What Are You Doing For Christmas?

I'm headed home (to bellingham, WA) on thursday for Christmas. Course it doesn't look like this now... its probably all cold and wet! Course I guess the bay behind my parents is cold and wet... so its probably colder and wetter... my dad's glasses glasses rock!

Anyway, Its going to be awesome to see my parents and family and my nieces and nephew. So that's where I'm going... where are you going? Do you have any family traditions you would like to share? I'm continuing my tradition of buying the funniest gifts possible for everyone in my family. I got my younger brother the coolest shirt ever!

1. I am so glad that you have finally understood who you are, and despite life still being tough, I'm excited for what and who you will become. Hang on!

2. I'm glad that you still like me and still think I'm cool after all these years... even through the crap I put you through when we first met. You have become one of my closest and greatest friends. How my heart rejoices everytime I see you.

3. You are the noblest people I know. And I love you beyond words.

4. Holy crap you're talented, cool, and hot! I think that qualifies as a Technical Knock Out.

5. You worry too much about the details. Chill out and don't micromanagely stress out about your life. I'm glad that we are closer because of common experiences and I love you. I will always be there for you.

6. Your music inspires me beyond mortality. If there one reason why I am glad I never went back to Berklee you are it. I have learned so much from you. I love you and I can't wait for our futures to unfold... I hope that they will be intertwined... because it will rock!

Why Would You Ever Want To Live Here?

I went to Los Angeles to visit Robert LeGrand (silent T and D, and said all Frenchy-like). These are some pics from the beach. Eat your heart out world... it was 88 degrees and just lovely, well aside from the pollution, traffic, the vanity fair on Sunset Boulevard, and the dire need for truth to be taught in the streets. It was good to get away for a while. Enjoy these pictures and keep on rockin' in the free world... or something.

My Dislocating Shoulder

Most of you know my shoulder is prone to come out of its joint while sneezing, giving high fives, walking, sleeping, riding my bike, rock climbing, dusting couches, while being electricuted...

Anyway, it popped out again this weekend... and has everyday since then... it really hurts! So this blog entry is only to complain. ARrrrr! I need to get surgery I think. I hate surgery, too much of it already in this quarter of a century sojourn on this planet.

My Blower Motor Finally Works!!!!

For those of you who have not been in my car for a while, you wouldn't know that my blower motor hasn't worked for... oh since July... it made for a rather warm ride back from Moab and has been a pain in the neck for a while. Well, after about three weeks of sporadic troubleshooting... its fixed. The blower relay died... so I found it... pulled it out (it was really really hard to do this!) and put the new one in. Oh, man! The simple joys of having air on the face again.

Do You Know The Secret?

So one night I'm sitting at home and myself and one of my friends (her name is Janae, and she's freaking awesome) decided to watch a "movie" and on the TV lies this "movie" called 'The Secret.' Pretty much it shed some wonderful light on principles that are true and faithful. All I have to say about is that you ought to consider viewing it if you get a chance or know someone who has a copy.

Remember what Lectures on Faith says,

MUSE ROCKED

I must say I've never rocked so hard than I did last night... that was an amazing concert. Those boys sure do know how to put on a good show. I think they spoke like twelve words the whole night... the rest was constant, loud, apocalyptic rock. They are quite a talented band I must say as well... Again, like the death cab concert, the company was very good. :).

September 11th

Hope you all had a chance to remember today what happened 5 years ago in NYC. When I was in New York last October, I accidently rode the subway too far once and it went underneath ground zero... it was quite a moment for me. The subway driver slowed the cars as we passed underneath it and said, "World Trade Center, Ground Zero, Hallowed Ground." How we ought to remember...

Moab... its like riding on concrete

Sean (my brother), Yancy (my "other" brother), and a few of Yancy's friends went to Moab, Utah this past Labor Day weekend. For those who are out of the know with regards to the city, its pretty much a Mecca for mountain biking. We went down there to discover why. Here is some detail of the trip.

Friday night: Sean and I hop in the car and drive to Moab, arrive at about 11:30pm, eat Burger King, sleep in the car.

Saturday Morning: Rode the Amasa Back trail (a local favorite), I fell and scraped my knee... and then endoed and bashed my knee. OUCH! But kept riding... it was so much fun! Oh and I finally got to use my new mountain bike... it was sweet. I'm going to take off the stickers and put on a new one that says "Sledgehammer." Look at how sweaty we are! Yancy's hair is amazing.



Saturday Evening: Rode the practice loop on the Slick Rock trail. Sean worked on his trials skills... he's a champion! Slick rock riding is a lot like riding on concrete... its very unforgiving when you crash but you can climb almost anything!


Sunday: Slept in as much as possible... did some bike mechanics, read the word, eat, eat some more, then Sean, Yancy and I went to Arches National Park and played around. Look at all the dirt!





Monday Morning: Rode the Slick Rock Trail. I had to bail early and walk back because the knee that I bashed on Satuday was hurting too much going up hill. So I learned how to ride Moab with one leg. But the rest of the guys had a good time tackling some wicked climbs. This pic is of Sean charging up "The Wall"... the second time!

Monday Afternoon: Drove home.

All in all, a great trip. Don't think I could ride slick rock everyday, but it was well worth it last weekend. I think we might go do a tour of Arches on road bike in a few weeks... but we are safely back aside from a few scrapes and hurting knees. Can't wait to get out and ride again.

Evening Friends!

Tomorrow is the day... My bro and I leave for Moab for a wonderful adventure mountain biking the slick rock of Southern Utah. We will be wonderfully accompanied by Yancy and a few other guys. I am so excited! There is NO cell reception there... and thank goodness!

I'll post pics and another blog when I return... pray I don't kill myself... or really any of us... :)

My Sister Beat Me and My Brother... Oi

In a rather quick dash to the altar my sister and her new hubby were married last tuesday. It was sweet to be home... the wedding was lotsa fun. The kids in the family turned into matches and gasoline. We were a bit more animated to say the least at the wedding... well at least compared to Scott's family.

Beth and Scott are cute together... mainly because they are both short. They are going to make little tiny babies... wierd.



Anyway, if Scott or Beth reads this... have a fabulous life together... and Scott if you screw things up my brothers and I will kill you...

Jason Eat World

Tonight was a special night... My dear friend Katie is leaving the Utah... oh how jealous I am... but because we are such good friends it would only be fitting to spend one of her last nights in this state together... The following is a pictoautography of the evening...

We met up around 7ish and decided that it would be fun to go check out what was going down at the Planetarium. We drove, parked, walked and bought tickets to "Rock On Demand." We didn't know if it was going to ROCK or SUCK when we bought the tickets but we figured the company would be good enough.

We had an hour to kill so we walked around the Gateway for a while and got some ice cream courtesy of Ben and Jerry's

Before that, actually, we went to the Apple store to check out the latest in iPod speaker systems... Katie has bee thinking about getting one... I think she has chosen the JBL Creature II speakers... they seemed to be the best bump for the buck.



Then we went and got ice cream... and checked out some tunes at the Virgin Superstore...



Then we went to the show... it was killer! Lasers, 6 projectors, a dome to view on, and really loud music. The way it worked is that you get to pick 8 out of 12 songs to listen to and watch the visual... I must say that Metallica rocked the most... I honestly thought I was going to throw up afterwards! It was rad!



Then afterwards we played around in the planetarium!




I think Katie is kinda sad she's leaving... But she will love it!
