Kaleb 2 Months
Our baby boy turned 2 months old today! A quick rundown in the life of Kaleb:
Loves:
Sleeping (with or on mommy) - He is a great night sleeper (10:30 - 8am nurses 1X around 5:30am) Not a great napper but I'm not going to complain!
Eating ( weighs approx 14 lbs!) - still not a great nurser. He is pretty lazy at the breast and takes in a ton of air usually leading to gassy evenings :(
Smiling - this kid smiles at EVERYTHING! He is a natural charmer!
Cooing - He loves to talk and coo. He is very vocal.
Being held - If he is being held you can guarantee he is happy!
Bath Time - probably his most favorite thing ever. Bath time can cure anything. He is all smiles and coos and could sit in the tub for hours.
Tummy Time - he will tolerate tummy time for 10-15 minutes without fuss. He has great head control and enjoys looking around as long as someine is there interacting with him.
Being worn - He LOVES hanging out in the moby wrap or sling. Instant happiness :)
We have been having some issues with gas and fussiness at night. I thought it was due to his weak suck and poor latch. I think these are contributors but I also figured out that Kaleb has a dairy sensitivity. I cut cows milk out of my diet when he was 3 weeks old and it has gotten better. If I eat dairy (on purpose or by accident) Kaleb has tummy issues and fusses in the evening. He usually only fusses for 30min-1 hour but it is so painful and he passes gas/burps. Not worth eating dairy!!

Kaleb - 6 weeks
12 lbs and lots of smiles. This boy is a dream!
Likes: mommy, mommy's milk, sleeping, the moby wrap, smiling, paci, swing/bouncer, baths.
dislikes: gas, being out down, dirty diapers, cold hands.
Kaleb is a great baby. He is a good eater and generally very easy going. He has a fussy period from 9pm-10pm but is usually calm and ready for bed around 11:30 and usually sleeps until 6:30 wakes to eat and is back down until 8:30-9. He loves to coo and smile even enjoys tummy time. I'm counting my blessings and enjoying the moment because we all know how fast things can change!

The past few weeks...
A whirlwind... It has been a crazy few weeks. We are slowly adjusting to our new normal. The cold weather keeps us cooped up so we've had our fair share of pajama days. Here are a few pics :)

Kaleb's Bris
We celebrated Kaleb's bris on Sunday January 16, 2011. Poppy & Jaye, Uncle Ari, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Willie and Bubbe were all present as Kaleb for the bris ceremony. Rabbi Henesch performed a beautiful ceremony that (much to my surprise) did not seem to be very painful for Kaleb. The ceremony consisted of many prayers and readings, the rabbi explained that the bris signifies the sons' birth into the family. Each family member present was asked to hold Kaleb as the Rabbi prayed. Greg and I read a beautiful passage about the life of a son. The rabbi included Kinley in the ceremony as well. It was a very moving and emotional ceremony. I am thankful that our family was able to be there to celebrate and am thankful that the bris was exactly the opposite of what I expected :)
