The Proposal

It all started Friday morning. My roommates had gone flying with Chris and texted me about how one of their planes broke and they almost landed in a field and how scary it was. I chalked it down for another cool story and went to work a double shift for the day. 
When I got off Chris picked me up and we decided we wanted to watch a movie for the night. We arrived at Red Box and he realized that his gas light was on. After frantically searching for his wallet to pay for gas he told me that they had done a zero gravity drop while flying and his wallet had been by his feet and had probably flown behind him (it was an elaborate story & I ate it all up). So, we made our way to the Logan Airport. 
We searched the plane they ended up taking after the first one broke and with no avail. There was sadly no wallet in there. We the proceeded to look inside of the airport lost and found for awhile (Chris has a tendency to lose his wallet just as much as I lose my phone so this was honestly nothing out of the ordinary). After failing to see his wallet in the lost and found it dawned on him that it could be in the broken plane. So, we went back out into the hangar.
When we reached the plane he instructed me to look in the front and he would look in the back. So I hopped into the plan and immediately saw his wallet & then I saw the little white box right next to it and my heart skipped a beat. I got sooo excited as I pulled the box out and opened it smiling the whole time. Now,  you can guess what I found......


A ring?




No, you're wrong and probably just as disappointed as I was. It was chocolate. I tried to act excited because well every girl loves chocolate but, every girl loves a proposal to the man she loves more. So, her urged me to eat the chocolate and under it was a paper that said look behind you, and now, the rest is history. Although things did not go all the way as he had planned it was in my eyes the perfect proposal and I could not be spending my life with a better man. He also did an amazing job designing the ring by himself and it is beautiful and more than I could ever ask for.

I SAID YES!

I am now an engaged woman to my handsome fiancée (first time I have ever typed that word) Christopher Givens. It was a long awaited but very pleasant surprise. I could not have wished for a better guy and I am soo excited to start our journey together!! For  now, a picture of the ring. All I wanted, besides him of course, was a canary diamond I got that and so much more he went above and beyond anything I expected.

& then it snowed

These past few days, until last night, have been beautiful in Logan! It has been in the 50's and sunny and so so warm. Warm enough and beautiful enough that Lori, Nat, Trent, and I jumped into our shorts and ran outside.

That was until last night when mother nature decided spring was not yet around the corner and dumped many inches of snow on this lovely land. The forecast now looks like this.

& let me just tell you Iphone weather app has not lied to me yet.

Valentines Day was so great! Although I had school from 9-5 it was all worth it. 

I got home and my bed was made and on it was a rose with a lover letter (typed, very chrisish thing to do), and a coupon book that he made himself. It is so thoughtful and has cute little things like doing all my laundry, and a trip to frozen yogurt. It was the perfect gift!

He then picked me up and we went to Goucho Grill, a Brazilian restaurant that is amazing! 

Here is how it went down. This little stick devise shown above is what gets you food. if its green every few minutes waiters stop by and chop off different types of meat from this big skewer and it is amazing!

Then I got this pretty rose on the table as well.

We were served sparkling smoking guava juice that was so very delicious

& then to top it off this amazing cheese cake with chocolate covered strawberries. My favorite part!!

I love Valentines Day!!!

First of all I would like to shout out to the amazing Chelsea Dean. She is not one of those single ladies that despises Valentines Day she loves it, just like me!!

Remember way back when in Elementary school when you would give out Valentines to all of your class mates and decorate cookies and secretly hope that the boy or girl you had a crush on would give you a Valentine. Those were the days.

The older you get Valentines day turns into this whole amazing day but...only if you have a boyfriend. I would like to argue that it's not. My favorite parts are making Valentines for everyone I love and telling them how great they are, eating candy hearts that say nice things to you, and lastly thinking up great ways to let people know they are loved. Oh, and lets not forget the cool red & pink socks you can wear all day long!

Now, I have reached a dilemma. What great Valentines day ideas do you have to tell my family, Christopher, & roommates happy Valentines day? What are your favorite things people have done?

