I LOVE MY FAMILY

The story begins..

One day (this happened last week), I was at work and got a text message.

Lil' Sis: Von, we bought a new TV!!!!!!

Me: *no reply* (because I was busy working)

** Background: The reason why it's an exciting event that we get a new TV is because we have been using the old CRT TV (21 inches) for many many years now and it is slowly dying.

And it died that day!

After work, my dad came to pick me up with his bike. It was raining so I was wearing one of my dads rain coat that was extremely big for me (I get protected from the rain more..haha). When I reached home, and got down from the bike, my mum was already waiting at the gate jumping up and down!

Mummy: *while jumping up and down* Von, we got new TV!!!

I was excited to see this new TV that I didn't even take off the raincoat. I stepped into the house and started laughing and laughing till my tears rolled down. Everyone was laughing so hard!

Yup, the new Tv is 14inches! hahahahaha!!!! I love my family for their sense of humor! They're awesome!!!!

The next day, dad bought a new TV! and it's not a CRT neither is it 14 inches. hahahaha!

Stress-free??

Hello!!

Wow..it has been 2 weeks since I disappeared from my blog! I have been having lots of off days for the past 2 weeks. 5 days in 2 weeks (that's a lot looking that I am only entitled to 1 day off a week)Well, the reason being, we (managers, supervisors) are told to clear our annual leave by this month due to several reasons. Plus, work has been good so far after all the changes that has been made. Praise the Lord!!!! :D

During my off day, I decided to spend my time with my lil' sis all the way in her uni. It was fun as I got to experience what my lil' sis does on a daily basis (she's a busy bee), spend time with her and her friends. Plus, I managed to plan a surprise birthday with the help of her friends (I am so happy to know that she has a bunch of awesome friends who were very warm and welcoming to me). She was pleasantly surprised and was bashed later on with eggs, flour and sugar to add to the sweetness. haha! I got bashed too!

The result:

TADA!! I LOVE YOU!!

Hence, the title of my post 'Stress-free??' My answer to that, YUP!! Everything is slowly falling into place :)

Rest

REST.

This word has been a word I wait for every week. Working 9 days straight with no rest really sucked all my energy away. Finally had 2 days off (yesterday and today). What a relieve. What a joy.

My status on Facebook :

' It's amazing how when one get's some needed rest, you start dancing in the car by yourself! Who cares if you look like a crazy person from outside the window!'

On my way home from servicing my car, it was raining cats and dogs. I switched on my radio to 95.8 Fly.FM and Party Rock Anthem ft. Lauren Bennett, GoonRock was playing! ( I just Youtube-ed to find out who sang this song. I don't normally know who sing's what song..haha). This song has been playing on the radio for quite some time now. But today, it got to me. I started dancing in the car! I didn't care if anyone was looking what I was doing. I guess this two days of rest really took my stress away.I felt so happy and light. I feel good!

Change

Change happens all the time, whether you like it or not. It is how you embrace the change and move on from there. Today or more like yesterday, I got news from work that there is some changes in the management. It was shocking as I did not expect anything like that to happen anytime soon. I do not know how it is going to turn out, hopefully for the best of everyone.

Like I always like to say,

Everything happens for a reason. Do you believe that? Well, I do. :)

God's in control, so what's there to worry.

I am not saying that i do not worry at all. If you know me, I'm the type of person who actually worries a lot because I over think about things most of the time. However, I am TRYING not to and just trust God. He knows best.

So many things have change over the years. I feel like I am changing too (physically, mentally, spiritually). Oh well, embrace it!

Today was a good day at work. Praise the Lord for that! It's fasting month for the Muslims hence the crowd was lesser today. This is the first time on a Monday morning I'm experiencing this. I guess this whole month is going to be like this :). After 2 months of constant busyness, running up and down, doing extra hours, etc, I can finally work without feeling like I have no time for anything else.

Why is it when I want to do something else after work, I have to stay back and do extra hours. But when I have nothing on my mind to do, I get the time. Sometimes, it can be disappointing and frustrating but I am still grateful that I get to relax for once. Thank you God for giving me rest.

I think something is wrong with my phone.. hmmmmm....

Challenging

This whole week has been realllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy challenging for me. I've been stretched more than I knew I could be. Come to think of it, this year has been challenging and is presently challenging as well. Now the word 'challenging' is starting to sound weird after saying it many times,haha!

I would love to write down all that has happened this week, but even doing so will make me exhausted. Feels like I can write a whole book just based on this week. The book can be titled ' The week' or '1 week' or whatever lah.. haha.. I'm starting to crap now.

