What Mother Goose never really revealed was that Humpty Dumpty was really an egg with acid reflux. I can tell you right now, all the king's horses and all the king's men really can't fix that mess...

5 Months

We had our first taste of solids this month and it wasn't until the third attempt that he finally got the hang of it. His favorites include sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, and pears. While peaches top his dislike list. We're still waiting for his first tooth to appear - as his body seems to be completely content with pretending like it's pushing out a tooth. Personally we can't wait until we get to see the first product of his constant drooling and sporadic pain.

The Bacon-ator!

Emily loves Bacon. Not sure why when she pretty much hates all meat, but there are small fabulous moments when she loves something that had...let's say..."a previous life". Case-in-point: Bacon.

This past weekend we bought bacon. Why? It wasn't because we wanted it...or because it was a required food item for a dinner. Nope, we bought bacon because Emily excidedly told about 6 people down 6 different aisles: "We're getting Bacon!!" She then followed her statement with some dancing, giggles and a hearty "Have a Good Bacon Day!!"

We just about died from adorable "bacon" overload.

The BIG 6

• Loves pizza, cucumbers, go-gurt, anything and everything chocolate and she suddenly started a random obsession with mustard.
• She could live at McDonalds, adores going to the doctor, and much to her dismay she has perfect eyesight...but she regularly reminds me that she really really needs glasses!

I interviewed her and these are her answers.

Daddy!

Pink and Blue

Lucky Charms and Cocoa Puffs

4. What do you want to be when you grow up?
A teacher and you (a mom)

5. Where do you wish you could go?
The doctor

6. If you could have a wish, what would it be?
I want to buy a memory ball. It needs to be BIG and made of glass.

7. What is your favorite ice cream?
Birthday Cake ice cream

8. What is your favorite place to go?
I like to go to the store to buy bubble gum.
What stores?
WalMart and Target

9. What do you enjoy doing outside in the backyard?
Swinging and listening to music.

10. What is your favorite thing to drink?
Soda! Cream soda.

11. What do you enjoy learning about?
Chicken wings and chicken feet. I love chicken feet!

12. Any last words to finish off the year?
"Yeah. To get chicken wings and chicken feet. Ha ha!"


And that's why we love her. She's full of randomness!

Rainbow Birthday Party

Emily has yet to have a REAL birthday party. So this year for her 6th birthday we set out to give her one fabulous day with some of her friends. We spent weeks putting together the invite list and prepping our sad sad backyard...but we kept the details simple and easy.

The best decision for the entire day was the bounce house. Easy set up. Stress free activity planning. Lots and lots of entertainment for any age.

Juice boxes, popsicles, and pizza delivery occupied the food table...and we kept it simple with some cupcakes.

Emily is a huge My Little Pony Rainbow Dash fan, so this birthday was a huge hit for her.

2 Months

Weight: 11 lbs 5 oz. 15th percentile
Height: 22 in. 4th percentile

Around six weeks our enemy acid reflux showed it's nasty head and brought with it plenty of misery. Thankfully after a change in formula and some wonderful medicine we started to see a huge difference in his demeanor and some much needed relief for everyone in the house.

Going Home

Today we received the all clear to head home. I was excited...Jacob AND Emily were less than thrilled and both may have been crying as we left the room. Emily could have lived in that hospital room if I let her.
