I'm really not loving the whole knitting on them thing. But I'll definitely keep going, and finish the first one before I make a decision on the second. I'm having a ton of trouble making the cuff large enough so that I can get it onto my foot, but not too large so that it looks ridiculous around my somewhat-small ankles. I'm giving my latest attempt a few more rounds before I try it on again.So what next? I just ordered a bunch of DK weight undyed blue-faced leicester, and plan on making this shrug from Interweave (free pattern). I'm thinking shades of green for the dye-job. And it's not for me - it was specifically requested by one of my bestest friends for those chilly New Mexico evenings.  But after that? I think part of the problem is that the next few "big" projects I've got bouncing around in my head will require some significant design input, and, frankly, I just don't have the brain-power right now. So perhaps I'll dye up some more of the dk yarn and knit a cardigan similar to this one (knit out of koigu)? I like the idea of a nice, basic, boring project to see me through the next few months. But we'll see. And yes, part of my reluctance to start any of my "big design projects" is that both of them will probably use some of my cormo stash. And, frankly, I'm not sure if I'm ready for that step yet - knitting up my cormo before I can buy more? Pass the paper bag, I think I may hyperventilate... Labels: Random 0 comments || # Sunday, November 05, 2006 Stop the World, I Want to Get OffI've been feeling recently that I'm working like crazy, and still only barely managing to stay caught up. School is insane, and finals are just around the corner - and the journal is a huge time-suck. I'm managing to have some (probably too much) 'relaxing' time, but it's definitely at the expense of future insanity. Oh well - such is life. And all things considered, my life is fantastic, so I should probably quit my whining.So onto the knitting - yesterday, Erin and Carolina and I broke out the dyes and got busy. Our attempts at handpainting were SO much better than our first attempts a few months ago ... I dyed three different colorways of sock yarn. This one is my favorite:  And in this one, I successfully dyed "tone on tone" with different shades of rosy pinks/reds...  And this is my "boy yarn" for S. He's very excited at all of the browns and greens...  And yesterday, a group of Irregulars headed on a "Stitches Field Trip." Like Carolina, I was, overall, disappointed with the vendors as I would have liked to have seen more small, independent vendors rather than so many yarn stores. However, I did find a few cute things, including the adorable "lambscape" in the bottom corner -  And I also bought a new knitting bag from this etsy seller, and I love it - the chicken is SO happy. And yes, I bought a tape measure to match, but technically the tape measure is for S since he likes chickens so much, so it's not really THAT bad, is it? Wait, don't answer that.  And I have been knitting here and there - currently I'm working on Eunny's Chuck's Cabled Socks. I've had to start these socks approximately 2 billion times before I finally got everything correct, but now I'm loving them...  And finally, in a nice segue between the knitting content and the cute pet content, here's where Cricket hung out yesterday while we all dyed yarn (well, when she wasn't trying to eat Erin's roving) -  Okay, and now to the cute animal pictures. The Great Wuss-Out of 2006 The weekend before Halloween, S and I tried to squeeze one last camping trip in before it got too cold. We set up camp, had a lovely  After a nice nap, Abby woke up and decided it was time for tummy rubs... "I'm cute! Rub my tummy!"  After another walk, we decided we'd better go ahead and cook dinner before it got dark. It was so windy that our food was literally being blown off of our plates, so we ended up sitting in the back of my car to eat. At which point we realized that it was SNOWING. With winds of 40-50 mph. So, mostly because I made grumpy noises, we bundled everything back into the car and came home, had hot chocolate, and took a nice hot bath. Halloween Thanks to the lovely folks at Trader Joe's, we got one of the biggest pumpkins I've ever carved - it was almost 2 inches thick! Luckily, we figured out what we could do with all of the extra pumpkin pieces... she also really likes squash.  And on Halloween Night, we took Abby to the doggy halloween happy hour in Old Town. She went in her bumblebee costume, and even though everyone thought she was adorable, she didn't really love the whole costume thing. In fact, she hated it - see the look of death she's giving me??  