I'm back for real...

Ok so I wasn't back on Monday night, but today is better late than never, right? It seems like it's been so long since I have really posted. I figured the best way to blog the past events would to be in an order so here goes...

On September 17 one of my best friends had her precious little girl Mary Bradley. She weighed I think 7 lb 2 oz. We went to Tuscaloosa for our North Texas game, and we also visited the new family in the hospital. She is absolutely beautiful! Candace did great!

We had a fun birthday celebration for Hunter and my dad on Hunter's birthday on October 17. I can't believe he is already 26! 26 sounds so old to me for some reason. I know I will be that in a few short months, it's just weird to be in your late twenties, not early or mid, but late. Oh well! His birthday dinner comes without pictures due to the lack of power. I pulled up on my mom and dad's street, and I noticed we didn't have any lights on and everyone was there. For a split second I thought they were planning a surprise for me! haha how stupid! For some reason they lost power so for the majority of their birthday party we didn't have any lights.

The next weekend we went to Tuscaloosa to celebrate our great friends, Jeff and April's wedding. It was such a fun weekend! They had the rehearsal dinner at Cypress Inn (yummy rolls), and the wedding was in a beautiful church in downtown Tuscaloosa. It was such a sweet ceremony, and one of the best sermons I have ever heard. Alabama also beat Ole Miss making it an extra great weekend!

Halloween this year was just about the same as last year. Every year we say "Oh we should have a big party or go somewhere fun" but we never do. I'm ok with it though. After going out in Tuscaloosa in bars, I realized that if I didn't ever go into another bar again I would be fine. I just enjoy having friends over and having a drink these days. We ended up spending some time with my niece Clara and my nephew Jack while they got dressed in their costumes. Clara was the cutest poodle I have ever seen, and Jack was the cutest monkey I have ever seen. After that we had dinner with my parents, and then came home to watch football. I bought candy and carved our jack-0-lantern and we had NO trick-or-treaters. I don't know why because we have kids around us, but for some reason they didn't like us! I'm not buying candy next year because this is the second year in a row with no kids!

Last weekend was so much fun! My Aunt and Uncle and their friends flew in for a long weekend for some Alabama culture, but mostly to experience an SEC game. We went to dinner at The Club on Friday night with everyone, well everyone minus Jack and Clara. My sweet in-laws came as well. We spent the night relaxing with great company and ended it with some dancing! I actually danced!!! I almost couldn't believed it. It was the only time it made me want to go back and get married again with a first dance, but too late for that! Saturday was the big day. We all went to Tuscaloosa, and I don't think I have ever seen the campus that crowded! There were people everywhere! My in-laws who are Auburn fans even came...they must really love us ;-) We spent the day eating on the quad, walking my aunt and uncle around campus, and then watching the game. We won making us going to the SEC Championship so it was a great end to another great weekend!

I am back...well for a minute. It's my 100th post, but I'm afraid it won't be my best! I am ashamed of my absence from blogging! I have truly missed blogging. I haven't been ignoring ya'll though. I have kept up with everyone else! I have a lot to catch up on. I promise to blog tomorrow with a lot of happenings and exciting things that have been going on! And, of course I will have lots of pictures. Here's a couple to see for now! See ya'll tomorrow ;-)

Time Out

This picture represents our dog, Susie, who is sitting in time out. Hunter and I had been talking about getting a baby gate to put Susie in the front room of our house where there isn't much for her to ruin if she decides to be bad. However, while I was out of work I started leaving her out in the house while I was gone. I started slow...maybe 15 minutes, then 30, then a couples hours. She did great! Hunter and I thought for sure she was ready to roam the house alone. For the past two months we have had no problems. Today the tides have changed.

