Say cheese!

About a month ago we had some professional pictures taken at a Japanese Garden in San Antonio.  Jack was pretty grumpy and was not fond of the photographer at all.  We walked away from the session expecting to not have many good pictures to choose from.  Somehow, we ended up with several good ones so we were very pleased!

Time flies when you're having fun!

It's definitely been a while since we last updated!  Life has been so incredibly busy for us- work, traveling, Thanksgiving, Jack's first birthday party and recovering from being sick.  But we have so much to be thankful for!

Over the past couple of months, our precious baby has become quite a little boy!  He loves being outside, he picks up just about everything he sees, he loves to play and he is crawling all over the place.  Here are a few pictures to sum up some of the recent milestones and events!

Then the next thing we knew, every morning Jack likes to pull all of the dvds out and pull the volume button off the sound system. Uh-oh! Someone's been caught red handed!

OCTOBER: We didn't attempt the trick or treating this year- but we did dress up Jack and go out to eat somewhere fun for Halloween. Then we walked down our street and looked at all of the fun decorations and lights!

 

Jack is quite curious about the playground. I wouldn't say he likes it, but he tries it out at least.

 

NOVEMBER: Jack and I went with my family to the Mavs game and had the privilege of watching the game from a VIP suite. Thanks Uncle Took for inviting us! Jack danced to all of the opening songs and loved all of the noises. His head was on a swivel the entire time!

 

Nick's family came to visit us for Thanksgiving.  We had a fun time with them and were sad to see them go.  Seeing them is a reminder to us of how much we enjoy being around them and miss them.  There is always a lot of laughing!  This was our first Thanksgiving to host at our house so we had our hands full with cooking, cleaning and eating.  I do have to say it was pretty much a success!  We ate a lot and enjoyed showing Nick's family around San Antonio!

The weekend before Thanksgiving, we took Nick's dad with us to the Dallas Arboretum [he had come in early for the Cowboys vs Browns football game]. We had to get some pictures of Jack with the Pumpkins!

 

The day after Thanksgiving was Jack's first birthday!  How incredibly fast the past year has gone by and we feel blessed everyday to have been given such a wonderful gift to be parents to Jack.  He is such a funny little boy who has developed quite the personality.  He loves giving hugs and kisses and also loves to wave and say "hi"!  Can't get more precious than that! 

 

We had a birthday party for him at our house, Friday, and were blessed to have both families able to come.  Of course it was a western themed party [to celebrate our new life in Texas] and even though Jack was a bit under the weather, he was quite the trooper!  Jack's cousin, Will, was a huge help when it came time to open presents.  Jack was by far more interested in paper and bows.

So in a nutshell- Jack's been a busy boy, and we have been busy trying to keep up with him!  It's amazing how fast they grow up!

Fall Fun

We can't believe the Fall season has already arrived!  Even though our weather has not quite reached the perfect Fall temperatures outside, we are getting excited about what this season has in store for our family.  We look forward to doing more activities outside with Jack like taking him to the park and playground.  Here's Jack's first trip to the neighborhood playground on one of our not-so hot days.  He really enjoyed the swing [even though it may not seem like it from the look on his face].

 

Fall season also brings one of our favorite family activities: FOOTBALL!  There's nothing better than lying around the house on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon watching football together.  Jack loves dancing to the music during football games whether it's the piped in music or the band in the background.  His eyes get real big when we "yell" or get into the game so he is quickly learning how this family reacts while watching our favorite teams play!  Here he is showing his team spirit!

Let's Go Browns!

 

So what's new in the movement department?  Well, there's a lot of stretching and reaching for things while sitting down.  Jack's not quite sure what his legs need to be doing and then when we put him on his tummy he just lies there with his arms and legs out to the side.  He loves standing on his feet if we hold him and he's not really trying to pull up on anything yet.  We are making progress and he seems pretty content with where he is at!

So all in all, our little one is growing up!  Now 10 months old, he is becoming a little boy before our eyes.  How blessed we feel everyday to be his parents!  He brings so much joy to our lives and already has such a fun personality of his own.  Here are a few fun pictures of Jack!  I don't think he could be any more serious-looking :)

 



 









Hello Texas and more!

Finally getting around to updating the blog with the goings ons of our family these days.  The past month and half have been extremely busy for us.  We made the move to San Antonio about a month ago [Nick had actually been living here for over a month].  Here's the house that we were so fortunate to find and buy!  It's a brand new house located just north of San Antonio.  We love the idea that it's brand new and we definitely enjoy having more space.

 

 

We will be posting a picture of Jack's room once we get it painted.  Speaking of Jack, what a fun and interesting phase he is going through!  Lots of chattering and mumbling and "dada" sounds.  Unfortunately, "mama" has not made it into his vocabulary, but we are working on it.  He is growing up so much and looking more and more like a little boy than a baby.  Time is really flying by us and it's hard to believe he is 9 months old.  Jack has been transitioning pretty well with the move and loves his new house.  When we walk through the front door after being out for a few hours, he gets pretty excited and moves his arms and legs back and forth when he sees his toys.  Here are a few fun pictures of Jack that we wanted to share from the past month or so.

 

Jack loves to grocery shop!  It took a few quick turns by Mommy for him to realize he needed to hold onto to the bar in front of him :)

Big boy eating- Jack enjoys eating peaches, pears, apples, yogurt and sweet potatoes.  He even has started eating puff snacks!

What a transition we are going through, but how blessed we feel to have been given this opportunity.  We know the Lord has so many great things in store for our family here and we can't wait to encounter many new adventures!
