We had a great Christmas morning together as a family. Ron, Alisha, and Talon were the first ones up for the day around 7:00 a.m. Talon wanted breakfast, so we made his morning rice cereal and sat down to feed him. Big brother Trent woke up next around 7:30, but we couldn't start opening presents because biggest brother Clint was still sleeping. By 9:00 a.m. it was time for Talon's morning nap - so down he went to bed.

In an effort to wake Clint up, Ron and Alisha began to cook breakfast (sausage, eggs, and Swedish pancakes.) Shortly after that, we could hear Clint on the phone in his room. Kaite (Clint's cute girlfriend) called to wish him a Merry Christmas (thank goodness, the man may have never gotten out of bed!) We sat down at the table and enjoyed a meal all together (a very rare thing in our house hold) and waited for Talon to wake up.

Once our baby Santa was awake from his nap, we enjoyed watching the boys open their stockings and gifts. The big brothers were great about helping Talon with his Christmas gifts. Once we were done, we got ready for the day and headed over to the Coleman's for the day.

The day was full of love and laughs. We missed Larissa and her babies Rufus and Guss, but got to share the day via phone videos and a phone call.

Talon's Birth Announcement

Due to cutting back so I can stay home - I'm saving on printing and mailing by posting Talon's birth announcement here. (Sorry to be such a penny pincher - but I do what I must to be home with my boy.)

Guess what I can eat!

At his 4-month appointment, Dr. Bateman said that our baby boy is long and lean - healthy, but a little lighter then he'd like him to be. So - baby got to start having rice cereal. He LOVES it! Despite the amount you see here on his face, we do manage to get some into his mouth.

Today I had a little helper near by while I was feeding Talon. Bayley was really hoping to lick the bowl - or the spoon - or the baby! Talon LOVES the dogs - and they love him too.

Sometimes Mom just doesn't have enough hands...

There are many things to get done in a day - and I can't always hold Talon (big shock, huh?). Thankfully my good friends Linda and Teresa gave me this great helper at my family baby shower. I use it all around the house throughout the day.

Talon turns him self around in the seat to play with different toys. My smart little guy figured out this toy right away. He pushed the duck down with his hand, gave it a curious look, turned his hand over and pushed the duck down, then repeated. (So SMART! - he gets that from his Dad). And guess what - one time I had the camera near by to film my little genius. (He was a little crabby this day.)

Look What My Mommy Made Me...

So, if you are a family member or friend that has had a baby - you've most likely received a homemade baby sweater from me (and blanket from my Mom). Well of course when I found out I was having a baby - the crochet hooks were out! I tried Talon's sweater on him for the first time this week and it almost fits - it's just a little big.

On this rare occasion - we were all home, so I took advantage by getting a picture of my G-Men. (How lucky am I to be surrounded by so many great looking guys!) Ron and Trent laughed at Talon's hat, "He looks like the bundled up kid from the red rider B.B. gun movie! He's gonna get beat up wearing that thing!" I don't think so - he's manly enough to pull off the look! I told them, I'd make a set for Trent and we could test the theory. Trent wouldn't go for it. (HA)

Hey - I found my feet!

The fun thing about babies is that everything is a new discovery to them. On Thanksgiving morning Talon found his feet! So of course, Mom ran for the camera to document the moment.

Family Room / Mom's Office

With the blessing of being able to stay home with Talon, our family room now doubles as a home office for me. We put up new curtain to help block out the morning sun that was shining in my face from the top of the picture windows.


I'm working a few hours each week for a company coding legal documents. Most files can be coded within 6 - 7 hours. However, I had a very difficult job this last week that took me nearly 17 hours to code. Jobs are to be done by 7:00 a.m. the next morning from the day we receive the assignment. I let them know I was struggling and got an extension. This was the first deadline I didn't make - but apparently with this job, not many others did either!

The Kids are Now the Parents...

Another mile stone in the family - the Coleman kids to their kids out Trick-or-Treating together for the first time. Nani made a wonderful Eagle costume for Derek's Griffin. Kristin's Xioxi was a bumble-bee. And Alisha's Talon was a bay-bee. Brandt and Larissa were missed - but we hope they were having as much fun as we were on Halloween night. Here are the pictures.

Uncle Brandt's BIG 40th Birthday Dinner

In honor of Uncle Brandt's 40th birthday (because he loves to collect bees) Xioxi and Talon wore their Halloween costumes early for his birthday dinner.

Everybody loves to hear a baby laugh - and now you can enjoy the laughter of Tickle-me-Talon! He's not available in any stores because he's PRICELESS! Plus, his Mommy could never let him go for any price. But he's here for your viewing pleasure!

There's more in our family than just Talon - no REALLY!

So I realized that all of my posting have been of Talon (can't tell I'm a proud Ma-Ma can you?). Well just to show that I do photograph others in the family here are some pictures...

Today I'm sitting in a quiet hotel room in Washington. The only sounds are coming from my little Talon when he gets a little restless while he's sleeping. He should wake any time for another feeding. I've been reading my friend Tammy's blog this morning, and enjoying the news of her family - it really made me realize how much I miss her. One of her postings talked about taking the time to enjoy the quiet moments - and I realized I was in one! I appreciated it all the more reading her thoughts.

As a new mother, it's been interesting adjusting to the many changes of having my first baby and being a stay-at-home mom. Things like living on a 24 hour schedule, being at the beck and call of a little person of 24-inches long that depends on me for everything, not having to live so much by the clock with my time belonging to a company instead of to me...so many changes - and I LOVE every part of it! Well - Talon is waking up for his next feeding...

Talon rolls from tummy to back!

Trent and I were playing with Talon during his tummy time on August 21st. Talon was not happy about being on his tummy, and decided he wanted to be on his back - so he rolled himself over! We kept putting him back on his tummy to see if he would do it again, and he did - 3 more times!!! Here are pictures of roll over number three. (Such a big boy!)

Blessing information...

Hello Family and Friends,
I'd like to invite you to come to Talon's blessing to be held on Sunday, August 31st at the Lansing church building. Church starts at 9:00 a.m. - we'll have the blessing after Sacrament Meeting (since this is not on a Fast Sunday). Uncle Vedel is going to give the blessing, and I'd love to have any family priesthood holders able to come to stand in the circle. Call if you need more information.
