I can feel winter in my bones...

Winter is upon us! It is getting cold up here in Park City.

I took the last 4 days off from work to relax and have a stay-cation. I'm so ready for winter in the sense of skiing, it's not even funny.

Am I ready for winter in the sense of work? Nope, not quite. With the H2B Visa situation we are in, I'm in need of employees. And not just ordinary employees, but HARD workers. I know you're out there! So callll me! I need Full-time Seasonal staff.

I've been living in a cute condo up Daly Canyon all summer with roommates. I'll be here all winter and I'm excited for the adventure that will come with living up this canyon.

I had a rough week in the girlfriends department.

Kate moved back to Indy to re-eval life and work. I miss her. I understand why she had to move, it makes sense. But it still sucks.

Stacey moved up to Whistler. She couldn't get a work visa in the US. So she applied for one in Canada. This week she was granted a 2 year work visa and got a job at the best bar at the resort. I'm so proud of her. I'm still not happy that she isn't here to be my best friend and roommate. I want to go to Canada to visit her, I WILL make it happen. It's just a matter of time before I get up there. (Dear Canada, will you please let me into your country? Pretty Please? Love, Jacqi)

HOWEVER!
Brandace is in town! She is watching Bryce and Lane! Sooo fun getting to see her! :)

I love all my lady friends in SLC. But sometimes it is just so tough getting down there to hang out. I promise I'll be better! Ugh!

Also, on the fitness front.

It's no secret that moving to Nantucket did a dozy on my body. Let's just say my "boyfriend jeans" became my "go-to" and then my "oh shit these are the only thing that fit" jeans.

I have a love/hate relationship with the gym. It's probably because swimming was my sport and I ALWAYS hated dry land exercises. I've been REALLY good about going. And I've been trying to go to classes as well. My dear friend Michelle has been my inspiration. And I'm trying to get in shape for the upcoming ski season.

We all know that I won't be a "runner" but I'm trying. I'd love to try to get into triathlons. Maybe. No promises.

I'm the worst blogger ever. Maybe one day I'll be better at it. Until next time.

Thank you StumbleUpon...

Will there ever be a brave one... Needless to say, I'm back on the hunt :(

Potential Home?

Well we woke up this morning to a fresh 6 inches of snow on the deck. So let's just say that moving was NOT going to happen this morning. My dad was kind enough to move a lot of my "little stuff" to my parents house while I was at work! What a guy! My dad is seriously to BEST!

If you live in Utah, or have friends that are avid skiers (living in Utah) you will know what happened today. Snowbird reported RECORD BREAKING numbers of SNOWFALL this year. A lot of my buddies were up there today making turns in the freshies. Jealous!

Headache is gone. Just in cause you were wondering. (Thank you sleep and and much needed shoulder rub)

Tomorrow morning will be the big push to get the last of my stuff out of Holiday Ranch Loop. It will be making a pit shop on Lucky John until the end of the week. Then I will FINALIZE my living arrangements.

Did you hear that? LIVING ARRANGEMENTS? My (now former) roomie Stacey hooked me up with one of her gal pals from Legends (at PCMR). I will (cross your fingers) be moving into a place on Daly for the next 6-12 months. I just need to meet the rest of the roomies and move forward from there.

Patrick sent in his information to do a field project this summer in Washington state. I am crossing my fingers and toes for him. It is with wolverines (how cool is that?!?!) Even though it is far away... It is such a great opportunity for him! Distance only makes the heart grow fonder... Right? Best of luck to my man!

Until tomorrow!

Blah...

This is how I feel. I have a headache. I have been getting a lot of these throughout the winter. I am trying to drink lots of water and stay hydrated at this elevation. My headaches were getting so bad that I quit Diet Coke! I did it! I went Cold Turkey on February 6th. Do I regret my decision? No. I feel that my body needed a break. Do I have cravings? YES! Quiting DC didn't solve my headaches right away, it made them worse (but that was my body responding to the addiction). So while I drink lots and lots of water, sometimes it just doesn't help. I have to self mediate with lots of Advil, food, and rest.

Patrick has a sore throat. So we slept in this morning, resting our bodies so that we can get well. We had a yummy breakfast (Cheerios, sliced bananas, and blueberries). We took Hayden (the dog I'm house sitting) on a big walk, and it started to snow. Everyone knows that I love, love, love the snow. But not at the end of April, when all the resorts in PC are closed. And no, I don't feel like skinning up the mountain and skiing down. We got lunch at Booster Juice, visited with the lovely Marilyn. Booster Juices are the best. For after working out, for lunch, for hangovers, sore throats, or just good chat with Marilyn.

