My Dad

My dad and I have been close my whole life.  He is such a kind soul.  He loves everyone, but especially me.  He would do anything for me, and has done many things for me, even things that maybe I didn't deserve.  I haven't always been the best daughter in the world, but I will always appreciate and be grateful for the dad he has been to me.  I hope I can be as good of a mom to my kids as he has been a dad to me.  He is a great dad, the best.  Love you Dad.

1. I am still doing medical transcription from home, although some days I feel quite burnt out from it.  However, it is a GREAT job.  I love the flexibility of being able to write my own schedule, and being able to be home for my family.

2. We moved from Roosevelt last June, and have been living in the basement apartment of my parents' house.  It has been great for us, and I am extremely grateful, but I am ready to find a place of our own again.  Not only do I need my own space, but I need MORE space.

3. We are landlords.  We have been renting out our Roosevelt house since September.  While selling was our first choice, it didn't happen quickly enough, so we decided to rent it out.  It has worked out well for us.  Luckily, the tenants have been great.

4. I am part-owner in a beautiful horse, Dream of Jeannie.  I never imagined it would have happened already, but thanks to a great friend going in half on her, I am able to say I own a horse again. And... I am extremely excited for this year's show season!

5. I have 2 very smart kids. Jordyn and Jacob are doing great in school.  Jordyn LOVES it.  She would rather go to school than be off track (year round school), which they are right now.  Although she loves to be at the barn with me, which we do 3 times a week. Jacob is doing very well in school also.  He has a great teacher that fits his needs very well. He wishes he could spend time at the barn too, but with his allergies, he has a hard time, so he gets daddy time while Jordyn and I are gone.

6. I do my own taxes.  They are almost ready to go.

7. I was able to do a few shifts at the end of the year at Avenues Pet Clinic, where I worked before moving to Roosevelt.  It was good to do the work again, but I am grateful I don't have to work away from home 40 hours a week. 

8. I have awesome family and friends. You know who you are and why you are awesome. ;)  I wish I could see you more often.

9. I still get distracted TOO easy, like now, writing this blog. And with Facebook.  I am addicted... not to games and stuff, but to knowing what is going on in the lives of people I know.

10. I still love food...TOO much. With going to the barn and getting such a good workout riding and working there, I have really been trying to eat less junk and become healthier, but it is SO HARD.  I love junk food. I guess if I keep working on it, it will come...eventually.

Thanks for your interest in reading my blog.  My plan is to keep it up more often.  Every day? Probably not.  More frequent updates is the goal.

End of one era, beginning of another.

Wow. Well, time has been scarce lately, hence no blogging for a while.  I don't anticipate it getting much better in the next few weeks, but I will take some time to post a short one now. I mentioned before that I was hoping to move back to the Wasatch Front.  Well it is happening, as we speak.  Jared has been living at his brother Justin's and working down there for a couple months now.  I chose to stay in Roosevelt, so the kids could finish school and to get the house sold and ready to move.  The kids finished school last week, so we will be moving really soon.  The house hasn't sold yet, but it has been nice not to have to stress about that while Jared has been gone and I have been a "single mom."  Once the house does sell, we will begin our search for a house, location still unknown, somewhere between south SL county and north Utah county.  Until then, we are fortunate enough to be able to live in the basement apartment at my parents' place.  I will be excited to have it done.  Not a big fan of the moving process.

Day 4 - A habit that you wish you didn't have

Oh, there are so many bad habits... I guess because I am doing this right now, the worst habit I can think of is getting super distracted from my work with blogging (now) or Facebooking.  It is so easy to get caught up in the online world and forget about what I "should" be doing.  That being said, I am so grateful for being able to see what is going on in people's lives, especially those I don't get to talk to very often.  I feel connected to many of you through blogging and statuses and comments.  So I guess the part of the habit that I wish to be better about is the part of restricting myself on the amount of time spent and not doing it during work.

Day 3 - A picture of you and your friends

I have not been as good as I would have liked to be over the years at taking pictures, so I don't have many of us with our friends, but I do have some "borrowed" pics of them.  I cannot possibly put a picture of ALL of our friends on here, but I will put some of the friends that we have shared much of our time with and know details about us that many don't...and love us for those details, in spite of what they may be.  These are the friends that are still and always will be a part of our lives, friends that have been there through the good and the bad. Even though we may not see each other regularly at present, we still share that occasional phone call to catch up.

By us, I mean myself and my best friend, Jared.  I truly did marry my best friend.  I am so grateful for that.  He is a wonderful man, husband and father, and would do anything for me and our children.  I love you, Jared.

Crystal, John and Jazzy.

I met Crystal when she became my horse trainer in the early 1990s and we have been best friends ever since.  When we introduced our husbands, they got along great too.  Now our children are also very good friends.  We are and always will be best of friends. 

Crystal and Brad.

Crystal and Brad have been close friends since high school.  We don't talk often enough now, but when we do, the love and friendship is still there and always will be. 

Shelly.

Shelly completed the group of 4 in high school, along with Crystal and Brad.  She met her husband later, so we have not really been able to get to know him well. 

 Mike and Makinzee Loveridge.

Mike was the best man at our wedding.  He and Jared have been best friends since elementary school.  They lived in Idaho for 6 years, until last year, but our kids got to meet at Christmastime and proved that they will be great friends too.

The Hamp Family.

The Hamp's were our neighbors when we lived in Magna for 7 years.  We played softball with them and became quite close with their family.  We still keep in contact occasionally and are grateful for their friendship.

Jillian.

I met Jillian while working at a vet clinic.  We have been great friends ever since.  She is the prime example of loving someone that does not have the same beliefs as you.  When Jordyn was born, she gave me a gift that totally went against her own beliefs and supported mine.  I will remember and treasure it always.  We are still in contact quite often and she has gotten me through alot in my life.

We have only known this family for about a year, and already they are like family to us.  They are wonderful friends and will always be a part of our lives.  Our kids are best of friends too, and have been since they met.

As I mentioned before, there are many friends in our lives that I did not list.  We love each and every one of you and are grateful for your friendship.  Thank you for sharing your lives with us.

Day 2-The meaning behind your Blog name

Well..."Jared Libberton Family"...this one is pretty self-explanatory.  I thought about just putting Libberton Family, but then how would you know which Libberton family?  So I added Jared's name, since he is the patriarch of our little family.  It would be fun to come up with a fun title for the blog, but I got nothin right now, so its going to stay as is.

Side note:  Jacob said something funny this morning, so I will share.  I was lying in bed, not wanting to get up; I guess you could say I was being lazy.  He comes in and says, "Mom I have to go to the bathroom and Jordyn is in the other one."  Me: "Okay.  Go in mine." (We have a master bathroom.)  Jacob: "But I didn't want to wake you up."  Haha.  Too late.