Ok - time to watch football and eat the homemade dried cherry biscotti I just made (verdict - good, but not GREAT. I'll have to keep experimenting.) Labels: Abby, Camping, Cricket, Dyeing, Random, Socks 0 comments || # Wednesday, October 18, 2006 Random Things that Make Me Happy(in no particular order!)Knitting Podcasts I've been a long-time listener of Cast-On, and am consistently impressed with the quality of this 100% free podcast. I can't imagine that any of you haven't given Brenda a listen, but just in case, please do check her out. She's consistently funny, warm, and entertaining, and her podcasting efforts just keep getting better and better - both in terms of content, and in terms of technical abilities. And a quick, personal note - it took me awhile to catch up with all of the back episodes (I am absolutely incapable of jumping into a series in the middle. I must start at the beginning and work all the way through). So when I was listening to like 6 episodes in a row on a day trip this summer, I found myself wishing that there was some way to support Brenda with $$. I'm a firm believer in "voting with your wallet," and found myself thinking that the enjoyment I was getting from each episode was at least worth $1 per episode. Unfortunately, at that time, she didn't accept donations. By the time I got to episode 25, however, she had decided to accept paypal donations - so I promptly donated my $1/episode. Obviously, each of us must make these decisions for ourselves, but I encourage everyone to seriously consider tangibly supporting those of our peers whose efforts result in a product that we value and enjoy. After all, free is NOT the same as worthless. Okay, done with my tangent. In other knitting podcast news, I finally checked out Lime and Violet. Although I'm only 2 episodes in (see above note re. my anal-retentive inability to start in the middle of a series), so far I'm really enjoying the casual banter between the two hosts. Also, I'm guessing that, like Cast-On, this podcast will continue to improve. Yummy Smelly Things This past series of Cast-On was sponsored by Dame Candle Company, so, being a gigantic sucker for all things yummy and smelly, I decided to order some. I ordered the Tarts and the little burner-thing. I got 12 different scents to try, which is good because she offers like 26 billion different scents, and I would have had no idea which to pick - and since her candles last for something like 60 hours, I didn't want to commit myself to smelling something for that long if I didn't like it. Luckily, the tarts only last 6-8 hours, so even if a scent isn't my favorite, I can still use it up. So far, all I've tried is grapefruit - wasn't my favorite, but that's probably because I much prefer flowery smells. I have high hopes for the other scents, and will DEFINITELY be ordering more tarts when I use these up. And who knows - I may actually like a scent enough to order an entire candle! I'm just about finished sewing up the Gathering Intentions/I-Cord Cables sweater. I'll still have to decide on a neckline, but otherwise, the knitting is done. I hope to finish it up this week. I'm also on the verge of begining S' Ireland Souvenir Scarf, which hopefully will go relatively quickly since I'd love to finish it in time for the cold weather.Pictures of all of this will be forthcoming as soon as I get my camera back from S - we went camping this weekend, and the camera decided to hang out in S' backpack for a little longer. In other news, I spent the majority of my "free time" on Friday ignoring all of the things on my "to-do" list, and writing up the pattern for the Ireland Cardigan. I'll hopefully be able to make a pdf file of everything this afternoon, and will be offering it for sale in the next couple of days! It's a common theme here Chez-Musing, but if I waited until I had a truly well-thought-out post, I might never update. So Random Pictures it is.Last weekend, I finally succumbed to the beautiful orchids at Trader Joe's (I love Trader Joe's. Pumpkin Beer is beyond amazing.) BUT ANYWAY, here's my new "little friend"...  Since I took this photo, the last bud has opened. It's beautiful!  Cricket has been enjoying the mild weather - we open the front door, stick on her little collar, and let her explore the great outdoors. She likes to pretend she's a fierce jungle panther.  Oh, look - knitting! I've "finished" both sleeves of the I-Cord Cables sweater, and I blocked one to make sure my swatch had mostly told the truth about the amazing growing powers of the silk-wool blend. The unblocked sleeve is in the front... and it looks like my "1.12% growth" was about right. I'm making some fairly major changes to the pattern (I know - the shock!) - basically, I'm switching the sleeves to raglans, and I'm modifying the neck. I haven't had the time to sit down and do the math for the raglan shaping yet, so I've been stopping every piece at the armpits. I've "finished" both sleeves and the front, and just cast on for the back.  And finally - Cricket helped me put together the Ikea mini-wardrobe thing that I bought to hold all of my sweaters. (Note - I have a LOT of sweaters. A LOT. I may have to rethink the size of this wardrobe.) See, Mom? I'm helping.  