Above all, I thank God that He is always watching over me. <3

I thank God I have a great top management to work with. They are ever so helpful and caring.

I thank God I have partners at work that are considerate.

I thank God for my supporting family.

I thank God for love.

I normally smile most of the time. My lil' sis even says i'm smiling when i'm sleeping ( I don't think so..haha)

BUT

I realize I have not been smiling as much as I used to ( have you ever felt that way? It totally sucks) especially after I started this new job of mine (don't get me wrong, its fun working where i'm working). Maybe because i'm trying to cope and adjust myself to all these new things at work and it gets stressful sometimes because of the responsibility plus I am physically exhausted as I work extra hours at times. And being an outsider who just joined, not many are warm towards you. It's getting much better now. Thank God.

Then when my lil' sis came back from her university 2 weeks back for a few days, I finally started smiling and I felt okay. Was so good to spend some time with her (missing her at this very moment). Then when she went back, my smile kinda disappeared again without me realizing until a friend told me to smile more cause I don't smile as much these days like I usually do.

BUT

Ever since I woke up today, I have been smiling and it feels good to be smiling again.. :)))

Soft spot

Somewhere inside your heart, you have a

soft spot

for something..

..could be an animal..

..could be food..

..could be cars..

..could be money..

..could be a person..

and because of that soft spot, sometimes you would do anything..

An example, my mom has a soft spot for animals, any kind of animals. She has the tendency to play with stray dogs, cats, chickens, etc. She's not even afraid that the dog might just bite her (some stray dogs might not be too friendly). I use to have 3 dogs at home; Bruno, Milo and Cino. Unfortunately, Bruno and Milo died (You can read all about them in one of my post dedicated just for my dogs).I have 2 dogs now, Cino and Poncho. My mom still cries when she thinks of Bruno and Milo, her soft spot. She was even willing to chase a cobra that was hanging on our gate few years back just so that Bruno will not get bitten accidentally. What is she got bitten instead??

JUNE AND JULY UPDATE

TADA!! I'm back!! :)

It has been 2 months plus I've not blogged. Finally found some time to come here and jot down what has happened.

Catching up on my previous post in April on 'My Joblessness' . I've got a job now! and I have been working for exactly 2 months and 6 days! It has been really physically and mentally challenging but on the brighter side, it's fun as i get to meet a lot of people and its different everyday. I have moved on from events to F&B (Food and Beverage). It's a whole lot of a different kind of stress that you go through everyday. I may or may not reveal what company I am working in ( should I? or should I not? I most probably would not..haha). Well, you'll definitely hear more of my new job later on.

Let's see what else has happened..

JUNE

1) FATHER'S DAY!! I <3 my daddy more than words can say!! He is an example of the word 'sacrifice'. He gives us more than what he gets. He never expects anything in return. He would go all the way just to help us. He loves us wholeheartedly. He is an example of a man whom I would want to marry someday.He is definitely a friend and a joker to us. Plus, he's cool! :D I love him to bits! Dear Daddy, thank you so much for loving us so much! Words can never describe how much I love you!! Blessed Fathers Day Daddy!

JULY

1) UNCLE PETER'S WEDDING!! - Uncle Peter, an uncle that I knew from a church every since I moved to K.L when I was 8 years old. He finally found the love of his life and got married this July! He's 49 years old this year. True love will surely come if you wait <3

3) LIL SIS DANCE PERFORMANCE!! -my lil' sis joined a Bhangra dance team in her University. A really good team of dancers I must say! Few days back, the team was invited to perform in another University for an Indian Cultural Night and they were awesome!! My dad, mom and I got the chance to get the tickets to go for that Indian Cultural Night just to watch her dance. We were sitting second row from the front cheering for the team! I am so proud of my lil' sis!!

This post kinda makes my June and July seem like I had nothing much going on. But if you count in the 6-days-a-week job and church activities, it's enough to give you sleep deprivation. I need sleep..really do.

Weird Dream

After waking up from my sleep, I can't help but think of what I just dreamt off.

I dreamed I bought a car that looked like a Volkswagen Beetle mixed with a Mini Cooper. Two cars I love!! My dream cars actually. And I dreamt of both as one car!

The weirdest part was, it only cost me RM 15 or RM 20. I can't quite remember the actual price but it was too cheap to be true!! And the interior of the car was made of canvas, the exterior I can't remember. It even had a compartment at the back of the front seat that looked something like a box made of canvas. Surprisingly, I could drive it around and it didn't fall apart!!

So weird! hahaha.. Of course, it's just a dream..

Of Weekend and Fast5!

First time in a long time, I felt so tired!! The last time I felt this way was when I was still working.

