Don't let the title deceive you. I'm technically not in paradise. Quite a while ago I made it to a little town called Rexburg. It's home to MY university, which is the fabulous, BYU-Idaho. Oh, happy days! I have been here about a month ans so far I absolutely love it.
Back to the whole paradise idea, when you picture paradise, it's usually at a warm sunny beach with dolphins and sea turtles. That's where I was living. Now I am living in a little land-locked town that is quaint and very friendly. It snows, it's windy, and it's cold. Let me explain the frustration now. I am not used to being back into the college life. I'm not adjusting quickly to it either. Homework and time consuming activities aren't really getting to me. I think it maybe the whole "balancing my time" act. For the past week I have felt behind, but not completely stressed. I did well enough on all my tests so it didn't really scare me to bad.
I don't think I entirely know what my frustrations are. I am happy to be here. I am happy to be learning. I also felt like blogging a bit. I'm going to share one quick story about my time here in Rexburg.
One morning, my ward decided to do morning baptisms. None of my roommates wanted to go because we started at 5:30 in the morning. I had my mind set that I was going to go to the temple in the morning. I knew I should. The next morning, I was up and out of bed at around 4am. I was fully ready to go to the temple. I am the complete opposite of a morning person, so being up and dressed before 5am, was absolutely unreal to me. The funny thing about the temple. From where I live it's about a mile.... Uphill. It was a colder morning and the sun hadn't risen yet. So, I'm bundled making my way up to the temple. I felt really great walking the whole way up. I can't even begin to explain the warmth I felt when I got to the temple. The numbness from my ears and nose went away instantly. Surprisingly, I was the first one there. Not much happened after that. Needless to say, it was an amazing morning. I remember enjoying that entire day.
