Busy Making A Baby

Okay Shannan, here is my freaking update. Jason and I just found out we are prego! And so excited. We did not expect it to happen so quickly. I really thought it was going to take awhile. But my mom called me last week (which was the 1 yr. anniversary since Amy passed) and let me know Amy's best friend, Jessica was pregnant and due in June. (Amy's birthday.) So of course I was super jealous! I was happy for her, but so wanted to be pregnant. Well, next week comes along and no period, overwhelming sense of smell, huge boobies, and cravings of mexican food. I took the test Friday morning and it was positive.

Anyway, we've both been very busy with work. I'm super excited about an new job opportunity. I'm still doing real estate and thriving thankfully. It was a huge risk, but it's been worth it. I've learned a lot about myself and my strengths. I just know that this what I want to do and I'm not going to let the economy burst my bubble! I want to run the show one day and own my own brokerage. =)

Kylee started dance at Shannan's studio and loves it! She calls it "balleg". Funny huh? She kills me. I'm so excited to watch her become a big sissy! She is still a little confused about it, but I think she'll come around. I can't believe how smart she is and how grown up she's getting.

And Jason has been hunting ever spare minute he gets. (He's even shot, caught, whatever you call it, 2 ducks!) Which isn't much since he's always out of town. I seriously have the best husband in the world. We just celebrated our 1 yr anniversary at Oktoberfest (yeah, really nice since I was probably prego and totally had some German beer) up at Snowbird. The colors of the trees were awesome! Anyway, back to my awesome husband. I've never seen him so affectionate, and he's the most lovey-dovey guy I've ever dated. You can tell he's so excited. I really think we got pregnant on our anniversary.

Well anyway, that is our update. I'll be better about updating.... I hope.

I love her and this video...

I'm in a blogging mood apparently.... Well I'm supposed to be working, but keep getting pre-occupied. Anyway, I just downloaded Adele and saw her video on VH1 yesterday. It's so cute...

Also...

Sorry if some of my blogs make me sound like such a downer. I'm really not, I just associate a lot of my everyday events with Amy because we were so close. It is getting much easier the more I do talk about it, so thank you for listening while I rant and rave about how much I miss her... =)

Pictures of our Bedroom...

This Kylee girl helping me paint..

She had so much fun! Kylee loves to be my little helper in EVERYTHING. Sometimes it's so hard to just let her do it and get paint everywhere and learn. =) But it's worth it.... My mom came over a couple nights last week and helped me hammer this out. She is the best painter and it's fun spending time together. It's wierd without my baby sister I must say. I can't think of one room I've decorated/painted that she hasn't been by my side. Maybe that's why I've put off decorating my house all year? These are some fun pictures from last year when we painted my hallway....

You guys don't understand what a nightmare it was to organize ALL my horendous clothes, move furniture out of the room, clean it, etc. I had a lot of clothes to deal with because of all the hand me downs I got out of Amy's closet.

So that was very relieving once I got that out of the way. I was able to finally finish a project!

What do you guys think about the bedroom? Is it over the top? It is so romantical and I love the colors, but not sure if I went over board. The quilt is also such a special quilt. I really wanted to use that as the inspiration for the colors. (Reds, gold tones, and the paint color.)

Amy gave me that quilt for Christmas a couple years ago. We both used to work for Sundance Catalog and I would always tell her how much I wanted it but it was so dang expensive. She must have bought it in like May because once I was ready to buy the quilt for my birthday in June, it was sold out! So I bawled when I opened it on Christmas day.

She was the best present giver.

Was anyone shocked?

I cannot believe Kherington went home! I was seriously shocked. I should have voted. I am no one to be mad. I predicted Gev and Komfort would go home. Sad. Oh yeah, I think Kherington is a cute girl name if anyone is having a girl.

Jason is coming home today and I can hardly stand it. We kind of had a fight at the beginning of the week. (Well I got mad at him, he never gets mad.) And being apart and mad makes it so hard when you miss each other so much. I hate him sometimes. Ha ha. It will be so nice cause he is home next week and we're going camping Thurs. Fri. and Sat. all by ourselves. (Hubba hubba.) Just kidding, but we need some alone time. Him being gone 90% of the time sucks, I don't know how women do it.

Since he's been gone I've created little "projects" around the house to keep me busy. I'll post a picture of my romantical bedroom when it is finished. I just have a couple more things to do, so stay tuned.......

2 Favorite Spots

Okay, I've found two of my most favorite places in the world right now: The Farmer's Market at Pioneer Park and this cool trail by my house. This picture is at the bottom of the trail and it kicks my butt. (Okay, it does look a little steeper in this picture, but it really is a beast.) The sunrise is amazing in the morning and Max loves to tag along.

This is at the top looking at the city.

Amy and I just started this super funky condo community downtown called "Westgate Lofts".

It is right across the street from Gateway and we've really been spending a lot of time up there. I feel completely out of place because I've always grown up it suburbia. I must say, I'm falling more and more in love with the liberal life style. (I don't know that I could ever pull it off with a growing family.) But I'm realizing how important it is to be open minded and try to understand other cultures.