I had a good, fun & productive weekend & Monday.

My Saturday & Sunday

- On worship duty for Saturday (3pm-7pm), Sunday (7am-1pm), Monday (7.30am - 11.15am). So blessed!!

- Had Acts Meet ( The Couz Prayer and worship team meeting ) on Sunday (2pm -4pm). Another wonderful time sharing and praising God!!

- Saturday night spent my time with my lil' sis and grand aunt.

- Sunday from 4pm - 12pm spent time with my family.

- Monday after I got home, had lunch, fell asleep for a lil' while, watched Notebook!, watched a lil' bit of Sucker Punch (I kinda got bored watching it), had dinner (Amama made masala thosai!), had second dinner at a Mamak nearby with bro and sis, watched Fast5 with bro and sis. Parents, Amama and grand aunty watched Thor instead.

Alright and now for my simple review on FAST5!

One word. Woahh!! This movie is GOOD!! Remember I said Thor might be the movie of the year? Maybe I should rephrase my words. Thor might be the Fictional movie of the year because Fast5 might be the movie of the year. Well, I can't be sure of this as there are more movies to come and might be better than this. But for now, that's my opinion. :)

Fast5 was full of action! The cars are beautiful and sexy! The girls are beautiful! The guys are strong! The scenes are WOAHH!! I don't think it is possible for someone to fall asleep watching this movie.

Oh and guess what?? If you read my previous post on Thor, I mentioned Chris Hemsworth's wife, Elsa Pataky. She appeared in Fast5!! What are the odds!! I was so excited! hahahaha!! It's so funny because I have never heard of Elsa Pataky until I googled Chris Hemsworth and found out that he has a gorgeous wife named Elsa Pataky.

Anyways, do watch Fast5 if you are thinking of what movie to watch!

Off to have my dinner! My stomache is crying for food now!

Have you ever tossed and turned all over your bed?

That has been happening to me the past few days! or week!

I want to be able to just sleep when I should be sleeping and wake up when I should be waking up.

On the Bright Side

Despite my joblessness and some boredom-strikes-moments, I realized within the past 2 months, I have done several things I could not do while I was working.

1) Sleep - but I am over doing it now ( No good Yvonne,No good!!)

2) Meet up and spend time with my friends!

3) Cook - although I have not cooked much yet, but well, need to start somewhere right? hehe

4) Exercise - I am trying too!!! However, there are days that I 'forget' to. :P

5) Go where ever I want to without worrying I have something else to do.

6) Visit relatives

7) Play with a baby 5 days a week!

8) Watch Tv - come to think of it, I hardly watch any Tv cause I'm glued on the chair in front of my laptop!

9) Watched Glee Season 1!!!

10) Watch movies! Never got the chance to really watch movies when I was working!

11) Cut my hair twice in just 2 days! Serious! No joke about that!

11) Serve more in church! The best thing ever!!

Well, Thank You Lord for giving me so much rest!!

JOB-LESS-NESS

Well, it's very obvious what I am going to talk about now. My Joblessness.

It's almost 2 months now, and I have not gotten a job yet. The whole thing is actually my fault to begin with. Part of the reasons as to why I am still jobless:

1) I wanted to take some time off after resigning from my previous job, hence not really looking for a job.

2) When I finally want to apply for a job, I have no idea as to what job I am interested in doing.

3) When I do actually apply for a job, it's just for the sake of " Well, I better just try applying for this job and see how it goes"

4) After going for a couple of interviews, there's only 1 job that I am actually interested in and I am still to get a call from them.

5) I need a job, or at least a part time job now to sustain me (got my car to pay for and ptptn loan). Didn't realize how hard it is to actually even find for a part time job.

I am finally feeling the pressure and urgency to have a job! I need to become useful and productive again! God help me!!

Okay, I better stop ranting now.

FAR TOO LONGGGGGGG

Hi people!!!!

I've been away from my blog for so longggg!!! Been so busy with work. Work practically consumed my life! Now i know how it feels like to be a workaholic without even wanting to be one..*sigh*

Anyways, i'm not going to rant about work. Despite working like a workaholic, i have learned so much in just a matter of 6 months. From now on, i see events in a whole different angle. People (mostly spectators or participants or guests) attending events think events is all about FUN FUN FUN. But behind all that FUN, is hard work, sleepless nights, stress, etc. This experience of working in an events management company was (currently unemployed) a learning curve for me and i thank God for that.

Now is the time for me to move on! Move on to what? I have no idea or clue as to what is to come in the 'work' part of my life but i am looking forward to it! :)

2011 will be the Next Level year for me in every aspect of my life! Is it for you?
