Recherche activement EXCELLENT COLORISTE pour la BD GOLIGO /// Actively searching for VERY GOOD color artist for the comics series GOLIGO

Bonjour tout le monde.

Hey everyone. For English version, Just scroll down.

I need you, I want you.
Bises, GOBI

So as the title says I’m looking for a skilled person to work on the colors of my comics series Goligo.
The first volume, which has just been completed, will come out on the 11th of September this year at GlÃĐnat editions. I intend to get down to writing the script and starting my design researches around that time, and then start on the comics pages per se  around October or November (I shall be more precise when I myself will know more, of course).

It should be paid around 80 euros per page (and one volume is 86 pages all in all) but a higher price could be negotiated depending on the efficiency of your work as a color artist and how much time it helps me save on the whole (also maybe if said work really is super-duper awesome and stellar)

On this comics series I would need someone with a lot of experience, who has already worked in the animation industry for example (be it on background designs or other), who knows their way around contrasts, knows how to enhance a layout, how to deal with varied types of lighting and ambiances, has a good perception of volumes, has a good grasp of Adobe Photoshop and who understands - if not downright loves - my drawing style (it could help).

The idea would be to obtain a similar if not superior result to what I’ve already done on the first volume (which should be completely achievable as I don’t pretend I’m the king of color artists or anything). In short, the less debriefing and touch-up/retake work I need to do afterwards, the better.

People who already have affinities with the type of universe developed in this project (that is to say, sort of Miyazaki-ish, among others) are of course more than welcome and would probably enjoy themselves all the more as they’re working on it. The reason I mentioned animation at all is that, on Goligo, I’d like to keep the colors and shadowing simple and the foregrounds should really pop out of the backgrounds, which comparatively should have a more “picturesque” execution. All with good measure, of course; the end result mustn’t look like a succession of screenshots excerpted from a Ghibli movie.

Anyway, if you’re onboard with that, you’ll find two lineart pages through the URL below so you can start tryouts:

One page is daytime and the other is night time. I have also enclosed two of my own color pages as reference material for these two different ambiances (but not the same ones, that would be cheating). It’s meant to be printed in the end so RGB profile is strictly prohibited, on the first volume of Goligo I simply worked with the basic Photoshop CMYK  profile so I guess it’s better if you do the same (it’s the default profile on the lineart pages I’ve enclosed). You can send me your tryout pages at baptistegobi@voila.fr, in a not-too-heavy jpeg format if possible (although if I could be able to zoom in or out of the files a little that would be grand).

[EDIT]  last deadline at the end of august, take your time to do this properly!!

And at the risk of sounding a bit rude, please don’t apply if you’re a beginner, or unsure of your skills, or if you don’t know my work, as it would be a lot of time and energy spent in vain and that’s a bit not good.

Eagerly waiting for your feedback, I need you, I want you.

Cheers,

Gobi