Labels: Gathering Intentions, Random 0 comments || # Monday, September 11, 2006 DistractionI don't have classes on Fridays, which meant that I had an entire 3-day weekend to take pictures of my now 2 (!!) finished objects. I'll give you one guess as to what I didn't do this weekend...But in my defense, I did book a reception site and finalized the Big Day (September 8, 2007 if anyone cares.) So that's a HUGE weight off of my shoulders since now I know I have tons of time to get all of the other details in place. So because I'm a terrible blogger and can't manage to take a few simple photographs, I'm going to employ the age-old distraction technique of "look, cute animals!!" Here you can see how Cricket, pursuant to her "take over the world one knitting project at a time" plan, discovered that I had thoughtfully laid out my dad's vest on the bed. Hmmmm.... she has books, and tools, and the sweater - she must be planning on working on this. That's what she thinks...  Shortly after I grabbed another project to work on in lieu of the vest, Cricket implemented phase 2, "Look so cute that it becomes impossible to disturb." Go ahead. Try to disturb the softly purring kitty. Sucker...  When I wasn't negotiating with Cricket for the release of my knitting, I joined S and Abby for a field trip... See? I have a self-timer and I know how to use it!!  And after an unscheduled trip with my roomie to Old Navy, we had Abby try on her halloween costume - those who are overly sensitive to cuteness may want to look away... 
0 comments || # Thursday, September 07, 2006 Still No FO PhotoThe Irregulars have seen my latest FO, but unfortunately I haven't had a chance for a proper photo shoot yet, so stay tuned... I know, y'all are on the edge of your seats...But LOOK! Over there! Cute cat picture! I mentioned last time that I have been in a decluttering mood lately. My first major victim was the dresser - each drawer. I was fairly brutal and filled up 2 trader joe's bags with giveaway clothes. My strategy was pretty simple... take drawer out, go through each item and toss as required, replace drawer. Yeah, I ran into a few difficulties with that last step.  In other {knitting} news, I'm slowly finishing my dad's Beara Peninsula Vest - I grafted each shoulder seam...  ... and properly fortified myself to pick up and knit the corrugated ribbing on one of the armholes. Mission accomplished - 1 armhole down, 1 to go. And then apparently there's ribbing around the neck too... note to self - buy a case of Smithwicks next time.  (Smithwicks, incidentally, has been brewed here since 1710. Apparently, those Franciscans really know their beer...)  Other news? The puppy is finally feeling better - after an entire long weekend of doing this:  Those of you who know Abby in person will understand how worried we were when she wouldn't go on walks. Luckily, she seems to be fine now, although she doesn't quite understand why we won't carry her around everywhere like we did when she was sick... We celebrated her feeling better (and my new haircut!) by having lunch at the doggy-friendly Pat Troy's in Alexandria - Abby was still on a restricted diet, so she had to have grilled chicken instead of the lamb stew. I've been such a terrible blogger lately - and the only excuse that I can offer is that sometimes life gets a little boring what with law school classes, running a law review, working at the knitting store, etc... , so you decide to use all of your spare time to plan a wedding. My goal for the week is to nail down a reception site. We've already got the church (and several possible dates), so hopefully it'll get "settled" pretty soon and I can start relaxing a little bit! But first things first... I bought the "Wedding Knotebook" - nothing like a pretty, blank notebook to make one all excited about planning!And THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all of your amazing comments and well-wishes - I am beyond thrilled, and am so excited. But you guys have to collectively promise me that Plus, this weekend we were rained out of our camping trip, and then had a sick puppy to fuss over. We've taken her to the vet and gotten her some antibiotics, but she's definitely not 100% yet, so there was LOTS of snuggling and sleeping, and boiling chicken and making rice. But enough with the excuses - I am a few ends away from a fabulous FO, and I promise actual knitting pics soon. In the meantime, here's my latest knitting "to do" list:
My goal is to finally finish off these projects so I can start a new sweater with a clean slate. Perhaps it's all of the planning S and I are doing regarding moving in together, what kind of house we eventually want to buy, etc... - I look around at all of my "stuff" and have an overwhelming urge to de-clutter. I'm trying to run with this urge as long as possible - the dresser and under the bed have already felt the wrath of the goodwill bag... my closet may very well be next! Labels: Random 0 comments || # Monday, July 24, 2006 Cookies and an Adorable BabyI'm in the final week of my summer associateship - I've had a fantastic time, but now need to lose the "summer associate 15" so that I can fit into my clothes again! And this last week is very strange - on the one hand, I'm just about done, so it's hard to stay motivated. On the other hand, I really REALLY want to get an offer, so I still need to make a good impression on my way out. Every other job I've left has been a true "I'm moving on" transition, so I've never been in this situation where even though I'm on my way out, I still need to worry about what impression I leave. Plus, there's the small stress that I'm now really banking on this (almost, but not 100%, guaranteed offer) - I'm not doing the Fall Interview Program, so if (and that's a HUGE if), I somehow don't get an offer, I'm pretty screwed.So I stressed out about all of that a bit this weekend, which means that I ignored it and did something productive - like making Spongebob Cookies.  