UCLA GAME!

Hello! Did anyone see that? We totally beat ASU, and they are ranked, like 1st place? YO! What a fun game. We were so lucky to be invited by our friends.

9 year olds are just way too much fun. These crazy guys were very enthusiastic and LOUD. Kimball totally lost his voice (a first for him). It was very funny.

Happy Halloween!

We live on the Halloween Street of La Canada. It ends up being a ginormous block party. After distributing about 2000 pieces of candy, we turn the lights off and go to bed. This year Joel supplemented the candy with some toothpaste. We were quite the hit. And with the smoke and Halloween music, well, we were pretty awesome. Kids had a blast, and I hate to admit it, but so did we! So next year, come on over!

Summer Fun!
I can't believe we are almost halfway through August and I have no blogs to show for it! Here are a couple of Summer memories.

We've got a few more trips and visits from cool aunts and uncles to document.

On a side note, we came home from a trip to find we had a broken A/C, a washer that overflows, torn up showers, and a thin layer of dust on EVERYTHING.
Made me want to turn around and head back to Utah!
The next day we went on an evening walk. Oh, California!
Why does your weather have to be so darn amazing.

We were quick to realize how silly we are and how good we have it.

Here are a few of the latest happenings:

The kids sing with the PCY Chorus. Clara LOVES it, and Kimball sometimes LIKES it. He often sings an octave lower and complains that he is not allowed to sing Tenor. I have to admit, he and his friends are menaces to any choir director! Clara sings all the time and enjoys getting up in front of a crowd. She never shies away from solo. She has recently sung in church on Easter, for her Great Grandmother's funeral, and at a Baptism. Go Clara!

Medieval Faire = spray painted hair and face paint. Notice anything new about this smile?

Cub Scouts: Isn't he cute? Kimball is officially a Wolf.

First time pitching in a baseball game! This year's team was all about "having fun." You can probably guess what that means...not necessarily in the finals ;) but we sure had a good time with great friends. Go Red Socks!

"The Binky Fairy take it a heaven!"

If you happen to run into Tessa, she might say this little phrase as part of her introduction. I wouldn't say she is proud of her accomplishment, but she is very aware that her binky is no longer around. We started by reading this:

When Tessa started talking about the Binky Fairy, we knew she was ready.

We had a little party and sent the binky to Binky Fairy Heaven via balloons. Next we found presents that the binky fairy left for Tessa: a new baby doll, pillow, and a fairy costume! We played pin the binky on the baby, sucked on ring pops, and dance dance danced! Tessa was so tired that night. It all worked out beautifully!

Tessa took her last couple of sucks.
Then we waived good-bye to the binky as it floated away.

Not quite convinced.

Surprise! Binky Fairy brought presents.

I love the binky. I think I was more sad to see it go than Tessa. So long to peaceful nights of sleep, quiet sacrament meetings, and good old plugging. My baby is growing up.
Now, on to potty training!

Oh So Sick...

The kids and I have been sick with the stomach flu this week. Not fun. But, I'm happy to say that we are on the up! Maybe tomorrow (if the night is "barf-free") we will go to the zoo, or the beach, or anywhere for that matter. I am ready to get out of this house!

No, Mommy, No! I scared a Santa.

Tessa stood in front of Santa and said:
"Santa, I want a baby and a sword"
Then we gently put Tessa on Santa's lap while holding big brother and big sister's hands.
You can see what happened next.
Maybe next year will be more successful. Tessa does not trust the man in red!

Sweet Reagan turns 16!

My little sister turned 16 and invited us old people to her big bash! Thanks Reagan.