I feel like blah for more reasons than just, "my head hurts."

My roommates are moving away. Kevin is living in Nantucket for the summer, he left at the beginning of April with Porter (the black lab he and Stacey have). Stacey is East with Kev for the week and will be in town for 2 days, then in Mexico with friends, home for 2 days, then back to Aus for who knows how long. I'm sad! Timmy is living in Salt Lake for summer to "get away from the PC drama" we'll see how long he lasts.

I have no place to live.

I thought I found something, I stopped looking. I didn't listen to my friends. Guess what, it fell through. Do my parents still like in PC? Yes. Could I live rent free? Yes. Do I want to live at home? No. Why? I'm turning 26 years old this year. I love my parents dearly, but I need to be on my own, I need to pay my own bills, I need to be an adult. A homeless adult.

I am currently house sitting until May 2nd. So I have THAT home. I can stay with Patrick for a few days...

I'm feeling down. I'm on craigslist everyday. I want to live in town, I want off street parking, I want an unfurnished room, I want, I want, I want.

Anyone know someone with a place in Park City? Looking to rent a room?

Help a sista' out!

Oh! And someone sat or threw or dropped something on my beautiful car. So now I have a million scratches and a big dint! Awesome!

(Will someone please teach me how to add photos from Webpages?)

Catch UP!!!!

Hello all,

I really should get better about blogging and not just blog stalking... So here is what I've been up to.
I moved home from Nantucket on Friday, November 5th. It was sooooo good to be greeted by my family. To see a few friends, and to see where I would be living over the winter. My dad did a great job of finding us an awesome location for the winter.
While the house needed/needs a few repairs, it works for us. It even has a living room big enough for the Aussies to visit (two are here now, more to come).

I went to the UTAH/TCU game with Mr. McD on Saturday, November 6th. It was such a disappointment. I really wanted us to kill them.... Oh well. I spent good times with good friends and that is the best that I could ask for, at least for now. While the season didn't turn out as well as we all hoped, at least we beat BY-Who!

I started my first BIG GIRL job on Monday, November 8th. I am now the Front Desk Manager at The Chateaux at Silver Lake.
We are under the management of Stein Eriksen Lodge Management Corporation. Greg Gendron (my old boss from The Residences) is now the General Manager of The Chateaux and Residence Club.

It has been a bit crazy in the life of Jacqi. Learning the operations of a hotel you've never worked at before is hard. While I know Park City well, and Deer Valley even better. The Chateaux has been a different kind of beast. I am fortunate to have my ladies backing me (Carolyn, Stacey and Karen) They came from Nantucket and BOY do they know hotels. I am trying to learn as much from Karen as possible. This woman is a GENIOUS!

I miss my Crew at The Res. I miss them sooooo much. While I was in Nantucket I would call almost daily, and wish that I was back with them. Now I am soooooo close, yet sooo far away.
Charlotte, Jo, Me and Celeste
JT and I

I am so happy to be back in the mountains for the winter. With all the snow here, and on the way! There is nothing like getting out there and making some turns. I have a pretty darn cute ski buddy these days. And he just so happens to be my boyfriend.

Patrick and I

Pat has given me a new appreciation for skiing. I want to see more of what the mountain has to offer. To ski a little outside of my comfort zone. He is patient and is able to give me constructive criticism. (Without me freaking out, it's pretty much amazing).

Valentine's Day came and went, and boy are the flowers on my nightstand pretty. I'm so stoked to be dating such a nice guy. Someone that makes me laugh till I cry, smile ear to ear, and just want to be a better person.

WEHR: Day at Great Point

At the end of August we decided that we need to go to Great Point before the weather had gotten too cold. Victor and Carolyn have been coming to Nantucket for almost 10 years between the two of them and NEVER BEEN THERE. SOOO... on September 30th, 2010 off we went.

Kylie went in the boot. With all of our supplies.

Tania.

Group shot. Two Kiwi's, two Jamaicans, a Scot, and the token American.

Lighthouse

G-man.

Possible album cover?

Carolyn carrying the lighthouse?

Now on her head?

When I received my "Spirit Award" a.k.a. employee of the month the staff showed up in blonde wigs and glasses. They thought it would be funny to take a pic at the lighthouse as well.

And now a normal photo...
Have to at least attempt a jump pic! haha

Can't not have a little DG love...