Don't you just love the little cookie-cutter?  So while I mixed up the dough...  Abby, Cricket, and S wrestled in the living room. Ok - so maybe the wrestling was mostly S and Abby, but Cricket definitely supervised. Perhaps she was waiting for someone to tag her in? I bet she'd wield a mean folding chair...  Then while I carefully put each cookie on the baking sheet, Abby very thoughtfully helped me clean up any cookie-dough I dropped.  Then, while the cookies baked, more doggie-wrestling!!  These were SO fun to make - even though the icing (from a tube) is nasty and the eyes/mouth are also not so yummy ... luckily, there was plenty of leftover dough for lots of "non-decorated" cookies.  So then on Sunday I got to go hang out with my favorite little girl - Lindsay is the daughter of my best friends from college, and she's 9 months old. They live in So.Cal, so I don't get to see her much... she's so much bigger than when I saw her in December!  And speaking of babies - I hit the craft/fabric stores this weekend and finished my baby kimonos... First up is the "Sheep Climbs Hill" Kimono - knit in hand-dyed naturesport (superwash) with navy blue ribbons and a little sheepie button...   And here we have "Rubber Duckie Kimono" - knit in Mission Falls 1824 Cotton (the old stuff - from stash) -   And finally - here's a sneak peak at the project I just started - any guesses?  Labels: Baby Gifts, Dad's Vest, Random 0 comments || # Thursday, June 22, 2006 Drive-By UpdatingI haven't been home long enough to take pictures, so I apologize in advance for the craptastic boringness of this post.ANYWAY - here's what's been going on in my life - the summer job is fantastic, and thanks to the crazy amount of food-related events I attend, I haven't fed myself at home in months. I've been knitting slowly but surely - I finished the first sleeve of Elizabeth I, started a Moderne Baby Blanket out of my hand-dyed, and am just about finished with another pair of socks. So I think for the time being, I'll concentrate on finishing the Moderne Baby Blanket, Elizabeth I, and Lilies of the Valley. I really want to "clean my knitting slate" before I dive into a bunch of new projects. I also need to set aside some serious time for finishing - I've got a couple of pairs of socks and the Debbie Bliss Silk Shrug in dire need of some finishing touches. Perhaps next weekend... THIS weekend, I'm going camping with S, Abby the 3-legged-wonder-dog, and my parents. I'm really excited, but am not sure about how much knitting time I'll actually get... and I'm hoping very much for no thunderstorms. I feel no overwhelming need to test the waterproofing on our new tent. Ummm ... and what the $&#^ was up with the pathetic US soccer effort this morning? True, the penalty kick was crap, but there is NO excuse for the lethargy with which the US jogged through the first half. Any bets on how soon Arenas gets fired? Basically, you tell them an artist or song that you like, and they'll create an entire "radio station" based on things that they think you'll like. It's totally free, and you can tell them when you don't like something. I think I just set a world record for most non-valley-girl-uses of the word "like" in one paragraph. It's a talent. Oh, and I did manage to resist the birthday koigu last night - but here's the question. Although my birthday was yesterday, since I didn't buy any yarn yesterday, can I buy "belated birthday fleece artist" when it comes into the shop later this week? Labels: Random 0 comments || # Monday, June 12, 2006 Random Updates**random weekend update**I love where I work - I spent this past weekend thoroughly enjoying an all-expenses paid weekend at this resort with all of my fellow summer associates and a good 'selection' of partners and associates. It was AMAZING. On Saturday, our only full day there, I woke up early, got breakfast, got my hour-long massage at 9, and was on the beach by 10:15, lounging under the umbrella. I didn't start the pina coladas until noon, but then I kept them coming until it was time to get ready for dinner. FABULOUS. I finished a sock, worked on Elizabeth, and read hundreds of pages of a really great book. I'm not sure what I was expecting since I've never really been on a full-scale work-retreat before, but I had a great time. When I got back home on Sunday afternoon, S and I took the wonder-dog to a local park for a mile hike, and I came home with every intention of doing something productive. Instead, I took a nice, long nap snuggled up with S and the dog. We finally dragged ourselves out of bed and took another long puppy-walk (seeing a pattern here?), grabbed some dinner, and came home to watch a movie. **random product endorsment (now with 100% more random kitty stories!)