I'm the first to admit that I've been very ignorant or naive up till now. Not that I'm a judgemental person at all. I've just never had that kind of exposure to that lifestyle for some reason.
I'm making it a goal to expose Kylee to all these wonderful things our beautiful state has to offer. And I'm making it a goal for me to really get a feel for the different cultures expanding over Salt Lake.

Babies

Oh my gosh, I swear I am the only one that is not either pregnant or just had a baby in the last 6 months. I'm really feeling left out here guys. Maybe it's because I so badly want to be pregnant and I think when you want it so bad, everyone is pregnant.

My life has been in such a disaray for the last 2-3 years, it has never felt like a good time to plan a baby. I think we are all at a point in our lives now that it might be a good idea to start trying. I miss my little Kylee being a baby.

I think the real reason I've put it off is because I'm scared to experience something so beautiful without with my sister. I know I sound so lame and all I do is talk about her. But I love her and miss her so much. She was such a big part of Kylee's birth and was always there to help me whenever I need her. The picture below is my favorite. Kylee was maybe 4 months there. What a chunk!

I think my sister wants us to be happy, duh I know she does. It'll be a wonderful experience either way, I just need to get off my arse and start making a baby.

On a lighter note, I'm so excited for my partner, Amy, to have a baby. (Yes, if you didn't know she is 2 months prego!) It is such a big deal because they have been trying so hard and I hated seeing her sad when each month passed and the tests were negative. So I couldn't be more happy. I swear I am having serious sympathy pains for her and have lost my mind. Even more than normal! I really think it is the baby. (Ha ha. Or my excuse.)

Oh Yeah, My Favorite Was...

I loved this dance from SYTYCD. We went to Reno last year to see Season 3 perform and you better believe I will go again this year! I'm so torn on all the dancers.....

We are going out of town this weekend, so I won't get to see the results show till Monday. So don't blow it for me.

Funny things they do...

Kylee seriously has an imagination. I got so sick and tired of our robes chillin on the floor and had Jason put these hooks up in our bedroom. Everytime I walk by them, Kylee has tied them together to look like they're holding hands. How cute, huh? If we even move them, she gets all bent out of shape.

Yay for Family Time

A couple weeks ago, Jason and I decided to buy a little tent trailer that we can haul our bikes on. Yes, I got a tiny dirt bike that I can learn to ride. Riding dirt bikes is Jason's biggest passion and I don't want him to lose that passion because he's married. So, we'll see how we do. Luckily, noone caught pictures of me learning how to ride on this trip. I ate **it a couple times. This is from Memorial Day weekend for Nate's birthday. It was a blast and was so nice to get away for just a couple days. Also, Kylee thinks that the desert is the beach. She played in the sand all day and all night. We met some cute little friends as well.

2008 Relay for Life

I have been so excited to post on my blog about the last weekend. I've just been so busy trying to play catch up in real life. =) Nonetheless, it was a sad, overwhelming, but amazing day.

When we first started setting up, it was a nightmare. I swear everyone in our family were at each other's throats. You know how you're more mean to family because you know they'll love you in the morning? That was us. As the night went on though, it seriously turned to magical.

It was also Amy's birthday, so it was fun to give her a bash. I've created a slide show for everyone to see....

Life Ain't Always Beautiful.....

For some reason, today is harder than most. I just got done getting caught up on So You Think You Can Dance and there was a dance that just brought out so many tears. I can't stop now. I've never listened to the words before and the dance just brought out all these emotions. I know it has to do a lot with the fact that it's Amy's birthday tomorrow, Jason's out of town and I miss him terribly and Kylee is with her Daddy. So the song kind of explains how I've been feeling when they're not there by my side.

Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air
If I should die before I wake
It's 'cause you took my breath away
Losing you is like living in a world with no air
OhI'm here alone, didn't wanna leave
My heart won't move, it's incomplete
Wish there was a way that I can make you understand

But how do you expect meto live alone with just me
'Cause my world revolves around you
It's so hard for me to breathe
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
It's how I feel whenever you ain't there
It's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gonna be without me
If you ain't here, I just can't breathe
It's no air, no air

No air, air
No air, air
No air, air
No air, air

I walked, I ran, I jumped, I flew
Right off the ground to float to you
There's no gravity to hold me down for real
But somehow I'm still alive inside
You took my breath, but I survived
I don't know how, but I don't even care

So how, do you expect me, to live alone with just me
'Cause my world revolves around you
It's so hard for me to breathe

I have these days a lot and I'm hoping it's not an "abnormal" way to grieve? Some times I wonder. On the up side, being by myself so much, it's forced me to learn how to cope. I've found my love for working out and dancing again. I forgot just how much I love music and how much I like myself. =) I'm finally to the point where I'm sick of being sorry for myself and I'm going to put all this negative energy into something positive. (At our dance jam class last night, the song "Man In the Mirror" came on. What a great song, huh?) Told ya, lovin music again.
One other good thing is my hubby comes home late tonight and I get to cover him with all my kisses! And maybe a little more.... Ha ha.

P.S. Another song that comes to mind is that Gary Allen song: "Life ain't always beautiful, but it's a beautiful ride"