Box Seats

Last night I decided to leave Antarctica (a.k.a Logan) to go somewhere a few degrees warmer...Salt Lake City.

Chris's accountant is pretty baller, also just a jovial great guy,  and has box seat tickets to the Jazz Games. So he offered Chris, his manager, most of their office, and their wifeypoos and girlyfriendpoos an option to go chill with him in his box seats. Any normal person would probably not turn this down, even if the Jazz isn't your team really so... we didn't. 

Let's just talk about how cool box seats are, and also how weird.

Cool Part: We got a meal! We had pork chops, salad, rolls, different varieties of pie, veggies...

Weird Part: and also sweet potatoes with pears. Really just an odd combo

Cool Part: All of it was free!

Other Cool Part: At half time they trade dinner out for half time snacks. You know the usual; popcorn, nachos, etcc... and still free! It's just spectacular.

Weird Part: As your watching the game from the box seats there are people right under you who paid twenty dollars for their seats and have to listen to you eating & conversing. While the box seats cost who knows how much and are even higher up. 

Sadly, the Jazz lost. I would like to repeat I am not a die hard Jazz fan but, I would choose them over Texas. 

All in all it was a blast hanging out with everyone and having my first experience at box seats during an NBA game.

On a happier winning note...THE AGGIES BEAT THE WOLF PACK!! Great job guys. I am a bit nostalgic I did not get to see our Aggies kick some booty and hear our amazing crowd. Lucky there is ESPN & Youtube for moments like this.... I honestly am contemplating being one of those old people that comes back with tickets to the Aggie games!

Girls+ Dinner=Good Conversation

After a few weeks of planning some of the girls in the Speech Communications Department decided to have a nice girls night out and have dinner. We picked Cafe Sabor. A great local restaurant with excellent food. It was such a blast just having girl talk (obviously we are good at this its our major & the poor waiter gave us the mean eye because we had stayed after paying to talk for so long), munching on chips and salsa, and laughing.

After dancing the night away our good friend Jeff invited all of us to play sardines (hide and go seek in reverse, one person hides all the people look) at a store called, The Book Table. It was owned by his friends dad, it was a blast. The quickest explanation:
dark scary old book store+sardines with the lights out late at night+big scary tunnel where people jump out and scare you= nightmares.

This week is jam packed full of fun after working many hours last week I am off until the weekend, so my schedule goes as follows:
Tomorrow-----> GIRLS NIGHT! Going out with some great Speech Comm friends to Cafe Sabor. yummy
Wednesday----> Box Seats @ the Jazz game with Christopher! I'm currently not a Jazz fan (sorry you hard core lovers out there) but maybe this game and experience will change my mind, even just a little.
Thursday------> The first Service Week meeting & movie in the TSC

It's going to be one busy week! I cannot wait. What are your plans?

My Best Friends Wedding

I decided since I'm currently lacking in the Lori and Christopher area that I would take some me time and paint my nails and watch, My Best Friends Wedding.

Flashback to my number one movie crush back in the days. He's just so suave and sexy.

I just how much I love this movie its hilarious, a love story, and has some awesome actors. LOVE IT! Thank goodness for movies. Whats your favorite oldish but good movie?

AND

I got tipped for seating a person at work. Pretty good night if I do say so myself.

The day to top all days....

Horrible days that is!
Let me just tell you how today went down.
I woke up early and went to go put my favorite pair of jeans on.
That sounds great right, well it was until I discovered I had a huge hole in my butt. Not so great!! I don't even have a funny embarrassing story to tell as to why. It just appeared poof out of no where.
I then proceeded to go through at least 10 outfits, not being content with any of them.
While changing I missed the bus.
Once I found an okay outfit that I could live with I went to put some earrings on that would make it a bit more bearable.
Hi only one earring in a pair, thats just great. Wearing one earing could be a new style, right?

Once I finally get to school I realize that I forgot my purse and student ID at home. I can't donate blood now which sucks cause Chris and I had a pretty good bet if I donated blood, he won because I was exempt.

