The Fire

Aren't my post titles so creative?  I really can't come up with a catchy title.  It is what it is, a five alarm fire and there is not a whole lot left but mangled metal, ash and cinder block.  I didn't get very many good pictures of the actual fire because by the time I got there it was pretty well burnt out.

Happy Thanksgiving (Late)

Chloe made/brought home these costumes from preschool.  Her teacher is awesome!  She does so many things with the kids.  Chloe loves her.

Evan was not very happy about wearing this.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at the Burtons.  It was a small crowd this year, but it was a nice relaxing day.  It is tradition that every Thanksgiving they shoot clay pigeons.  The boys had lots of fun.

Soccer

 

Evan played soccer again this fall and loved it.  It took him a while to get over the disappointment of not being allowed to play football, but he was happy once the season started.  He is such a go getter.  He always gives 100% and is such a good player.  He has a passion for sports and it shows.

The Griz

Football.  John coached.  Ryan played.  It consumed our lives for four months.  It was fun and exciting.  Glad it's over and can't wait until next year.

Ryan was number 25.  He said he misses hitting people.  OK????  He is so mild mannered and laid back that it is odd to hear him say that.  John LOVED coaching.  Ryan will play for Stayton Middle School next year and John is trying to figure out a way to get on the coaching staff.  I guess he missed his calling in life.  On offense Ryan played tail back and a little tight end.  On defense he played linebacker.  He was also the kicker and punter.  He had a pretty good record for kicking extra points.

Ryan ran this one 74 yards for a touchdown . . .

. . . even more exceptional since his pants were falling down.  He ran the whole way with the ball in one hand and pulling up his pants with the other, while he juked his way through the defense.

One guy on him here and in the next pic there are four.  It was so funny because he drug all of them along behind him for a few yards before they took him down.

Scouting

Ryan with his friends Jarred and Ethan.  Ryan received some merit badges and his Tenderfoot and Second Class rank.  He has since earned First Class.

Utah Trip

So these posts are a little out of order.  OH-well.  In August we went to Utah.  My sister's baby was blessed and we were able to help my dad celebrate his birthday.  While we were there we went down to Provo for the blue and white game.  It was so crazy hot.  We were like eggs frying in the stands.  After the game John and the kids went out on the field to meet some of the players.  Ryan brought his football to have autographed.  The kids loved playing on the field.

They met Bronco Mendenhall.  Ryan told him he was going to play for him someday.  Go Ryan!

Ryan has some growing to do.

Ryan, Evan and Chloe with my Grandma Young, their Great-Grandma.  It is so nice having her close to my parents so we can visit her when we go to Utah.

We went to a fun bounce house and roller skating rink that I can't remember the name of.  The kids had a blast.