** I recently bought one of these temporary screen doors, and it came last week. It really is super easy to install - you just twist the tension-rod at the top, wedge it in, and velcro it to the frame at the sides. It's not perfect, but it keeps most of the bugs out. And perhaps I'm being old-fashioned, but I love the idea of having the door open... it's great ventillation, but more importantly - it's FRIENDLY. So often, I feel like I'm completely disconnected from my community - I barely know my neighbors since the courtyard is always filled with closed doors and drawn blinds. Maybe my new screen door won't let me get to know my neighbors any better, but at least I'll be able to wave when they pass my door! The real impetus for the screen-door purchase was to allow Cricket to play outside (outfitted in her updated tags and sexy green collar). There are a lot of dogs in my apartment complex, and the owners allow them to play off-leash sometimes (totally not a problem with me - they really are sweeties, and the owners are out supervising). But since they are off-leash, and many are quite a bit bigger than Abby (think full-grown black labs!), I'm way too nervous to just let Cricket out and shut the door behind her. While she is still fully-clawed, she's an indoor kitty, and I'm afraid she wouldn't stand much of a chance against 4-5 full-grown big dogs, even if they aren't really trying to hurt her. So I always want her to know that she can run inside when she gets freaked. Thanks to the screen door, the bugs can't take advantage of the situation... So last night, screen in place and collar on, I let Cricket out to roam the courtyard playing "jungle panther." After about an hour, I decided to bring her back in, so I went outside, found her at the bottom of the hill, and picked her up. She began screaming, hissing, and generally acting as if I was actively beating her with something large and painful... but she didn't struggle at all. By the time I got her into the house, I was almost in tears from laughing so hard - S had come running to the door, thinking that Cricket was in terrible pain or something, and here she was, being casually held in one of my hands. What a little diva! **random dyeing update** As Chaos and Company pointed out, I can't exactly dye acrylic. D'oh! Talk about one of those moments when you know something, forget that you know it, and then have an "oh crap" realization when someone points it out to you. But no biggie - I have plenty of yarn to start playing with, my books came, and I'm assembling my shopping list. I'm going to throw a bit of the merino/acrylic into a pot to see what happens - maybe it'll do something unexpected but cool, as opposed to unexpected and "straight to the trash." I think my first dye projects will be (1) striping sock yarn with the nature-spun, (2) baby blanket (or animal blanket) yarn with some light silver jaeger merino that I bought ages ago on closeout. I had thought that I could use it to make felted things, but (of course) it's superwash. So I think I'll experiment with all sorts of different colors. But that should tide me over until Knitpicks gets more of its sock yarn in stock... **random knitting update** Right. Here's the current knitting plan: In Progress
I'll probably also do something Mason-Dixon-blanket inspired with my first attempts at dyeing. I used size 0 needles. But I LOVED these socks, and have gotten more compliments on these than on any other socks I've ever knit. The pattern was complicated enough to keep me occupied, but easy enough to memorize. And now for some non-knitting adventures - Last weekend, we treked over to the parents' house for some Memorial Day festivities. Little did we know how exciting it would be - This little guy must have fallen out of his nest. You can't tell from the picture, but he's only about 6 inches off of the ground. My parents have a cat, and Abby was over, so we had to do something!  So S got a napkin and gently pried him off of his tree...  He wasn't entirely sure he liked this huge, feather-less wierd bird, but he was pretty calm...  And then we got out The Ladder... this tree is TALL. I don't know where the nest was, but we wanted to get him up into the crook of the tree so there would be somewhere for him to hang out until he got big enough to fly. S, however, is not so good with heights. So apparently that was my cue...  Here you go, little buddy!  We all felt pretty happy about that, and hope that he has done well in his temporary little perch. He was pretty big, so hopefully he was really close to being big enough to fly... But Abby was NOT amused. She could not understand how we could be such terrible hunters...  Once all of the animal rescue excitement was over, we got down to "work" - making homemade ice cream.  MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.  K - I should go get my knitting organized - my firm is sending me to New York for the day tomorrow to do some research, and we all know what that means.... that's right - 3 hours of knitting time EACH WAY on the train tomorrow. I may manage to finish Lily of the Valley, and maybe some more socks.... 0 comments || # |