Chris wouldn't kiss me because I was grumpy (he thought he was helping by being fun, what a sweet guy)

I get to work and our manager thinks we are lying because this table that was full of complaints lied to get a free appetizer. I will pay for your appetizer if your going to lie and get us in trouble, dude. Thankfully there are cameras to document.

&to top if off my two best friends Lori & Christopher (also bf, he plays dual rolls) left today for a long weekend. Hello loneliness !

The good news, its almost tomorrow & I've got Harry Potter movies to keep me company. 

That Time

I needed eggs. So I of course hopped into Christopher's car to head to the grocery store, and this song came on the Ipod (in all honesty I chuckled a little. I love this music & was surprised he had it)
Anyways.... I started to sing a long to good Ol' Regina and actually listened to the words, as I did I started remembering all the "that times."



These were the top 5 times that I thought of as I sang (dating from birth to now)
1. Remember that time I wet my swimsuit diaper when I was two and was potty trained from that day forward, lucky mom and dad.
2. Remember that time when I would only watch 101 Dalmations, & would sneak out of my room to watch it all night long.
3. Remember that time I got my Ugg boots (this Christmas) and never took them off not even when I went to bed.
4. Remember that time when all I would eat was spinach and chicken for every meal.
5. Remember that time when search and rescue had to come get us from the top of a hill because I coincidently fell right when they said: "wave your arms if your in trouble."

I had an idea...

That one day I would visit the east coast....
AND I DID!

My stud of a man...other wise known as Christopher, flew me down to Virginia to see his family. While I was there I got to see how beautiful Virginia is, got to know his amazing family,  and discover the treasure trove of history on the east coast.


While I was in Lynchburg I was able to see all of the old architecture and fell in love with all of the houses there. The variety of houses and how pretty they were blew my mind. I will rep Vegas until the day I die but, lets be honest every single house looks almost exactly the same.

Lynchburg is so full of history. I love diseases, not getting them or anything nasty like that just the problem solving behind how they happened, how they spread, and how they are stopped. (a.k.a Epidemiology--> definition can be found on good ol' Webster) In Lynchburg they have an old cemetery in with graves from the Civil War. Within that Cemetery they also had what was called the pest house which is where one of the first doctors practiced the idea of having a "clean work station." His main focus was on quarantining the soldiers who were stricken with small pox. Hi, cool guy you rock!

Then came Appomattox...In case you were wondering because well, I had no clue to be honest, Appomattox is where the treaty was signed to end the Civil War. This was in the parlor of the McLean house which we got to go into, also really cool. Then it was off to a hiking trip. We decided we wanted to conquer the highest peak in Virginia with Chris's whole family and his sisters friends, but during the first try the weather decided that was not going to happen. So we tried again the day Chris and I had to fly back and did it! 

Then came Washington. Not the state Washington although thats cool and all but the capital, yep you heard it Washington DC. It was pretty much sweet. We saw the Capital, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Smithsonian Botanical Museum,The White House, the DC Temple and the Spy Museum. Although the traffic in DC is insane seeing all these cool places was worth it. Chris may disagree since he was the driver. The best part was seeing the DC temple its now on my list of top three favorite temples. I also loved the Lincoln Memorial, and some delicious Peruvian food.

Then last but not least I got to eat at the T-Room. Its famous they say and you can find it on the TV show Diners, Drive-in, and Dives. Which I love! When Chris first told me I would be eating a hamburger with an egg and relish and cheese on it I was like...hmm not happening! I held to that until we got there and the lady with 4 teeth convinced me that it would change my life...and it did. The Cheesey Western (its name) was very delicious and this tiny restaurant with super friendly people was one of my favorite parts.

The other best part was The Givens family book store and toy store. If you know me and my reading habits you would know that I was in heaven. It was such an awesome store with the coolest decorations and the most amazing people working there.

I had a blast on the east coast and although I missed home and family I loved every second of it.