Most of you know, I started a new job teaching preschool. I absolutely love it, but I am exhausted by the time I get home. Hunter had dinner plans with a friend, so in my mind I had imagined a night of quiet time. I was going to come home, cook dinner, and watch my favorite tv shows and go to bed early. A surprise was waiting on me when I walked in the door. I walked through the kitchen, and I saw a cloud of white puffs EVERYWHERE. I then saw trails of vomit, wood chips, and brown string. It completely covered our den. Susie was jumping on me so excited that I was home. I was beyond upset. I didn't know wether to cry or to yell. I decided to scream. I screamed so loud that our neighbor yelled out if I was ok. There was throw up on our leather chair, on the carpet, on the couch, and on the wood floor. She had eaten a pillow, chewed up Hunter's shoe horns, chewed our monogram off of my favorite blanket that we received as a wedding present, and then thrown it all up-all over the house. I spanked her hard, fed her dinner (I almost didn't), and put her in time out. She's still there. I don't know if this tactic works for dogs, but I'm trying it. I might just let her stay there until Hunter comes home. ...

Thinking Blue....

I have some great news...I will have another nephew arriving on March 22, 2010! I am so excited for my sister to have another boy! I am so blessed to have Jack and Clara in my life. Clara will definitely be the Queen of the household! Being an aunt is one of the greatest things I have ever experienced. I can't wait to meet him!

Parties, Babies, and Weddings!

Long time, no blog...I have missed everyone! I have a lot to catch up on! Hunter and I had such a busy weekend! Starting on Friday night we hosted a shower for two of our great friends who are tying the knot in Tuscaloosa, October 10th. I can't wait for their wedding! It was great to visit with them celebrate their upcoming wedding! Saturday morning, I hosted a baby shower for my friend Candace. She is due in two weeks!!! I can't believe it! It seems just like yesterday when I posted here. She looks adorable...all belly!! I can't wait to believe Mary Bradley! Candace got a lot of great things. Mary Bradley will be looking cute all the time! Saturday night Hunter and I had a wedding of a friend of his. We had a great time catching up with friends and celebrating another wedding!

On some good and exciting news, I accepted a job offer on Friday afternoon so it definitely kicked my weekend off to a great start! I start my work tomorrow, and I am very anxious and excited! I will be teaching at a preschool, and I couldn't be more excited! Kids are definitely my passion and make me smile so I think this will work out just fine! Summer Reading Updates

This summer I have been very busy reading books! I first blogged here about all of the books I wanted to read before the summer was over. I'm getting close to finishing my list! First I read "The Fixer Upper" by Mary Kay Andrews. It was such a cute, light read! It is set in the south, with cute characters, and a cute storyline. I love all of Mary Kay's books, and I recommend this one to those who like her style of reading as much as I do. The books is somewhat predictable, but fun!The next book I tackled was "Twenties Girl" by Sophie Kinsella. She is also one of my favorite authors. I ended up really enjoying the book, but it took me a while to get into it. In the beginning, I wasn't quite sure if I would end up liking it. It set off to a slow start, but the plot thickened up, and I began to enjoy the story. It was also an easy read! It's a cute book with a little mysterious twist to it. The third book I just finished was "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. I absolutely loved this book! Out of the three this one was my favorite. My mom and grandmother both read this, and said how much they enjoyed it. I thought it was funny that my grandmother had a hard time getting used to the dialect. With me being from the south, it was easy for me to adapt and read it in the natural state. This book had me turning the pages so fast. I read it in one week. I would have finished it earlier, but I had to get off of the couch at some point. I even decided to put it down for a day because I didn't want to rush through the book too fast. This didn't last long...I picked it up and finished it yesterday! I highly suggest this book to everyone. It has such a meaningful story that is full of character, southern culture (good and bad), and grace. My last book that I hope to begin reading before the end of the week is "Best Friends Forever" by Jennifer Weiner. I hope this one is as good as the others!

As for the rest of my life, a little news. I lost my job last week. It was a hard day, but after all was said and done, I am at peace with it. I am actually a lot happier than I was. I am finally able to sit down and think about what I truly want in life. It has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I have had time to relax, think about my future, and focus on my happiness. I know God has a plan for my life, and it is to prosper and be happy. I am ready for my next chapter in life!
